Try to backtrack the price of bitcoin last year, it even dropped to 5k usd in the middle part of the year. But those who stayed calm and trusted the technology eventually became big earners in the latter part of last year when bitcoin 's price pumped up to 19 usd. Bitcoin's volatility is what makes it more exciting and interesting to invest. You will not find any investment that can offer you that kind of return in a very short period of time, All you have to do is take patience and stay aware with the price movement.

You are no choice just hold it until the end of the year to be able to break even to your investment or getting some profits. Selling is not the best choice you will lost more money from your investment.

Or you can play the rise and dip trading game to make more btc.

This is just a big long dip right now.

Buying at $12,000 wasnt so bad, it will shoot back to $20,000 soon enough.

Playing in the Bitcoin game requires some patience.

I got in last July, and have seen much volatility.

Never been tempted to sell because I'm in for the long haul.

If you are the person who let your emotion drag you down,  then yes.  In this type of venture,  you need to be emotionally stable and be optimistic.  Even almost all of people do not even believe that bitcoin will reach its current state.  You need to have patience for you to be successful here.  It will just take a few months then I believe that the value of bitcoin will again increase.  You just need to wait. And also,  you think that you loss money because of the fluctuation,  but I think it is not really a lost money because you did not even make it a money,  or you do not even sell it.  You only lose money when it is in you and you lost it.  So do not feel depressed,  be optimistic.

Do not get too depressed. That is part of the game. Part of being in a business like this. All you have to do is just wait for a little bit longer and be more patient. Bitcoin will surely recover and you will earn huge profit.

If you are capable of buying 0.5BTC at $12K price, then I believe you are willing to take the risk to have a good profit. So if I. were you I would hold until the end of the year. And wait if the price will rise up at $20k level or at least higher than $12K. After the end of the year, if Bitcoin price is still in between $7k-9k, then it's time sell at $9K price. There are a lot of suggestions made but you have to make you have the final say.

well, maybe it was the result of his efforts, it was natural that he became depressed. each person has their own limits. I also currently hold some bitcoin, and a little depressed because of the price that goes down. but, I believe that bitcoin prices will rise again. so, it's not so influential.

This unfortunate scenarios commonly triggers the worse decisions and willingness of an individual to further engage with Bitcoin or other alts. Just think about other users here having millions of dollars in their wallet, probably they have great losses compared to your 5k dollars.
The thing is, if you wanted to earn larger profit then invest bigger amount but remember to invest only the amount you can afford to lose. Bitcoin is volatile from the beginning and you should keep that in mind. Don't go here crying about your loses, don't go safe,  don't expect big profit without investing big amount. Also to are responsible to manage your funds and monitor these changes if you don't like that to happen

This is why I was saying that holding 100% of your coins is not a good idea. You need to decide how much of your coins you need to keep aside for long-term storage. For the remaining coins, you need to set up price targets and when the target is achieved, you need to convert these coins to fiat.

We have the same experience, I usually stressed and depressed when I am holding a bigger value of bitcoin because bitcoin usually dump down slowly and I feel that if it goes down it will continuously goes down. But this is the problem that is wrong. Dont be a panic seller of bitcoin because it can be your loss someday. Think before you sell it, sell if you need a money, and dont sell because you are in panic.

Well holding bitcoins is really a risk. If you are really a risk taker in a business then be patience. Wait for the right time to when the value of the bitcoin will rise. I know it may be depressing right now but for sure it will be worth it of you just wait.

The part of life and patience is the key to overcome this problem, if you hold all your bitcoin in your bitcoin wallet then no risk, no need to be in desperation because you should be confident about your investment that you are in safe hands so be happy that you have bitcoin be with it, almost 80% of population is already investing in bitcoin from all over the world and remaining 20% are trying to know about it, means they are the future investors of bitcoin.

You haven't loose any thing mate, just dont panic sell the btc and the best thing you can do now is keep the btc safe in a secure wallet, avoid any error that can lead to the wallet been hack and buy more bitcoin before the market recover because the market recover.
Wait till next month or month cause the market recover will start pretty soon.

I think the only thing you can do now is to hold your bitcoin. Getting panicked and selling it will only make you lose what you have invested. Just wait, and try not to watch the price to avoid worrying too much.

You did not particularly mentioned that you needed the money for some reason therefore you were looking to cash out. If that were the case then that would depend on how bad you actually needed to do so. Because you didn't mention it I'm going to assume that that's not the case, and but you are cashing out because you have lost faith watching it go down.  just think if you had bought in sooner what kind of returns you would have had. Holding on is worth it. You'll have plenty of folks to tell you that here.
