The low prices of counterparty really make me believe that 99% of people are functionally retarded...
Took you a long time to figure that out. They even publicly admit it: I'm certainly not dumb, but I have yet to completely grasp the inner workings of Counterparty, and the uses it might have for me. The very concept of cryptocurrencies has yet to land in our collective cultural paradigm. Counterparty is one step further than that. I couldn't explain String-theory to you, now imagine me trying to explain it to Rene Descartes. Considering Counterparty is already difficult to market to the average bitcoin user I think marketing should not yet be top priority at this point. Services using XCP and ease of use of the protocol should come first. I haven't touched my XCP yet because I don't feel like speculating with them and I haven't had another need for them yet. This will come, in time. By that time I think it will be easier to use also (web-wallet was a big step forward in that regard). And by that time marketing on the consumer side will become truly effective. In short: However you phrase the fact that Counterparty is a revolution in finance. Fact is that until people see what exactly this revolution changes and how it is beneficial to them, they will be reluctant to rally behind it. Nicely written text, one thing missing though: the letter R in Counterparty (first phrase)

I still think it's a bit more readable than the current text on counterparty.co. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll let the people decide.

sounds cool but what's the difference between this and a traditional SRI fund? what's the key differentiation? let's take some quotes from this article The excess profits generated by these projects are funneled back into the ecosystem and everyone who holds these Permacredits would get a share of the this excess profit that is sent back into the system. and Thus Permacredits are fully backed by the future cash flows that these projects produce. Result:please meet Mary Jo White, current Chair of the SEC

Despite being so innovative, XCP has become victim to pump and dump
Pump and dump, with an average volume of less than 1000 XCP ? What are you talking about ? Don't use terms you don't understand. The parasite coin is just dying. Not because of lack of innovation or whatever, but just because of the lack of communication and exposure. Amazing devs, but only the 8 people on that thread know about it. This coin is going nowhere with the current direction. What is happening to the new website ? What about the 2 experts' audit ? Introduction video, and so on, and so on... DOGE is terrible, but it is everywhere, which is at the end of the day what matters, no matter how retarded / super cool this coin is. So if only 8 people know about it and it is 4 m$ worth, how much will it worth with 80 people ? And 800 people ? You are totally right on marketing, but that is why XCP is a good target and investment : with no communication, bad exposure and 2 month-time, XCP is near the top 10 coins. I made exceptionnal returns, easily between 50 and 100*, with this kind of coins, when strictly nobody cares and poorly marketed.

I tried to transfer xcp from blockchain address to counterwallet. I take private key from the blockchain BTC wallet under the option " Export unencrypted and and Bitcoin-Qt format". When I imported the private key to counterwallet, it shows "Not a valid private key". Anyone know how to solve this problem? Many thanks.
Importing uncompressed keys is high on our todo list. is this possible now? thx

Guys, please note that we just updated Counterwallet with an updated version of the Bitcoin deterministic wallet implementation for Javascript (i.e. the bitcoinjs-lib BIP32 HDWallet). This updated version corrects a spec compliance issue with the previous version (which did not impact or lessen security or funds safety in any way, but led to wallet addresses being created that were not 100% compliant with the deterministic wallet spec). If you had an existing account, you will need to create a new account on this system, and then log into https://old.counterwallet.co to transfer over your existing balance to your new account created on this system. The old.counterwallet.co system provides you the ability to view your private keys, so you can use the "sweep" feature to easily move the balances over. We will keep this old.counterwallet.co system running for a few weeks to allow individuals to transfer their balances, however, please move over to the new system (i.e. this site) as soon as possible.

Counterparty is currently a finalist amongst six coins under consideration for inclusion (to replace Auroracoin) in the ALTDEX - Altcoin Total Market Index. If you'd like to see Counterparty become the newest component of the ALTDEX index, go vote on the poll here!

No. Someone will come and fix it. Until then, stay calm. BTER had god knows how many outages with XCP and so did Poloniex. Its a Beta and its under heavy development.
