Where are you based? I had trouble syncing from the UK but my other systems (In the US) synced fine, first time. Have you added the nodes detailed below to your client? Do you need help adding them? addnode=198.205.118.181:4777 addnode=191.101.9.62:4777 addnode=218.24.154.38:4777 addnode=61.235.146.130:4777 addnode=144.76.123.194:4777 addnode=92.222.37.29:4777 addnode=80.74.157.31:4777

Another node would be amazing there are only 4 currently running. And yeah, can we get some reviews of the blockchain blockpage explorer? How's it working? That's amazing stuff - I need to get it going too. And does anyone know how to SOLO-MINE with a GPU on Datacoin??? I'm using the miner from here --> http://dtc.graymines.netI've never solo-mined before, I'd like to put some of my GPU prime-hashing power directly into Datacoin via solo-mining. I plan to still keep some in dtc.graymines.net - I just want to make sure we are load balancing as much as possible Any help would be appreciated - and we can use the instructions we come up with for a new Datacoin help page

Here's my cheat sheet to get a wallet going from post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.msg11527613#msg11527613But use the above nodes - they are the most current. If someone has detailed instructions on how to set up a full-node - that'd be extremely helpful as well. This is something we should have explicated so others can add some too. Here's my "cheat-sheet" to get a working Datacoin wallet going Link to Windows wallet - http://sourceforge.net/projects/datacoin/files/Download datacoin-qt-131204.zip Unzip it (drag file onto desktop usually does it, or click the unzip icon in the folder) Run datacoin-qt After the wallet boots up, you'll notice that it doesn't connect to any active connections. To fix that, go to the 'Help' tab on the top, then 'Debug window' The 'Console' tab comes up. At the bottom of the Console tab you can enter commands to the wallet. We are going to add nodes. I went through this thread and others and found nodes that may be active. type the following: addnode 107.170.165.126 add then hit return. I added all of the following using the above command format: 107.170.165.126 108.61.57.85 125.135.114.73 162.243.125.211 198.12.12.83 46.4.147.38 144.76.123.194 80.74.157.31 104.131.69.82 graymines.net:4777 My wallet is now connected to 11 nodes! Not sure which ones above are active - just know that one or more gets the wallet working Hope this helps my fellow Datacoin peeps! And as of today (6/3/2015) the size of Datacoin is about 1.2 gigs. (Bitcoin is currently about 32 gigs) Peace.

We have a Datacoin information site in the pipeline and its around 80% complete. I have had good feedback on its progress from members of the community, as AtomSea said we need working instructions to include on the website, areas we are covering include:
- Help with setting up your wallet - Mining Guides
If anyone thinks of something else we should have on the site, speak up and we will get it added. If anyone wants to contribute to the site or wants a look over it before it going live let me know, all contributions will be credited.

it's pretty easy to setup a basic node on a vps (which is what i'm doing) this is amusingly the guide i generally follow, https://github.com/coincreator/tutorials/tree/master/tutorials/LinuxDaemonHostingthe important part is installing the correct libraries. and it uses ubuntu, so the commands below will need to be changed slightly for other flavours of linux obviously there are a few things to change, such as git address but it's pretty much the same. edit. i added adding a swap file in, can be useful its' down the bottom here's a basic variation on that link which will be for dtc.. once your vps is started and you've logged in.1. update the vps OS and install libraries 2. get source code and start compiling 3. edit datacoin.conf -- generally i start the daemon first, then it closes with an error about needing this .conf file. it will spit out an example rpcuser and rpcpassword details. i just copy/paste these into the conf. also copy/paste addnodes from below 4. start for real. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install build-essential libboost-all-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev make git
## look below at adding swap file, do it here
git clone https://github.com/foo1inge/datacoin.git cd ~/datacoin/src/ make -f makefile.unix "USE_UPNP=-"
./datacoind & touch /root/.datacoin/datacoin.conf nano /root/.datacoin/datacoin.conf
## paste stuff, then to exit [ctrl-x] [y] [enter]
./datacoind &
./datacoind getinfo hopefully now your daemon will spit out some promising info that it is working, and connected !! conf content - change username and password to yr whatever rpcuser=useretc rpcpassword=passwordofyourchoice addnode=107.170.165.126 addnode=108.61.57.85 addnode=125.135.114.73 addnode=162.243.125.211 addnode=198.12.12.83 addnode=46.4.147.38 addnode=144.76.123.194 addnode=80.74.157.31 addnode=104.131.69.82 addnode=graymines.net:4777
adding a 1gb swap file. virtual ram basically, will help with some memory based compiling errors. you may as well do this early in the procedure dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1M count=1024 mkswap /swapfile swapon /swapfile
## then to make it persistent, ie run on reboot you need to edit fstab
nano /etc/fstab ## then at bottom of file paste /swapfile swap swap defaults 0 0
[ctrl-x],[y],[enter]
note. lines with ## are not to be entered.

no worries the tricky bit i didnt go through is setting up a tunnel with the vps. so you can chat with it through a terminal interface. digitalocean offer one through their droplet infos, but i've always had problems using it, probably just bad ping. windows users need to use putty, but as i'm on OSX i can just open a terminal and just connect

Thanks, we will probably add a translation system to the site we have created. It seems who ever owns http://datacoin.info has decided to make the site live once again. Does anyone here know who owns datacoin.info?

Hey Atom, I dropped Maxsolcn a PM before asking if he still owned it but he replied saying he doesn't. We definitely need to diversify the services!

I find that most fascinating. <read that ^ with a Spock accent> But yeah, interesting Well, to whomever is running it, that's awesome, just be sure everything is updated, Datacoin.info-mystery-person Ex - Datacoin is now a GPU coin, not just a CPU coin
