Currently there are many ico that failed because their sales results did not reach the target. There maybe some reasons but if the token sales reaches hardcap it will make ico project potentially become a successful ico. In my opinion only 50% if for 80% it is too much.

i disagree with your statement because based on the study of some crypto analyst, they found out that 90% out of all 100% ICOs are scam!
I think so. There are many good ico I have ever participated in and they have real products, many ico have very long roapmap. 3 even 4 years. they still work silently. However, our investors only think of profits, not as an investment

I knew that there are a lot of scam but the percentage is really terrifying. I really carefully check the project before investing. My advice is to invest in projects with ready-made product, long termed activity before ICO and good team. but of course  one has to read White Paper , chat with community and so on

You have wrong about your opinion when you talk about 80% ico’s was scam, you have check the other ico before where have success and good price when their ico’s sell in the market exchange. Now we have see how much price of Minexcoin ico where in the ico only price about $2 and now have reached about $30. How much your profit have you take from minecxoin ico’s. But we have found some ico’s have scam and low price when their coin sell in the market.

I don't think that 80% of ICOs are Scams.
ICO is high risk. How can check success of ICO?
Need choose "famous" ICO only.

Not all ICO or even 80% were Scammed. yes, some ICO project which are posted on the treed had a questionable identity. Beside, what are your bases on the 80% ICO are scammed?

I think the figure is so sad. And yes, many are not scammers, but just raise loot on hype. But what prevents you from carefully analyzing the characteristics in advance and determine the honesty and need for the project. Nowadays there's services for checking scam.

there are a lot of scams, that's true.
but 80% seems like a lot of overkill to me.
I think that there are especially many bad projects, badly prepared, and launched by incompetent teams.
that's why when you want to invest in a project, it's very important to be well informed and not just follow a buzz or a popular project.

And despite this horrifying statistics, many people are still happy to invest in ICOs. It seems to me that only lucky men win here and this group of people that are true professionals. Many investors lose.

it is not easy to distinguish which ico is correct and ico scam, but it is very surprising if what you say is the truth 80% of ico is a scam, this is one of the reasons why many people do not want and do not want to invest in ico because the deeds of some people who not responsible and make bad image cryptocurrency,

I think so. We can be cheaten by others if we are not careful enough. We need to make enough research while we do the the investment. The more careful we are, the better we will be. Just do the right thing.

become a dilemma indeed to be able to find which profitable ICO and ICO are scams, need extra careful attitude if it wants to participate in the ICO, as indeed a benefit at the ICO is big enough, but even then not few people still trust the ICO and remains active in it.

NO, that is absolutely not true. I would say that scams are a lot lower percentage, may be in the range of 10%-20%. They are a lot of genuine projects that are failing.

Thank you for the information you provide, of course this is very helpful for us beginners who want to join the bounty campaign, of course I will be more selective in choosing a bounty campaign.

Adding features to failed projects is that project managers and teams do not always update project information on their media. this is my experience following bounty, after I confirm it turns out one of the founders left did not continue the project.

I agree that the majority of ICO scam, but I do not dare to declare in percentage figures. Sometimes people give different insights to the term scam. Some people say that the definition of a scam is a project that does not distribute tokens after the success of ICO. But there are also tokens that have been distributed and can not afford to pump big at the price, it is considered a scam as well.

Saw this study on twitter... https://twitter.com/Zeex_me/status/978981735101878272

I've seen a lot of people asking about how many legit ICOs there are, so I thought I'd share

Quote from the article: "The study begins by breaking down ICOs into 6 groups: Scam, Failed, Gone Dead, Dwindling, Promising, Successful. “On the basis of the above classification,” they wrote, “we found that approximately 81% of ICO’s were Scams, ~6% Failed, ~5% had Gone Dead, and ~8% went on to trade on a exchange.”

"Scams were defined by researchers as “Any project that expressed availability of [an] ICO investment (through a website publishing, ANN thread, or social media posting with a contribution address), did not have/had no intention of fulfilling project development duties with the funds, and/or was deemed by the community (message boards, website or other online information) to be a scam.”

DYOR people ...

I don't really agree with you, i think 80% of ICOs are great project, and only 20% are scam ICOs, i can say that based on my experience, as a trader and a bounty hunter, i really earn much money through ICOs, and only a few ICOs i joined are scam project, so i don't really agree with your opinion.

i agree. Every people have different views and opinions, therfor we cant really say that most ico's are scams because not all people do experience on what op have experience. he maybe scam more oftenly because of poor choices and lack of knowledge when deciding to invest or join an ico but i believe that he could always avoid it if he manage to do a proper research on every ico that he may come across.

most ICO is a scam. but many investors are getting the benefits of ICO that has been successful and honest in the project. for me joining ICO project is an alternative way to invest very easily
