I'd have to wonder about this refund and what the strings are.
obviously there is a delay announcement coming and I also wonder how many people still owe the balance of their original order.
does getting this refund negate the ability to sue or going for a chargeback? will they expect the balance, less this "refund"? does this mean you now agree to their terms, whatever the hell they are, now, such as 'you are business'?
there just aren't enough details in the e-mail.
"respond to this and we'll send you something." wuzza-huzzah? did I win a feckin door prize or some sweepstakes or something?
this is weird shit.

The turning point is May 22nd when Alpha Tech started to deceive its customers and became completely distrustful. As it knew it would not deliver in July, it deceived its customers that it would. Since that date, it has been an internet fraud and owed us refunds at least.

If they have spent the majority of the money they received producing the Viper, they should be able to show a large inventory of parts and receipts for payments to Dexcel, the foundry and other suppliers, as well as documentation on director and employee salaries and expenses.
Personally, I wouldn't consider accepting less than I was owed without a thorough accounting of where the money went and what the current status of production is.
Their 'We don't have much, take what we can offer you out of the goodness of our hearts while there is something left to get' strategy sounds manipulative and predatory.
If they really want to engender some good will with their customers they can start with a full accounting of past expenses and a full and frank disclosure of the current status of the Viper project. In public.

One does not simply make us forget about how they violated the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 by not informing we would be viewed as a buisness by offering a partial refund.

Good email from Management. Let's look at it this way:
1) We signed up for a product to be delivered in mid July, say for argument's sake end of September. 2) If the product is not coming end of September, why is that not a breach of the agreement that we signed up for? It is not a change, it is a cancellation of agreement from Alpha-T part.
So 30% or x% is their proposal, and our reply to their proposal is: no, x= 100%, not interested in your new proposal.
Agreements are: a proposal by the seller and an acceptance by the buyer.
We accepted the first offer. We did not request the second offer of 30% refund. This is considered as an unsolicited proposal and thanks but no thanks.
Non withstanding the above: 1) The product was promised to be first to market: failed promise. 2) The product was promised to be competitive and matching the competition's offer so that Alpha-T customers would always be getting the best deal on the market: it is now officially the worst deal on the market.

Greetings Customer, We understand there have been many changes in the market since you ordered from us and many of you are not comfortable with completing your order. After much consideration we have decided to give partial refunds to all customers who desire them as a gesture of goodwill from us. It is of course not possible to refund everybody in full for obvious reasons even if we wanted to (the vast majority of funds have now gone into the production of the miners so the funds remaining to us are limited). For those who want this it is as simple as replying to this email ( payments@alpha-t.net) with all your paid order numbers (deposit and final payment) asking for a refund; be sure to email from the same address as your order with us. If you have orders over multiple email addresses then please send multiple emails for each request (for security reasons). For everybody else it is business as usual; and will be sending out the details of our share scheme soon as well as further updates on our production. We would also like to apologize in the delay of refunds and some payment related queries; this has been resolved so for those waiting on payments most of you can expect your refund/payment issue to be dealt with any day now. Best Regards, Mohammed Akram Director ISIS And here is the key word. nice one. This is pretty absurd, essentially offering people 30 cents back on the dollar is absurd! An obvious trap! It's damage control. Too many people are winning cases. If you paid in any other way other than bitcoin, then legal action is the best course. Correct assessment, damage control

Has anyone actually received that email from alpha? Or is it a fake e-mail? Because on the forums a bunch of purchasers have not received the Refund e-mail.

where did you see this? I found nothing regarding Batch 2 orders. Although it wouldn't surprise me is they try it to help slow the bleeding from imaginary batch 1.

It's a strange one. The guy who originally posted the email is a known Alpha sock puppet (Hassher) but no one else seems to have gotten it , although UltraRUS said he asked Alpha about the refund and was told it was 30% then got banned for posting it. So who knows?
