I'd like to invest in Swarm. Can I do that from the online wallet?
Yes, you can use Counterwallet or Blockchain.info. Has anyone put together info on how to go about that? I haven't used a decentralized asset exchange before. There is no need to use the DEx. Here is the process. 1. Fund Counterwallet with your bitcoins or XCP 2. Send the bitcoins or XCP to the address specified by an official Swarm representative 3. The Swarm coins will show up in the address you sent from automatically 4. That is all Here are a couple videos that show Counterpwallet's functionality. It's quite intuitive. I understand this service is a centralized publisher of the bet feeds/winners so other bettors involved do not need to do that extra work in determining who gets the money. Presumably operators of xbet.io make the feed determinations and place some bets to add liquidity to the betting market.
My question is how variable is the fee you charge for providing that necessary centralized results publishing service? Looking at your site I don't see any fees listed for the various betting feeds you govern and it actually ignores that aspect apparently. I'm just trying to get a rough % for how this compares to the other centralized bet winner choosing services. Or should we just ignore that and pretend it doesn't exist?
You are one of the only sites/services to publish results for people and that is appreciated!

I believe that would be possible directly in Counterwallet. You will need to use Blockscan if you use Blockchain.info to initialize your balance of Swarm coins. Blockscan: http://blockscan.com/

You can check the balances of any address at Blockscan.com. You can also set an arbitrary address as a 'watch-only' address in Counterwallet, in case you do want to you that. (No private key imports.)

I see a few assets for sale now with the Swarm name. For security reasons we are issuing SWARMPRE through the fundraising period, which will be converted to SWARM at the end of the fundraiser. Both of these assets are already created and visible.

Dump the private key is the best way, IMO.

Developers: Please note that the develop branches for counterpartyd, counterwallet, counterblockd and counterpartyd_build have all been promoted to master. The new code has many new features, including an improved and faster API (still backwards compatible, with a few minor exceptions). The API docs however have been heavily modified. Updated API docs are at: http://counterpartyd.readthedocs.org/en/latest/API.htmlPlease report any issues with this new code in the forums, in the Skype dev chat channel, and/or to dev@counterparty.co (use the email address if it's a more sensitive and/or security-related issue, although we don't anticipate anything security-related).

Would it be possible to provide a list of the non-backwards compatible API changes?

I just pop up right now because I heard about the new XCP code. Was it tested actively ? Is there a bounty to find flaws ?

I wonder if there are good opportunities for automatic arbitrage between the Counterparty DEx, Bter and Poloniex.

It exists, I did some successful arbitrage trades but it takes time if you don't automate the process. The best opportunites exists between BTER and Poloniex, since the DEX "buy orders" part is not automatic enough. But if there's a upward movement, you can take advantage of big blocks that stays available on the DEX. Best practice (if you never did it) is to have around 400 XCP & 2 BTC on both exchanges and to transfer the difference overnight to rebalance. Don't buy when the spread is too low (below 1%). I did 0.45 BTC profit in ten days 3 month ago. It works better when there is some volatility though... Now you'd be happy to make 0.02 BTC /day It's always good if someone do it, since it'll provide liquidity and reduce spread. The best way should be to write a bot but that's clearly out of my scope !
