You OP have some point, I think its really our choice and effort to find the best project we wanted to invest on.

Of course we must see the situation and condition first before investing. Their price down because investor already invest their money for 3-6 months ago. so they better pull out some profit first and wait and see the market condition. So when their price already dumped enough then its time for buy and hodl until reach the moon with the note that project really is good enough or the developer still keep on the track about their roadmap. But if your project really has something value inside, i think after they listed on exchanger, their price not will low than ICO price. This bear market makes more coins to fail, we will see this now if the companies that been affected due to this season have plans, some coins tend to exit, while good companies will find ways.

People screaming: HODL!!!  It will moon someday!!!!

Another one that is common: When BINANCE!?!?! If only we were on Binance!!!


This makes me laugh inside.  Crypto is not a magical place where all coins will eventually rise in value if you just hold on to them.

Most ICOs did very poorly the last 3 months.  The ones that did the worst were the ones that started in January
Now, a lot of these startups are underfunded and could only list in low volume exchanges and seeing their prices crash to ridiculously low prices.
And everyone is crying on their Telegram.

Listen very closely yo: The price will never rise if everyone HODls!

Prices are boosted through supply and demand and if a vast majority of people who own the coin are not trading it, than you are severely cutting in to that chain.

Instead of Hodling, you should be buying and making strategic trade choices.

I also think like that, in my opinion the token that will rise in price above the ICO price is only a project that is serious with a roadmap, products, innovation, and has benefits for real life, if only hold but the project does nothing it just wastes time

I think it depends on the currency that you are holding to make it grow but if you choose a good currency to hold for a long time I am sure that it would take you to a great earnings in the future. That's why I am very careful of choosing the currency that I wanted to invested with my money to grow in the future.

this Post was created in May 2018 and i must say that some of your post are true and we are currently experiencing it.I used to believe in HODLING Before but i come to realize the rate at which ICO pump out every day. As a matter of fact the rate of Scam project to quality project this days are 80%/20%. it points out to the fact that there are so many GOOD Project out there but were killed and damaged due to the current Market crisis and also bad projects that thrived just the days of BITCONNECT.

Honestly to be profitable in every product in the market is determine by the demand and supply trend. More demands will always increase the price of a quality product and that demand should be place in a  Market for people to buy.
So when you hold HODL refusing to sell out expecting price increase. people looks for alternative available in the Market.

Yes, most people just hold and wait until their coins increase without doing anything and finally the coins fall and they suffer a big loss. In cryptocurrency you need a strategy to survive and benefit from it, don't just shut up and wait. Find ways and strategies that are suitable for you to do.

It all depends on what coin you are planning to hodl. You have a point that we should make movement on the market and not just hold our coins. But there are coins that are so volatile which makes it good for short-term trading because you can earn a lot in a short time. But if you do have good coins which sometimes consistently rise up on a longer period of time which can give you a bigger profit, I suggest we should HODL. This is the reason why we have to do our assignment. Research for the possibilities how your coin will evolve and can have use in the near future and the companies that are planning to support these coins.
