Well If in the sense of mining people can ignore btc because not profitable at the very moment,mining altcoins is pretty much preferred now.
But if it is the case of holding and selling rather then ignoring btc will not be beneficial.
Crypto market is very much versatile and many people have taken this as full time job.
Normally a day trader makes minimum 3-4% each day,no other work gives that much with so little effort.
Goldman Sachs is baking of its plan regarding which made the price fall,but soon it will recover market is quite bearish now.

Like everything else Bitcoin has also gone through many changes that happened with time. So, what was profitable in one moment doesn't have to be in next, like mining. Some people don't want to accept changes and adjust so they rather abandon Bitcoin and move on. And this is their legitimate right.

I dont agree that we should move away from a great crypto, for me it is the time that we need to buy more bitcoin and became very rich when the market recover, bitcoin will not end, lets just continue to trust bitcoin.

I was going through this post and thought of sharing here.Well I think this is also some kind of fud.
But don't know moreover other sources also haven't confirmed but if such things are true then a lot depends on the present stability of the market.

For me people need to wait until bitcoin will be fully recover, there is no doubt that bitcoin can recover again so moving on is not the right thing to do, we need to trust the recovery of bitcoin and earn again money when the market became green.

  For me it's clear, from the moment BTC went to the Dow it slide down and be played by the big boys.
  More and more we see up's and down's controlled by some big players between 6000 and 7500.
  Alt coins are following that vibe, and some step out the line but be pushed in the direction the big players want.
  I ask myself who is behind it, are governments behind it that not like the BTC and want it pushed down to get people frustrated.
  So frustrated that many of us, get sick and tired of the up line pushed down already few time around 7400.
  Ofcourse we are human, and after some push down's, we want to be strong and not give up.
  But we also not want to be that person that miss the boot, where the rest break and sell the BTC.
  It's almost 12 o clock when this price will go up around 7400 again, and drops down again i see a huge drop coming.
  And the faith in going up higher, will be lost more and more. And that is what they want.

Yeah, that’s the point. If you think that Bitcoin has lost its value and it’s probably its ultimate end then just leave it and move further to another coin. For god sake please stop creating such posts like Bitcoin dead, Bitcoin was fraud; stop nagging and crying about it. It was your decision to invest in it. We all knew that Bitcoin did not guarantee us anything. So either stick to it or just ignore it and move. Try making trading profits by increasing btc count instead of just waiting for a bull run.

I don't think so. Majority of the exchanges would only let you exchange your Alts for BTC, and, if we get done with BTC itself then I don't think these alts would survive.
BTC is like the base for all these currencies. As long as BTC has market cap, we will have alts in existence. The day people lose interest in BTC altogether, everything would be done and dusted for life.
