i'm guessing there using everyone's miners to mine coins until machines are no longer able to make a profit. Look at BFL they are slashing prices for all of there miners. Its sad that People that make miners are not really able to produce there product. At least with Litecoin you can simply build the machines out of GPU's Sure there are a few here that are able to have group buys. But for the general bitcoin investor/hobbiest its sad that we are not able to trust anyone online. at least we have ebay and buy 2nd hand hardware. Sure its expensive but at least we are protected....... somewhat lol

For myself when i finally decide to buy a machine i know it will be 2nd hand unit or I will buy from a group buy. I dont trust any company that doesn't have units in stock ready to ship. Ya i know they use Our money to build the machines. and they are pre orders which is so wrong... Its like Sony telling everyone " Pre order your PlayStation 5 Unit arrive in 10 Years " thats how all bitcoin hardware companies are. Sorry  not bashing them but if you are serious Go to Chase, BOA, hell even a government Loan. Don't rely on customers money to make a profit.

Anyone requested a refund and got it?

I called earlier this morning and requested an upgrade as per their Miners Protection Agreement, since anyone who ordered anything less than a 220GHash miner during the month of December is entitled to, since at the time of shipping (3-4 weeks after ordering) nothing below that would have made an ROI, and if they refused to do so requested a refund. We'll see what happens with it.

Something tells me I won't hear from them, though, as I emailed them about ten times since I placed my order and never got a response. Not a word about my 128GHash or 1.2TH miner. I'm highly disappointed.

Did you reach someone on the other side of the line?   What did they say?

I mean, 220 GHs miners are in stock at BFL.   Bitmain is shipping them out.  Another company with Avalon 2 chips is shipping them out.   A firm in Silicon valley with Avalon 2 chips is also shipping.     So AMT have better ship them out without delay.

Update.

Jim at AMT has just sent me a tracking number. I should be receiving the unit today, according to UPS. Being what a crazy day it's going to be, I probably won't be able to update anyone beyond that till after the weekend, but I will do so as soon as possible.

He didn't order anything, AMT is giving him one to review for the forums.  Seems like he will get a demo unit (presumably to help drum up sales for AMT) before paying clients get there already late units.

I'm the guy they decided to give an 80 GH/s unit to for review purposes. I can't comment on the order chain, as I'm not an official customer. I'm in fact still not entirely sure why they picked me, other than Jim and Josh seem to like me.

I am going to be shuttling back and forth all day today, so it is unlikely I'll have time to unbox it when it first arrives. As soon as I have time (probably Saturday evening) I'll unbox it on video, and post the video. I'm going to make a youtube channel where I rant about cryptocurrency, and that will be it's first video. I'll post the link as soon as it's relevant.

After that, I'm going to put it through it's paces and video the whole process. They asked me to do a thorough review, good, bad and ugly included, and that's what I intend to do.

Kind of on topic, do you or anyone reading this know of a list of SHA256 alt coins? I'd like to try solo mining with this beast, but with bitcoin that would take literally years Smiley

Well, that's disappointing!   I mean 80GH/s unit,  you can buy that off ebay!   Hopefully you get one of their 200GH/s+ units.

Please try to determine that the unit they sent you use BitFury chips.  I would be highly suspicious if a unit the got was an Avalon 55nm or a Bitmain system.

Folks,  I sent out a query to their supplier bitmine.ch info@bitmine.ch  asking them how many chips and logic boards has AMT ordered from them.

Please do the same!

We need to get to the bottom of this.

I apologize if  my post gave the impression you solicited this or you where trying to do any harm at all.  I was merely attempting to point out that the company prioritized a demo unit ahead of using those materials for a paying clients already late machine.  A little BFLish IMO from the company, nothing against you mate!

Oh and http://dustcoin.com/ has a list of some of the SHA256 alt coins, good luck and happy hashing!

You could refuse the offer, but look like you felt for the trick... If this is a fraudulent scheme you became an accessory for their criminal enterprise. Evidence has already shown this is an one-man business façade syphoning funds to Bulgaria. Moreover, if you receive a machine first than the original customers, this will prove their are more interested to perpetrate the scheme and not really serve their customers. Are you aware that there are customers which ordered this product months ago and were promised 2013 delivery?

By the way, could you please provide a screenshot of the information gathered with the tracking number (redacted if necessary)? It will be useful to everyone know where this packages is coming from. It is in the best interest of all buyers to know where the supposedly product is coming from, so everyone can know in advance how to deal with the their respective customs.

Don't have photoshop at the moment, so I'll just copy and paste that data as of a few minutes ago.

Salt Lake City, UT, United States    01/03/2014    5:31 A.M.    Arrival Scan

Left from where they say.

Don't know where you get your info from, as I've been following this thread since day one. The Bulgarian connection is Technobit.

