LOTTERY ROUND 174
This round, the winner with the lowest number of tickets is #2 with 137 tickets.
#1 won 0.32861185 BTC with 176,044 tickets.
Congrats to the winners!

Although 9 out of 10 winners had much more tickets than I did, there was one with just 137 tickets winning 0.16430593 BTC! If it was some unknown site I wouldn't bother with buying 1k+ tickets every lottery round. But I know that everything's fair on FreeBitco.in and that's why I keep buying those tickets hoping to win one lucky day. Smiley

P.S.
You guys have never replied to my proposal regarding eliminating bots from the game. Have you solved the problem?

P.S.
You guys have never replied to my proposal regarding eliminating bots from the game. Have you solved the problem?

The problem is an ongoing battle and there is never going to be an outright winner. We are always doing more to try and combat the bots. If anyone comes to us with information or ideas we can successfully implement and save us money we always pay a bounty. I don't think trying to turn that into a competition will really work.

I guess these words may be interpreted as “the competition has been always here.Smiley I didn’t know about the bounty you’ve mentioned, but now I’m sure it's worth thinking on the ideas.

I can't help thinking that there have to be guaranteed ways of spotting bots. I mean, I know from your earlier post that bots can be re-coded in a matter of a few hours and thus they can adjust to any new implementation pretty quickly, but I think there has to be an idea of something which is immune to that.

Best way is to shut up shop and walk away (or in wetsuit's case, run away) Grin.

Onto the issue, it is (or should be) well known that a lot of popular sites have 'security' bounties available. Bitcointalk has one too for example.
The issue with bots is that you can never be 100% immune to them because they will always find a loop hole in the system that they can exploit...

What do you mean wetsuit is runaway? Yes, we do not knoe anything about him, just because he seldom come up here saying words but it does not mean that he is run away. May be he is getting a new project again and I think his freebitco.in is real success site, from advertisement site becoming a real gambling site

What am I bothering since the competition begin the lottery prize is cut down into half as the first prize. Just want to see the old lottery prize again Grin

Wetsuit is much smarter than that.  Wink Why would you dump a income generating business like Freebitco.in that would sustain you for years for a quick grab?

The site seems to be self sustainable and it is generating a good income for the owner, so there are no reason why the owner should dump such an asset.

He might sell the site for a large profit to someone else, if it becomes too much of a hassle.  Wink

There's certainly no plan to run away, only to enhance and add to the site. It's not for sale but I guess every business has a price.

It would be interesting how people would react, if Wetsuit decided to sell Freebitco.in. The site is successful because Wetsuit built up a long-term trust relationship with a lot of users. <Mostly based on the prompt and regular pay-out of the faucet withdrawals>  Roll Eyes

The fact that it has been around for many years, also give people confidence that Wetsuit would not cut and run with this. I know I will withdraw my deposit, if there are rumours of a sale of the site. <New owners might want to cut and run>  Huh

I wonder how much will a site like this be worth.  Huh

How much? I think the answer is simple:

If Wetsuit quits openly and gives time for people to withdraw BEFORE the handover, the selling price will not be good because everyone will withdraw everything if Wetsuit decides to quit. But the new buyer will still have a chance to gain trusts from the community later

If Wetsuit quits silently and announces AFTER the handover, the selling price will be better. But because it also implies that the new buyer is willing to pay more for the delayed announcement, I believe no one will trust that the new buyer won't run away

I would have split ownership and sold shares if I owned anything like this just to allow some realisation of profits on investment and labour, etc

But theres a cost to the administration and accountancy for that type of company ownership. Its also possible this project while successful is just a side bet to whatever else he has going on.   If I run a portfolio of investment in whatever area I often find I have to reduce ownership (take profits) because some ideas will hit it big and make the whole deal lopsided and risky to keep that way

Usually you only sell shares in your business if you do not have your own capital to grow the business. Freebitco.in is different, because Wetsuit do not need additional funds to expand, because Freebitco.in is doing well without expansion. The new site with the Alt coins and possibly an exchange might need some funding, but I doubt if Wetsuit is going to expand with other people's money.

Talking about the "new" site, when is this scheduled? (2018 or 2019?)
