Update on my attempt to get a refund on my deposit:

- filed online with paypal...got the automated "outside the 45 day" response

- called paypal...was told to tell my bank to initiate a chargeback and that paypal will then gladly help

- talked to my bank...was told my debit card was only protected for 90 days

- called paypal again and explained the situation...this is where it gets interesting. I was told that my ticket was now escalated. Paypal is monitoring the amount of complaints they're getting and the more they're getting, the faster they will act.

Don't give up. Keep calling paypal until they give you a ticket number!

Their website is still down? If it stays down this could be the beginning of the end. Poof they're gone, just like that. They've probably fled the country to their new home on a private island somewhere.

Funny I find I can post on this thread but it will not let me no matter what follow the thread with the read/unread command
no can I quote when I try to reply to someone's msgs on this alpha thread I get this

An Error Has Occurred!
The post you are trying to quote either does not exist, was deleted, or is no longer viewable by you.

so anyone know WTF is going on or dose alpha have SOME moderator power on this thread and specifically went after

your good old buddy Searing?

so anyway site is down I guess they finally went under..and are now filing for bankruptcy....likely they let the clock
run out on the Internet provider and they pulled the web site

as to paypal try to get a direct line or email to their 'paypal executive committee' it is called may help personal intervention by
a paypal higher ups

come to think of it that is why the alpha site is probably toast ...alpha itself is probably toast with all the complaints and chargebacks

hope I'm wrong

on a side note in case I find I'm locked out of this thread again (so weird only problem I've ever had on bitcointalk and it is this thread)

how many folks in the last month have got a credit card order resolved all the way to payback? As far as I can tell I am the only one who
got AMEX back....

anyone.....it could be because amex has the dispute process and I was one of the first to yell for my 30% back from the credit card company
if so any amex folks with the pending flag on this dispute and if so how many days along are you

or

other cc refunds of note ..post them on here people need some hope

now to figure out why i'm dorked on this thread so I can't follow it anymore nor quote and post on it...just do this reply only deally

if anyone knows if I'm under double secret probation (ie Animal House) please let me know!

Give it up guys its over. We have all been swindled. There were many red flags over the months since the preordering began and we all should have seen this coming. I feel bad for anyone that actually sent them the remainder of the money. I've written this off as a total loss as paypal as usual will be useless to help.

Works for me.  Website still up.  Forum still up.  Still banned for pointing out the machines are now worthless.  Even if we got them two weeks ago, we'd never see RoI even on 50/250 units.  Prices have plummeted, difficulty has skyrocketed.  Scrypt asics are a dud, as more come out the price of scrypt coins will drop.  Asics are being produced in such large quantities, they make themselves obsolete.

Think about this: If you buy an asic with a 90 day RoI, and that company sold enough of those to double the difficulty, it's now a 180 day RoI... Now in that 180 day period 5 more companies each come out with their own asics, further trippling the difficulty.  Now you're sitting at a 1.5 year RoI with a steady decrease in profitability VS electricity costs.

Asics are only a good investment if Very few people buy them.  Anyone buying scypt asics from any company will never make RoI even if you get it same day.  This coming from the guy that just spent $8k on Zues asics 2 weeks ago, and lost $2k on Alpha-tech.  Scrypt ASICs can in no way, shape, or form be a good investment.  Too large of a quantity are being produced.

Well ....still can't follow this forum nor quote to post..but seem to be able to reply here...weird

yeah the site www.alpha-t.net is still up but FORUMS are down...I was listed as Visitor in that I did get an AMEX refund on
my 30% down on a Vyper....

but maybe even that has been taken away (as Visitor I could only look not post)

anyway any info on how I'm throttled on this thread here (no idea my profile says all is good) and/or if forums are
still up on alpha and I just tripped over another layer of banning on the site

I can say I was shocked the site is back up ..when it was down I was sure the whole dog and pony show had left town

I cashed back 50% minus 70 GBP. Not the sweetest deal to my heart but given everything seemed the best option for me.

FYI...

KNCMiner have their wafers:

https://www.kncminer.com/news

Quote
Titan Moving Forward

Our new Titan Scrypt Miner is finishing it’s first run in fabrication this weekend with wafers being sent to the next step: encapsulation. As so, we’re awaiting completion and the arrival of the finished chips in Stockholm, Sweden, where they’ll move into our testing and assembly phase, for delivery.

We can also announce today that The Titan chip will use a PCB (board) with the same physical dimensions and footprint as the one we’re using on our Neptune product, while requiring substantially lower wattage. It is also delivered using our new modular design system. We’ll update this space as soon as we can announce first delivery of the new Titan Scrypt Miner, and will release exact specs after real-world testing has completed.
Yup.  Pretty much the death knell for us poor little ole alpha-t pre-orders I'm afraid.  Now, even if by some miracle AT manages to actually deliver by the end of next month the unit's will basically be little more than expensive-to-run heaters.  Time for somebody to setup an AT-preorder-suicide-hotline toll-free number I'm thinking :/

When I get my miner I have to pay €360 (20% for 50Mhs) for the toll or vat or whatever country its coming from. When the delivery is about in December I am sure I will not pay it as its more as its worth. Thats the truth.

I was thinking when ordered they will deliver in middle June, after paying the 70% sure they are going to deliver in July. Now in August I am sure there will be no miner before December coming to me. In September they will get the asics (!), October fixing the PCB and maybe in November starting shipping.

It's up to you to decide so far.  If you are a customer like me and support ignore your requests for refund, offrer you some goodwill instead but never transfer anything back, going underground and not answering at any of your mails and then banning you on the forum..... How would you react?   Even if they delliver anything in September, they still threat people like me,  who paid in full,  like shit....

I am wondering if the Flower Technologies / Ensilica (UK ASIC design firm) delay is related to the Alpha-T  delays ?
If Alpha-T were counting on using the Ensilica device as a fallback after Dexcel issues, then it could be February before they ship …

You can read about that drama in the August update here: https://www.flowertechnology.com

TL;DR Flower didn't raise enough money thru pre-orders to completely fund Ensilica to do the asic development.