As for the rest, well, it's not unusual for a company to send someone a demo to test, who they think will either be objective or help them sell it. I am trying to be objective. I honestly am not sure why they chose me, but the stated reasons were that I had been skeptical without being a dick. Not exactly in those words. I intend to test the machine thoroughly and expose it to the world, warts and all. I'm fairly certain that it's based on or directly uses the Technobit HEX16B boards, so it ought to be a good unit. I have some concerns about the small case, given that ASIC's are noted for their heat and bitfury chips are noted for being sensitive to it. Beyond that, I don't know that much about it, and I'm going to have a blast finding out. I cannot and will not speak to their shipping queue or where they are  in it. They haven't given me that information. They did indicate that they were hiring additional people to handle customer service and hoped to have their problems sorted very soon.

I will say this, though. Several people have posted that they can't get ahold of them by email or phone. I've done both, several times. Email without issue, and phone without much. The longest delay was over the new year's holiday, and that's not so egregious, is it?

It's definitely NOT a one man operation. It is small. I suspect five, based on remarks they've made to me and in the forum. Big furry deal. Michale Dell started by himself, in a dorm room and his father's garage. You gotta start somewhere. My impression of them so far has been that they are technical people and have little to no experience in customer relations. Which is BY FAR the hardest part of business. Let's face it, all of the ASIC manufacturers have had less than stellar communication. This in itself is frankly something this whole fledgling industry needs to overcome. AMT is not alone in their poor customer skills, and it appears from the tracking data that they do indeed have miners on offer. Let's give 'em the benefit of the doubt, until there is good reason to think that they are something other than overwhelmed.

Jim at AMT has just sent me a tracking number. I should be receiving the unit today, according to UPS. Being what a crazy day it's going to be, I probably won't be able to update anyone beyond that till after the weekend, but I will do so as soon as possible.

What did you order?  When did you order it?

Can you send us photos when you receive your unit?

He didn't order anything, AMT is giving him one to review for the forums.  Seems like he will get a demo unit (presumably to help drum up sales for AMT) before paying clients get there already late units.

Don't kill the lucky guy, eh? I really didn't solicit this. I'd be lying if I said I was unhappy about it, but I ain't trying to do any harm.

It's all good. Thanks for the info, and I do hope they get you your machine very soon. I honestly think they are just in a bit over their heads rather than trying to do anything underhanded. They have no guarantee that my review will help them, either. I hope the machine is cool, and that they are able to get every one of their customers satisfied. Cuz if those are both true, I will be a paying customer in the future. I wanna see an American ASIC vendor that doesn't stink of BFL.

Don't have photoshop at the moment, so I'll just copy and paste that data as of a few minutes ago.

Salt Lake City, UT, United States    01/03/2014    5:31 A.M.    Arrival Scan
Louisville, KY, United States    01/03/2014    4:01 A.M.    Departure Scan
01/03/2014    3:12 A.M.    Postal code listed for the receiver is incorrect. UPS is attempting to obtain correct postal code and complete delivery. / The address has been corrected. The delivery has been rescheduled.
   01/03/2014    2:01 A.M.    Arrival Scan
Philadelphia, PA, United States    01/02/2014    11:37 P.M.    Departure Scan
   01/02/2014    4:42 P.M.    Pickup Scan

Left from where they say.

It would be better a screenshot.

Let's give 'em the benefit of the doubt, until there is good reason to think that they are something other than overwhelmed.

well i, for one, am eager to read your reviews and view the videos. i also appreciate you trying it out on alternate currency. i have had 2 orders turned down by AMT if you can believe that. so maybe your reviews (good and bad) will revitalize and refocus them so i dont have to force them to take my money.  Grin

You could refuse the offer, but look like you felt for the trick... If this is a fraudulent scheme you became an accessory for their criminal enterprise

This is uncalled for. Biomech didnt ask a thing, and got offered a free miner. No one should be expected to refuse that based on a hunch this might be a scam.

I would however, be careful not to put too much weight on the results. Not that i have reason to suspect Biomech from being untruthful, its just that the ability of anyone to cram a few off the shelve technobit boards in a standard mATX case was never in question.

Do we know the full names of Josh and Jim?

Let's be clear, these folks are clearly operating in U.S. soil.   Wire fraud is a serious crime.

Bitmine.ch likely have signed a contract with AMT.  I am sure that they also verified the credentials of their partners.

So far, the company hasn't been executing well enough.  But like BFL, it may be more incompetence than being a scam.

One quote to leave you all with:

First the community wants pics, video, etc to prove they have machines. The company posts both but that isn't good enough, then they pick a random guy off of the boards to do an unbiased review and now the boards jump on him too. How pathetic. Leave the guy alone and let him do a review. #tinfoilhatbrigade
