Many days later...we don't know if the situation is resolved or what? Is Baron refusing to talk to MtGox?
I'm thinking the same. If this matter will not be resolved soon, my trust in MTGOX will not stay intact i guess...

If MtGox is not able to contact Baron, why would your trust in MtGox be affected?

If MtGox is not able to contact Baron, why would your trust in MtGox be affected? Has mtgox responded here and said "hey, i'm still unable to contact baron" ? Baron said he is sending documents to mtgox, so i guess that would mean they contacted each other already. Also, i don't like the "judge, jury and executioner" approach shown by mtgox.

I'm kind of amazed that no one has started a betting pool on this one yet. Especially since this is "Marketplace". I for one, would love the chance to bet good money against anyone who believes that Mt. Gox is going to keep the 45,000 themselves. Or against anyone who believes that trusted third party logs of the alleged IRC transaction will ever come to light. TTBit, you want to put something up on BitcoinSportsBook? Putting our money where our mouth is seems simpler than bickering ad nauseam. And it would be a good way for an observer to measure the community's trust in Mt. Gox.

We need to cross examine mtgox.com to see if your story match up with his. If I will be lying , mtgox.com will let you know, I think. Because, I can guarantee that he is monitoring this thread, but Don't posting very much. Also, I am ready to put this problem to court carusele. By the way, to all those mtgox.com fans: Where you think mtgox.com going to put those 45 000 USD, if he refuse to give it back to me, to government treasury or into his self pocket?

Also, i don't like the "judge, jury and executioner" approach shown by mtgox.
In what way has mtgox acted as judge, jury or executioner? He came over a heap of stolen money, and blocked the account while the investigation goes on. Would there be any other sensible thing to do? Any other legal options? If mtgox do something illegal here, like releasing the account with stolen funds before the matter is completely resolved, we are all at risk of loosing everything we have on mtgox.

If he has strong , I repeat very strong proof that I am that "thief", so he must go to police and provide that proof to them, and only with police permission he can block money, because I have loses when I can't manage my money ( can't trade ), and those loses is growing everyday, in court case I am going to require comensation for that too. But his "proof" that I can't remember nick, chanell details, is not any proof, or fact at all, and every court will refuse to accept it as proof. To everyone: if someone was dealing with mtgox.com by sending/receiving from/to him bankwire , can you please write me private message of where/from you was receiving/sending money, I need contacts. I guarantee, I don't revel to anyone who you are.

It is damning evidence, and mtgox doesn't need more than that to block your account. In most jurisdictions a bank or exchange has to block the account when stolen money get transferred to it. VISA, MasterCard, PayPal and your bank would do the exact same thing without waiting for the police. They are not allowed to let the thief run away with the stolen money. You claim to have lawyers, but I doubt it. But his "proof" that I can't remember nick, chanell details, is not any proof, or fact at all, and every court will refuse to accept it as proof.
You may go on forgetting your own name, it doesn't matter. The story doesn't check out anyway. You made it up, and even changed the story when you got more details about your fictional trade, but it doesn't work. The block chain contains the facts.

You made it up, and even changed the story when you got more details about your fictional trade, but it doesn't work. The block chain contains the facts. VISA, mastercard is bank institution, paypal also acts like bank( I don't use paypal, so I can't say about that strong), so there are two different things. They have special law power issued by government, when you agree to use their services, you sign on agreement (that they can block you money, if they see any problems and etc.), I don't see any agreement on mtgox.com website. In this case "mtgox.com" acts like individual(person/corporation), so he is responsible for any loses, anybody may have, by blocking money. To sturle : it's strange for me your strong opinion about all this, without knowing everything. There are many misunderstanding on mtgox.com business. sturle wrote: "You may go on forgetting your own name, it doesn't matter. The story doesn't check out anyway. You made it up, and even changed the story when you got more details about your fictional trade, but it doesn't work. The block chain contains the facts." . As I can see , it was my mistake , That I accepted to tell everything on public. Now everyone interpreted as what they want. In this case mtgox.com was clever , because he don't tell you very much.

So, if MtGox is individual without agreement and BitCoin's are not money, what do you want from him? You provided him some digits without any contract. He blocked account because he wants. What problems?

I need contacts of mtgox.com owner. Ah. The only contact information I'm comfortable sharing is the email address admin@mtgox.com. You said you have tried to contact him? How? I ask because when he last posted in this thread he said he was trying to contact you. I suggest you send an email to that email address with all of your contact information. edit... For anyone curious about mtgox's rather infrequent contributions to this thread... There is pretty strong evidence that this guy was involved in some theft of BTC. I'm trying to talk to him to make absolutely certain.
wow 16 pages!
Guys I really don't want to go into details about this until it is resolved. If baron is in fact a scammer the less he knows about what I know the better. I'm still talking to baron and trying to get to the bottom of this.
BCEmporium: How can you say what you would do when you don't know what is really happening? If I allow him to trade and he is a scammer it is very easy to send the majority of his money to another account just by clearing out the order book and then trading with another account he makes.
And of course I have talked to the victim and am convinced his account was stolen from. I don't enjoy just blocking random people's accounts. I wouldn't do it unless there really was no other option.
Also I'm not holding his funds because I think he bought stolen BTC. I'm holding them because there is a chance he stole BTC.
Bimmerhead: I'm waiting for him. He isn't waiting for me. I've been trying to get him on the phone since this happened.

God, this thread is still going on? Amazing.
Start to wonder a bit what's the purpose of have this discussed in a forum... Baron isn't clearly a "big player", otherwise mtgox would be "sleeping with the fishes" by now. But he comes to this forum to do... what? At best this hurts mtgox's reputation. To an extent that makes all BTC depositors really happy with the dealer, but all USD depositors unrest. A shift in the balance of the market? Is that the aim?
