What is responsible for the big rise lately? Is it all CounterSports?
They say you will never find a poor bookie. There is always money in gambling and CounterSports should make Counterparty very valuable.

As someone who uses betfair exchange frequently I can see the benefits of Countersports (no credit record or commission are big ones for me) but I have a question:
Do you have a specific plan for marketing this to your average user? The benefits seem clear to me but I am someone who owns xcp and bitcoin. Most of my friends would happily continue using betfair regardless of the disadvantages because they know it, trust it and can use fiat currency to bet. Many wouldn't like the idea of even using bitcoin let alone heading over to poloniex or bter to get some xcp to bet with.
So correct me if I am wrong but it seems like the use of Countersports will be relatively niche (i.e. used by those who are into crytpocurrencies) until bitcoin becomes more mainstream. Traditional bookmakers have elaborate advertising and marketing, luring people in with all kinds of free bets, so you're tackling giants here.
With all that said I am very impressed and will be placing some bets myself on the World Cup. I know this is just the start but I'm interested to hear how you think widespread use of Countersports will occur?
Personally, I feel that obviously it's a long way away from mainstream recognition, but gamblers who are familiar with cryptocurrency understand turning 1 DOGE, or 1 BTC or 1 XCP or whatever into 2. The underlying token is not so important, although there is a little extra friction to acquire it that's offsetted by some of the benefits.. They may no have a requirement for XCP beyond this, but they can then cash in/cash out back to BTC afterwards or trade on DEX for whatever else as adoption picks up..Buy XCP, gambl, trade to digital asset representing gold, that shit is amazing. It should have positive effect on liquidity, let's not forget XCP is not being consistently inflated by mining. I think that betting platform built upon counterparty offers many benefits to a gambler. for example, no longer do you have to trust the operator of a site once you've deposited BTC to their wallet. and there have been some large scams in the past mostly due to counterparty risk undertaken by sending your btc to a wallet some other untrustworthy or incompetent owner has private key to. no longer do you have to make 'withdrawal requests', or pass over sensitive information. Some countries do restrict gambling and anyone residing in those countries may naturally value their anonymity a little more. Countersports enables you to be your own bookie in the same way bitcoin enables you to be your own bank. And this is one application, built upon one subset of the protocol feature set. It benefits Bitcoin as much as it does Counterparty. Fantastic to see that someone has taken the initiative to put this project together. So many of these 'coins' today are clones with added gimmicks, their popularity is based on short term speculation and creative marketing, XCP stands head and shoulders above the rest. Truly believe it's a dark horse. Good job Countersports team on your project. Really excited to see some of the future projects built upon counterparty platform!

FYI: tomorrow we’ll be launching our first volunteer-led taskforce, which will be our Social Media Taskforce. These “taskforces” sound fancy, but they’re really just ways of making it very easy for anyone to chip-in and support the project. In a few months we’ll have dozens of volunteer “roles” (spread across multiple taskforces), all on a big list, so that anyone new to the project can pick a task that matches their skills and start contributing immediately. With this in place, will have a structure for handling the influx of new volunteers as Counterparty gains wider support. Unlike some of our competition, we can’t throw piles of stock and cash around to get stuff done. Our best leverage is our community, right here, and over on the main forums. Over the next 6 months, we'll be working on building a large and effective network of volunteers and getting everyone pulling in the same direction. If we’re successful, I think we’ll outpace the competition not just on the quality of our technology, but also on superior organisational ability and sheer force of numbers. If you want to be among the first to contribute, please PM me.

And then xcp holders who like can translate it to own language and go write to local betting forums and tell about this new system.?

Overstock started to talk with Nxt, but I am sure they will choose XCP because Nxt is not really "bitcoin 2.0". It would be stupid leading in accepting BTC and then change to Nxt.

Counterparty is in my book called Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" Reference Book. Please visit my bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483187.180I intend to write historical events for XCP, so any comments on this are welcome.

This is an article about what seems to be fraudulent trading during the MT gOX days that may have been the real cause for BTC to go over $1000 at the time. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/report-mtgox-fraud-led-to-1200-bitcoin-price/2014/05/25It ends with an important paragraph that should be made part of our marketing message. Can We Trust Centralized Exchanges? This is not the first time that claims of fake trading data have been thrown at a Bitcoin exchange, but this possible fraud by MtGox would definitely have had an extremely large impact on the bitcoin price over the course of 2013. The impact could have been large enough to be the very basis for the boom, bust, consolidation, and repeat cycle that so many bitcoiners have come to know and understand over the years. BTC China CEO Bobby Lee has taken shots at other Chinese Bitcoin exchanges for possibly faking trading data, which points to the need for honest, transparent exchanges more than ever. After all, how is anyone supposed to know the real price of bitcoin if the data being used to create that price is completely fabricated?

A user friend wallet is very important, that is why DRK price pumps. If XCP have a user friend wallet, that will let ordinary people use this platform.

This is definitely a key message that we need to communicate.
