Fork, wallet not syncing, WTF?

"blocks" : 406789,
"timeoffset" : -109,
"moneysupply" : 370693955.90117800,
"connections" : 14,
"proxy" :

Make sure you are using latest version;

"version" : "v3.5.4.9-g-research",
"minor_version" : 316,
"protocolversion" : 180317,
"walletversion" : 60000,

People that upgraded to 3.5.4.9 were the ones reporting problems. I'm still on 3.5.4.8 and I'm synced up. Until I hear something from a dev or Bittrex I'm not updating. I don't see anything in the OP about a mandatory update unless I somehow missed it.

I was running 4.8 version earlier and i had syncing issue. Wallet was stuck out of sync and i did upgrade to 4.9 now and since then my wallet is running up to date with block explorer. I havent tested any transaction yet but wallet out of sync issue is gone with latest version at least.

Just received notice from Bittrex that the GRC issue with them has been resolved and it's no longer disabled.

Sorry for the noob question but how  a fork is detected? it is comparing blocks from different clients? and how we determine which is the fork and which is not?

thanks

It normally does not happen and if only for a very short period of time.

Normally you compare your blocknumber with the block explorer to find out if you are on a fork.

From the look of things everyone is starting to get concerned about grc's distribution because it is so small (in market cap and low hash rate) during a high inflation period. We've fallen into a pattern of low hash rate on, and it is causing blocks to be taking longer to find.

Hi, I am struggling with my wallet as well also with POR therefore i had to upgrade to latest release 3.5.5.2 only yesterday and i waited hours to get a single connection to gridcoin wallet but without luck. Then i downloaded blocks from gridcoin wallet's Rebuild Block Chain tab and i finally got more than enough connections. I am not sure in your case but if you havent done that i recommend you to go through downloading blocks first and see if you get connections later. Now my wallet is at least fully synchronized and im still working on my split cpids problem lol

Another thing is also check wheather your time is correct on windows and synchronize it.

If it is not synchronized, peers can refuse your connection.

Also good news, there will soon be another pool, so that setting up mining will become much easier.

Hash rate? Gridcoin does not have any hash rate at all.

It's PoS and on top of that a (much bigger) reward based on research done for boinc and this research done is growing fast: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/118094994/charts

the numbers of researchrs also increases greatly: http://www.gridresearchcorp.com/gridcoin/?result&t=CPID_Leaderboard
