I think we all miss those days (whoever was around then) I did used to like the 1000+ satoshi and was always hoping I'd get the ~0.7BTC top prize there (as far as I remember, it was about 0.7).

The top prize for free rolls was 1 BTC when the site launched and BTC was under $200. Within a couple of weeks BTC shot up to $350 so the prize was reduced to 0.667... then when $500 hit it went down to 0.4.... then someone in the thread came up with the idea of fixing to a USD value and it's been at BTC equivalent of $200 ever since.
IIRC the base prize was higher depending on the geographical region defined by AdSense. So in most first world countries, it was $0.004 rather than $0.002 for the rest of the world.

"The lottery's fixed until I win it" - essentially what we're seeing here again Grin (I haven't won anything yet that I know of).

LOTTERY ROUND 164
This round, the winner with the lowest number of tickets is #1 with 340 tickets.
He/she won 1.23699432 BTC.

Should be very lucky and congratulation to a winner. This is the beauty of the lottery because if one is lucky quantity doesn't matter to win huge money. Based on math if we have more tickets our winning chances go high but I believe that luck is the one will increase our winning chances than quantity particularly in a lottery system. Still, waiting for my turn and I believe many people are still waiting for their turn too...
Yeah, it's all about luck. 340 tickets to win number 1 jackpot and get over than 1.23 BTC is really lucky though, i think he used all his luck quota for this year lol.
Nope it is not all about luck, not sure if you haven't seen the past weeks but most of the winners here have hundreds of thousands and even millions of tickets being bought in order just to be one of the top 10 winners. As you can see the more tickets you have the more chances you are winning, relying just on luck alone when you know your chances are low is like hoping for nothing. And there is no such thing as a "luck quota" people don't even know when they will be lucky or not.

As you can see the more tickets you have the more chances you are winning, relying just on luck alone when you know your chances are low is like hoping for nothing. And there is no such thing as a "luck quota" people don't even know when they will be lucky or not.

The week before this last one 5 out of ten had more than 100,000 tickets but a quick check of the last 10 or so weeks show those to be in a small minority. Most of the winners had a few thousand to a few tens of thousands and quite a few lower.
I think when someone says it's all about luck they are referring to the principle of betting on random numbers. They are not denying that more tickets give a better statistical chance but luck is still the deciding factor in a game of chance. It's not hoping for nothing, it is hoping for a small chance.

BTW most of the people you see with a very large total of tickets didn't buy them. They get 200,000 free for every 1 BTC wagered.

Ah yes, I remember that, because it fell back down after the $200 reward was introduced. Because of the TX malleability hack.

"The lottery's fixed until I win it" - essentially what we're seeing here again Grin (I haven't won anything yet that I know of).

It's just part of BTCevo's signature spamming repertoire he recycles every week along with the customary 'don't gamble just use the faucet' and my personal favourite 'don't buy lottery tickets because there is no guarantee you will win'.

There are some that don't understand the premise behind gambling somehow (the maker of the bot you pointed me to had a good stance on it).

I am not spamming on this, just because there is something I intend to know and never get an answer you are suppose that I am going to spam here? Yes, I am saying do not gamble on this faucet just because it does not worth everyone time and what is wrong with that? It just does not make any sense why people are dong this? Just to have fun with this little amount of betting?

And about the lottery ticket, I can say that I  always buy the lottery tickets every day and why should I suggest others not to buy it? If others not buying it, will it boost my chance to win? I do not think it will work that way

You turn up every Monday when your post count starts again to make the same ridiculous comments that I have answered and pointed out how stupid they are every time. That is spamming and if you can't see what is wrong with spamming a service thread with "I am saying do not gamble on this faucet just because it does not worth everyone time" I wonder what is wrong with you. Learn English and stop talking out of your arse. Go and spam in Gambling Discussions where nobody needs to read your idiocy.

You get a lottery ticket every time you gamble with 500 sats so why not try to see if you can get any from there?

Tbf, a lot of posts on this forum seem spammy. Determining if a post is ridiculously made so that it is spammy seems very difficult to do.

That's true but coming back to this thread every week to make the same dumb points and choosing to reply to a post that's already been answered is a giveaway to the motivation in my opinion. I wonder how the gambling site that pays him would react if I went to their thread every week and told their customer not to gamble.

There is a lot on the forum I don't think many signature spam posts are made in service threads. He's been doing the same repertoire for as long as I can remember. He can't really claim that his points have never been addressed, I was giving a counter argument to them every week long before I started working for Freebitco.in. It's fair enough if he doesn't agree with me but repeating the same arguments time over time serves no purpose beyond meeting his required posts in the gambling section count.

