hypothetical situation regarding a SINGLE account running on 2 different hallmarked nodes, each having different IPs.

First node is hallmarked with a with a date and weight of which I have forgotten both values.
Second node is hallmarked with 2013-12-22 and a weight which I believe is well over the 1st nodes weight.

I started forging on the 1st node, then later started forging on the second node.  Both nodes are allowing TCP7874 inbound from the network to the host.

Question1: Does the entire network just completely ignore the 1st node since it has the older date?

Question2: Is the 2nd node forging with the entire balance of the account's coins?

1. No.
2. Each node will be forging with the entire balance. Hallmark has no connection to Forging.

ah.. that old date just invalidates the hallmark on that node, not the node or the forging account on it... got it.  Also host#2 sees host#1 with a blue cloud, how on earth did that happen?

But your answer to #2.... does the "you can generate the next block in..." message end up having the same exact time on each host?  (I dont have access to 1 of them right now)  or is it possible that by doing this that I double my forging power? cause that would be FREAKING AWESOME

ETA:  im at host#2 right now, and I see host#1's IP in the "active peers" window but its got a red flag on it.  why is that?

IF cfb advises against it then fine...

CFB is just a programmer and one of lesser stakeholders. Ppl should stop thinking that I'm an official spokesperson.

I understand your role quite well, but you are somewhat the unofficial moderator of this thread since bcnext went incognito, so you should at least say something if you feel the little  facetious references throws the purpose of the thread off track...no one's indicated this is a problem thus far so I assume its ok from time to time.

You are also our only connection to BCnext at this point: the next Satoshi's second. On this note, I take this opportunity to thank you for all your support here. I've been following the thread and discussions from the beginning without necessarily being active, and can only admire your patience and generosity to help. Please don't disappear after dev Smiley

What's optimal strategy to place the fee ? What's the equilibrium. 100 Nxt for anyone with an adequate solution.

It has to be big enough to encourage lots of accounts forging (staying active for the health of the network)  It has to be small enough to promote usage.  I say flat .1% across the board

Blue cloud means that node is in well-known peers list.

"You can generate the next block in..." message is exactly the same. U can't double ur forging power this way, sorry Smiley

Red flag means that last request to that node was unsuccessful (switch "logPeerCommunication" on to figure out why).

COUNT ME IN!  Oh lord, I haven't drunk in ages...  I am a bald male, don't get any ideas!!!   Grin

LOL, I'm in. If that ever happens I would host the party on my private island. More seriously, it would be nice to have a list of co-founders, not only from Genesis but all users before January 3rd. Just to check who deserves the Vodka..

U still can buy that island for 1 NXT (have to sell ur premium domain though).

Edit: Just a thought, after block 22000 Nxt Alias System will be creating extra wealth out of thin air...

I believe that if the network, client, etc. holds strong during the upcoming stress test, we might be looking at a 400-500% increase in NXT short-term valuation.  I hope that only initial investors are the ONLY ones selling at that point.  Fingers crossed!  Smiley

+1000 1st live stress test!  I am happy to be part of this movement...hope someone buys nexern, bcnext and cfb awesome christmas presents..wish I knew them and others

Edit: there is still so much to do, but at the moment thanks to all making this movement a reality.

I think zombies will help us, their number keeps increasing. I expect their master is smart enough to make them to rebroadcast all AS transactions over and over again. This is a good opportunity for App-level DDoS attack.

I can't register "Come-from-Beyond" so I won't take part in this show. But I would use 2 min if I had not much coins and 1440 for transactions with 100k fee.

i thought it was the reverse..

if you choose a big fee, the transaction will be processed first, so you only need a little deadline. You'll get the alias quicker

seems like theres all of a sudden a lot more blocks at a faster rate.  my guess is some people are forcing blocks via generating transactions to other accounts that they own.  I would do that to expedite this process except I wasnt an original founder that got tons of nxt, so I dont have as much forging power as lots have, and I need to keep as much NXT as I can for forging power.  Small chance but Id like to rake in some alias transaction fees!

Im sure I already used my luck up though, last week I scored a 700+ fee transaction.  Thats prob all the luck Ill get
