Thank you

Thanks for getting everyone on board. I like sharexcoin so far, it is quick and responsive and has low fees. I am transferring a little btc there in order to help make a good spread.

I have had coins in my TEKcoin wallet for over 30 days and after 30 days am I supposed to see a balance show in the "Stake:" section of the wallet?  That section still shows 0.00 TEK coins.  I have had my wallet open for a couple of days now after I reached the 30 day mark and nothing has been mined yet.  I am new to PoS type coins, so any help is much appreciated.  Can anyone try to help me figure out what is going on or what I should expect?

Thank you,
Joseph

If your coins are unmoved for 30 days and your wallet is unlocked then your coins begin competing with other coins on the network for creating a PoS block. The more coins you have and the longer they sit in your wallet the bigger the chance to create PoS block. You can view your coin weight by clicking Settings->Options->Display->Display coin control features and then clicking Send coins->Coin control.

If you have less than 100 TEK it may take a few days before they stake.

It appears to be working as I do have a coin weight for that transaction and they are unmoved and unlocked.  The amount of coins is under 50 TEK though so I imagine it could take longer like you said.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.

Also remember that weight is calculated by the amount of coins multiplied by the days beyond 30.  So for example if you have 50 coins and you are on day 32 then you should have weight of 100. Day 33 you will have 150 weight, etc. So the more age you accumulate the more weight you will have.  And another thing to keep in mind is that you are still making interest everyday while waiting for stake. You will get beyond the 40% stake when your stake comes in. So just sit back, leave your wallet unlocked and open and let your wallet do the work for you.

I calculated that if buy 1000 TEK today, in one year I will get 20 BTC a month (at current price).
It is too good to be true, so what's the catch (assuming the worlds doesn't awake and discover TEK)? I know about NVCS, so could it be really possible to get 20 BTC a month with 1000 TEK today? This person above who has 10K TEK would be making 300 BTC a month? OK, I know that you have to sell them if not you just have some TEK that you cannot do anything with, but still...

20 BTC a month, I stop working!

The reason for this post is: I want you to put my mind at rest about what I can really expect from TEK. "When something is too good to be true, it probably is".

Two TEK investors, me included, decided to hang on #tekcoin on freenode (there is also #tek, by the way). If I judge by the Monero community, IRC is a great tool for devoted teams.

That's great news.

My Tek windows wallet still won't sync after adding the nodes a few posts back - please let me know the exact latest steps to get it working (which qt wallet to download, which blockchain file to import) and please check if anything needs to be updated to make it work on windows 7 and 8 64 bit.

The correct information is hard to find and I think this is a problem in terms of having more users (window users) adopt Tek.

I am using v 1.2 wallet and I have tried all of the different blockchain downloads. I can't get it to sync on both of my windows machines.

Still can't participate in the TEK economy with my stash as my windows wallet won't sync no matter what I do Sad

If anyone here has TEK running on windows please let me know exactly which wallet you used and what you did!

I'm still offering 250 TEK to whoever solves my problem.

Currently staking TEK and HYPER

can anyone elaborate on what happens when you run "repairwallet"

i have seen somebody say they where sacred to run it because the might lose the coins they are staking.  as they have a large amount it would be nice comfort for them to have multiple people weigh in before they risk it.

I've never run it on TEK, but I've run it on other coins to remove orphans, and I didn't lose anything. Perhaps others with a better technical understanding of repairwallet can chime in.

Shouldn't do anything to coin age. Coins are stored on the chain. The wallet simply has the keys to use the coins and also indexes the transactions for that address.  But I would recommend a backup of the .dat first.
