... moreover it will scale later to any size we need and trusted servers will complete the decentralized infrastructure to keep clients lean, fast and very lightweighted, this is the way to go. the core has to be the ultimative working horse, the client is using it's first class api.
So we will have decentralized infrastructure built on top of the set of the servers? So each time when you do login to your lightweight client you do depend on the trusted servers and their api. Doesn't it look like the structure centralized around the trusted servers? no, because they are optional but available on demand. separating the client from server makes a lot of sense for the expected growth and the expected features. with a lean client version i can decide to connect to my local node, my public or private 24h vps node (if exists) any unsecured open node if i don't need a transfer but just a quick account balance or even to fully trustet nodes in case a transfer is needed. and if you think further to some special nodes, offering services by a custom built api. moreover there is no need to keep the client in sync with the core source which improves security, the most important mantry shortly (hear me now and believe me later) and important too, i can reduce or better cut dependencies completely, gaining better cross-os properties. at least i like to mention that i am lighhtyears away from seeing you or any other dev as an competition, i can ensure you i would be *very* happy if a open source client would appear in this second. this way i could concentrate on the project i am really after, the hive. while the explorer and the client is a service to the community the hive is a personal and commercial poject, which could lift nxt to the global finance level and into another league. this project would be also listed on asset exchange if done and i would be glad if i could start this tomorrow. Hey nexern are you doing this all by yourself? Or do you have a team? I may be able to help you with my friends that I already pay them to help Jean-Luc. So you will be more easily concentrated on Hive!

Mysterious..... Anyhow, on to me: I've had the 5.7 client up and running solidly on both my VPS and one home PC for the last 74 hours. No down time. Couple of incorrect block generation events that both nodes recovered from. Jean-Luc....I could kiss u. Good work. Now I have to upgrade to 5.9, any feedback/tips/whatever? Last point: There is a plan afoot to send some Nxt'ers to one of the upcoming Bitcoin conferences in Amsterdam: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2277.0.htmlto do lots of general NXT promotion. Any help/feedabck/offers of funding gratefully recieved. AND: if we do go to one or both of the conferences, there is a definite need for a seriously technical dude to help with presentations or Q&A sessions. Volunteers....?

Can we at least wait until we have a completed White Paper and Open Source Client. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here! I would like to have a nice brief article explaining Nxt, Features, POS, and then at the bottom, a download link for one of the Open Source Clients. You can't throw arbitrary marketing ideas around and expect funding, be more specific. We need to wait until we have a one click client, or we will lose people forever.
All happening in next week or two. Marketing takes time. Plan, preparing it, releasing it. 2 weeks is not very long time James China will be the first one of the biggest Nxt market with the more exchange platforms adding Nxt I am contacting recently.

hi klee, this is a one man show here and thanks to offer help but i think supporting the core is more important and a very good decision. we need a rocksolid nxt-server as fast as possible and the last releases has shown we are very close to get one.

Also there was the reward programm for all categorys and all people are rewarded, didnt you apply? [/quote] absolutely agree,we really need to construct marketing committee for guiding the mareting, and Plz know that :MARTKETING is not only advertising.

We are already seeing how Chinese access to NXT drove the price up over the last couple of days. AFAIK someone sold like 500 NXT at one point for 0.25 BTC. I say: give the Chinese boys everything they ask for right now. Marketing/translations/localised clients.....whatever. A quick idea to finish on: We all know that the banhammer is coming down on Bitcoin (and other cryptos) very soon in China. We also all know that NXT will soon have an integrated Asset Exchange, freeing us from needing to use 3rd party exchanges such as DGEX, BTER, etc, and that this feature will be very useful in the current Chinese environment. No exchanges, true peer-2-peer currency exchange. The possibly crazy concept here is : will it be possible (or can it be implemented?) to exchange other cryptos such as Bitcoin thru the NXT asset exchange, or an add-on to the AE? If NXT could become a backdoor into (or out of) China for all other cryptos, things could get very interesting. And its morning in Beijing, I'm off to my bed.

what exactly means SMS to NXT ?
you send SMS to nxt ? - nicht verstein, were to an exchange ?
or you send NXT with SMS ? - very good idea... so that poor countries (like in Africa) can buy nxt , and use it THAT WOULD BE GREAT
1. User sends a premium SMS with his Nxt account 2. Gateway sends NXT to that account The tech of SMS - NXT is not difficult. I have contacted and consulted the SMS service provider .wiht small users group ,the gateway server operating fee is much higher, and a single SMS will cost about 0.15$ .

Asking for help. My Nxt client 0.5.8 ran well last week, but yesterday I closed it abnormally (just close without using Control C.) Now my balance is correct in Nxt Blockchain exploer, but shows 0 Nxt banlance in the client.
And I downloaded 0.5.9, still 0 banlance, turn back to 0.4.8, still 0 banlance shows in the client. Anybody can solve my problem? Many thanks!

I believe we need to clarify for some people that marketing is not advertising.
not only advertising I posted about that a while back: I need to throw down a definition here: I'm going to define marketing as pretty much any action that helps to bring Nxt into the public eye, while I see advertising as being the use of (semi-) traditional media (TV, radio, print, web) to throw a message in the face of a mass audience of Joe Public (ie non-techie people). All advertising is a form of marketing, most marketing is not advertising.

Try go back to 5.8, (or 5.9) delete the transactions.nxt and block.nxt files. Restart the Java client and allow it to re-build its local blockchain, then connect with yr browser.

I'd like to hear thoughts about this too, particularly comparing NXT to ripple for this purpose. Have they intensified their presence in China?