Oh i love this faucet, i see this website since 2016 and 100% still legit,
A long time ago claim 1000+ satoshi every hour and now small.
Oh i miss it.

Long back BTC price was quite less so you used to get a lot of Santoshi but now also you should be getting the same amount of fiat but less Santoshi due to high BTC price. With current high BTC price, no faucet site can afford high payout for free.

Many new bitcoin users have started their crypto journey from this site.

Many new bitcoin users have started their crypto journey from this site.

The best example of this is Gavin Andresen's faucet from way back. It used to pay out 1 to 5 bitcoins to users, so just imagine if the payment amount was not adjusted to the value of the coin. Gavin would have been broke within the first few months, after the price spiked.

I was also around when Freebitco.in paid out 1000 Satoshi per hour and even then people told other people that it was a waste of time to use faucets. If you held on to those Satoshi from back then and sold them now, you would have made some very good money. <To think of it, I never used mine and it was linked to a paper wallet, so I just have to look through all my paper wallets to see if I can find it again.>

I created a new account a few years back, because I messed up with 2FA and I was locked out of that account, but I still have the paper wallet. <probably full of dust tx's>  Roll Eyes

It might be a good time to find it and consolidate the UTXOs while you can still get a 1 byte /sat transaction through.

Yea, probably is.  Grin

In the beginning I used it almost 8 times a day for more than a year and I regularly won bigger amounts too, because I hit the bigger numbers. So I should have a minimum of 0.00056000 BTC per week. <worth about $4.628 USD per week now>

$4.628 USD x 52 weeks = $240.65 now.  Grin <Minimum> .... [Maybe I should leave it a little bit longer]  Cool

That's true. I was one of them. I had collected over 0.02 BTC (and successfully withdrawn it) on my first FreeBitco.in account. Unfortunately I stopped using it at some point, and then lost my login info. No worries, though, I have a new account with 0.00304930 of FREE ROLL WINNINGS already. Smiley

Regarding 1000+ satoshi every hour in the past, I want to point out that nothing has changed in the USD equivalent. The minimum award on FreeBitco.in has been always equal to $0.002.

The best example of this is Gavin Andresen's faucet from way back. It used to pay out 1 to 5 bitcoins to users, so just imagine if the payment amount was not adjusted to the value of the coin. Gavin would have been broke within the first few months, after the price spiked.

it was a fixed 5 BTC per IP per day and it was from 2010.
back then people weren't really abusing faucets and weren't considering a faucet as way of "earning bitcoin"! it was more like a giveaway to try out this new strange thing on the internet they called "bitcoin".
and it wasn't just his own coins, for example there was a couple of 1500BTC donations, multiple 50BTC, 70BTC,...

not to mention that in 2010 you could mine more bitcoin with your PC that you could abuse a faucet and earn.

So I should have a minimum of 0.00056000 BTC per week.
I am earning roughly that much now with my investment there Cheesy

Yes, back in those days faucets served a genuine purpose, to increase adoption. I tried some of the faucets that came after

Gavin's faucet, but I figured that it was a waste of electricity.  Roll Eyes

I never even imagined that a bitcoin's price would reach nearly $20,000 per coin. Feel free to add me to the list of people,

who thought it was a waste of time. After a few years, I bumped into Freebitco.in again and I learned my lesson and kept

my faucet earnings. I cashed out some of those Satoshi last year and I bought something nice for my pets.  Grin

I am active since a bit more than 1 year on freebitco.in, so I completely missed the boat  Grin.
The max amount I can remember that I got on the free rolls was around 70-80 satoshis.

There's always another boat. I remember very well back in 2013 everyone telling me I had missed the boat because 1000 sat claims were pointless compared to the 5 BTC ones they had a few years before. I'm just really happy I didn't listen to them.

Agreed 100% - I cannot wait for the day when 1 Satoshi = $1  Grin

I want to take that paper wallet and post it online as proof of faucet earnings and then shove it under the nose of the naysayers that were saying that faucets was a waste of time. <obviously, the private key will be blanked out>  Roll Eyes

I think, if you are coming from a 1st world country, then a few Satoshi that are worth a fraction of a cent, would not be a life changing amount, but when you live in a struggling third world country and you collected these Satoshi over a few years and then suddenly these Satoshi goes up in value, then this is a life changing event for them.  Cheesy
