What is the main goal of bitcoin? For me, is to give people the monetary freedom, to enable people to transact directly to any strangers around the world without being controlled by banks or government, to be the global currency for a more unified world. I think, it is not realize yet, but we are on our way. Many countries now are accepting bitcoins and declared legal to use.  That's a big sign that bitcoin are making progress.
