I live in Sweden, where we right now have the HIGHEST electricity price since 2008. I pay around 0.4dollars/kwh. There is no way mining will ever be profitable for me again unless we go on really long bull market Residential electricity? Industrial electricity is pretty cheap I heard, around the hydro dams. In your neighbour Finland situation for Industrial electricity is worse because of the tax. Currently we are running around 0.075€ /kwh, for industrial rate in here you need to have 5MW minimum consumption and then the "discount" would be 1.5snt/kwh so for us it would be then around 0.06€/kwh. In sweden basicly all companies get industrial rate so if u run as company its easier, althought because of dry summer (at least they use this explanation) energy prices seems to be up indeed..

Happy New Year to all, I wish for 2019 to not be the last year of GPU mining xD. And of course don't forget to use that bitcoin once in a while, its always a bonus. I'm thinking of getting a nice 6" dobsonian telescope so I can see bitcoin when it hits the moon
thanks it made me smile this morning. to be honest all I need is BCI to go to 3 dollars and 2019 will be a very good year.

These crypto coins are so retail that one slightly bigger player would just eat up all volume in a heartbeat. BCI volume is very thin. It wouldn't cost much to buy it up to 3 dollars.

too tight/compact. if i can't touch each gpu with my two hands comfortably to check each gpu, it is not a good rig/case....the rack is still the best case for me, with hanging gpus.

I tier sell A typical tier selling list would be 1000 at 97 cents 1000 at 197 cents 1000 at 297 cents if I get to this point this year it is a good year for me 1000 at 397 cents 1000 at 797 cents I can afford to mine and hold for 2019 and 2020 so no worries.

since BCI has been using progpow for months I wonder if it will help my coin out. It will most likely help getting better ProgPow miners, that's for sure. Current nVidia miners are half decent but AMD would need a lot more love. I reckon if ETH were to go ProgPow the competition between devs would be fierce. We'd be profiting as miners.

I imagine that there will be a bunch of people switching to BCI just to test out the algorithm and the miners for it. It would be nice if that drove the price up and not just the hashrate.... since I'm sitting on 500+ coins myself.

If they decide to go with the switch, I don't think it will be rolled out in the next 2-4 months. Most likely by the next ETH fork which is probably going to be in about a year or so.
In my opinion they should of just switched to this algo at the upcoming 2 week Constatine fork. The ETH devs already knew about these ETH ASICs which created a huge hashrate jump out of nowhere. I don't see a point in switching at the next fork because the following fork will be a POS fork which will disable GPU mining anyways.

I think ETH will go progpow and stay with it for years to come. Bottom line is this pos does not work. It is basically a bank cd and no fdic on it. Or a bond without insurance. I done a lot of enconomic study and gpu mining is essential as the gamer-miner is big for mining and crypto adoption. Maybe progpow can bring it back.

I can imagine bit-main and their shills are worried now , I know it sucks but I would like this downturn to proceed till 2020 ti really put asic makers in a deep hole they can't get out of
