Yes, I agree. I take part in various bounty campaigns. Of all, about 70-80% of scum or dead. But there are those who work and very well ..
The fact is that there are a lot of companies that have a very weak team, which is aimed only at obtaining money from investors, but very little care about the development of its project. It is because of this that most companies die, let them have a good idea.

Saw this study on twitter... https://twitter.com/Zeex_me/status/978981735101878272

I've seen a lot of people asking about how many legit ICOs there are, so I thought I'd share

Quote from the article: "The study begins by breaking down ICOs into 6 groups: Scam, Failed, Gone Dead, Dwindling, Promising, Successful. “On the basis of the above classification,” they wrote, “we found that approximately 81% of ICO’s were Scams, ~6% Failed, ~5% had Gone Dead, and ~8% went on to trade on a exchange.”

"Scams were defined by researchers as “Any project that expressed availability of [an] ICO investment (through a website publishing, ANN thread, or social media posting with a contribution address), did not have/had no intention of fulfilling project development duties with the funds, and/or was deemed by the community (message boards, website or other online information) to be a scam.”

DYOR people ...

Before you participate in the ICO, you need to carefully study and analyze the project. Such a number of fraudulent projects appeared because most investors do not analyze the projects and invest money in everything and scammers use it. I believe that a thorough analysis will help to avoid losing money.

I don't think that the ICO are all so badly. Judging from my experience, bad companies are about 20%. 80% of scammers, it turns out that there are less than a hundred real tokens on the market.

I agree that the majority of ICOs scam, but I do not dare to declare in percentage figures. I think they are less than 80% and i hope with the advancement of time, ICOs selection to be tightened again, or there is a way to ensure the quality of ICOs. I think it's very important to restore investor confidence.

In fact, the scam projects are much smaller.  I think the scam projects are about 30%.  But still it's a lot.

I agree with you, 80% it's too high. Also those stats are made in the past time, maybe the future hold more good than bad ICOs.

Most ICO are scams especially the ones with airdrops that doesn't worth up to a dollar
Just using people and bounty hunters to get the awareness they are looking for.
After listing you won't be able to trade their coins because it is below one dollar.
Most of them are scam but not 80% let's say 70% or 65%.

I agree that most ICOs are scams, but many investors are getting the benefits of ICO that has been successful and honest in the project.
I have been very cautious about ICO projects. I'd rather miss some good ones than be scammed.

I'm sure that no more than 40-50% are scams. I recently tested personally. Out of 10 old ICO, after a year, only 6 projects have developed and are still working  Undecided

All ICO project should has rules to protect investor from lose by program buy back token and burn token model, by this way developer can avoid big loss of their investor from big drop of token price. Regulation is also very important to make sure the project has awesome product and will manage by solid team. ICO market now to big in quantity but low in quality product, because they can issued and create token easily without any working product, many project does not continue to development the idea of project.

There are a lot of new exchanges which list tokens for a very low fee or even free. Now even scam ICO can hit an exchange more often.

Honestly there are loads of phony ICO right now and it even wind up hard to know those phony ICO in order to keep away from them. In spite of the fact that one of the approaches to know the numerous phony ICO is to ensure we get some information about them like knowing the correct the undertaking is about and perusing their whitepaper to check whether it is a commendable task and worth squandering the time on.

So we have to be careful in investing our money, reviewing the white book and their website, especially team profiles

And unfortunately that's not good. Or is it? If it hits the exchange then it's not that bad, you can see the volume and market cap and in the end stop loss can save you from big losses.

DYOR people ...
There are many ICO that are announced on a daily basis on the forum and many of those goes undetected by the people here and those which gain some popularity and gets good rating on the ICO rating websites are from those projects which get listed on the exchanges and I also take part in the bounty campaign of those projects. But day by day it's getting pretty hard to differentiate between a legit and a fake project as the scam artists are also pouring a lot of money in the scam to make it look like a legit project.
