As long as the devs keep improving, giving us good content the community is going to be happy and create content by themselves. while all others should just be patient and mine the hell out of this coin the rest is going to be good. Launch and ~60 pages of comments seems to be good as a start for trust of the community.

we need more posts in this treath to attract more miners.

We dont need more miners, this coin is already a big succes. Smiley

Everything will follow in the next couple of days/few weeks.

exactly!

CryptoTycoon shouldn't be the premier pool. I'm getting so many disconnects on this pool, they need to fix things.

I agree, I tried cryptotycoon but was disconnected within minutes, Poolerino sure shouldn't be anywhere at all on the OP. I have given up mining this coin until a stable pool comes along. Poolerino constant disconnects.

All of my pools seem to be simultaneously getting DDOSed. Im in the prrocess of working with my host to filter this attack. Its currently across several servers and two different hosts; most of my pools are back to normal, this is next on the list =)

well i signed up right after you advertised your pool as being stable and having no problems, my unlucky day. Poolerino only has 84 miners left, everyone is leaving.  Tried smc.hash but it won't show my miners as acvtive even when cgminer is mining, it shows 0 hashrate and I get 0 coins there. Noone left.

http://t-hash.com - All set and ready!

Newly created pool ready for the exciting launch of SmartCoin!
Come and register now and you will be up and mining within minutes of launch.
We have invested in this setup as we believe this coin has huge potential, our servers have the following;

  • USA Located Servers
  • Vardiff Stratum
  • Low 1% Fee
  • Anti-ddos measures

We strive for 100% uptime with backup servers in place, so come along and get some coins~

We are still running steady, only 20 miners or so but finding blocks (a little slow cos of hash rate) but no errors or lag!

..this coin is all varnish and no product...I've had two hours of coins get confirmed..then just vanish without going in my wallet...disconnects...this coin is a waste of your time...don't buy into the hype...go back to doge...also, the wallets never sync..and coins are mysteriously vanishing even after confirmation....

You are one of the few who doesn't know how to get the wallet to sync.

I get that, sinnyc. And, you're right. I'm not complaining that it's unfair. I'm just disappointed. Because I regularly scan this board and didn't see any references to Smartcoin or the launch. So, chances are this was highly visible on the day of the announcement and, then, two weeks later, on the day of launch. I must have checked in the intervening lull period. And, then, when I did find it, late on the 26th, when it launched, and before the deadline of the 27th, I just didn't see the register link which I would have absolutely signed up for. Maybe blindness explains both of these. Or bad luck. But since I can't undo the bad luck of missing out on the first few hours of the post-1000 block mining due to an unseen re-boot, nor the bad luck of not signing up for the free coins, I'm wondering if there's a secret option C that involves me helping me out in some way. Which I'd be happy to do.

SMC: SeYMxY9WSfWDQLb6szngqUC7M7FX9v6w8G

I'm kinda bummed that I wasn't able to get on that 45 free coin action. First off, I've been mining since block 1 (well, 2). Secondly, look at my name! Lastly, I was here at the thread yesterday which was, technically, before the 27th cut-off date but I didn't see any pointer to a registration site where I could sign up. Am I blind?

Smartcoin, is there any way I can earn my way into the fold today? I've got some time on my hands and I'd like to contribute.

SMC: SeYMxY9WSfWDQLb6szngqUC7M7FX9v6w8G

The info about the free coins and the bonus coins for promoting Smartcoin was on the OP for well over 2 weeks prior to launch.

So after finding out that me and Rav3n both built a version of P2Pool which are incompatible I decided to take mine offline since Rav3n supports multiple alt-coins and it is already implemented on more nodes.

I updated the P2Pool software on the server.

http://smartcoin.freily.com/

You can now point your miner at http://smartcoin.freily.com:9585

I also still have the old instance running because I don't want to throw away (not only my) hashes there unless I have to and people are still connected. I will keep hashing on it for 24 hours or until the block drops. As soon as the block drops I will take it offline. Feel free to already connect to the new instance at the new port, you will still get your shares should the block drop.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are now the P2Pool nodes that I know of in the pool:

http://smartcoin.freily.com/
http://taken.pl:9585
http://krychu.no-ip.pl:9585 (seems down atm?)

If you want to mine on it, just use an address as username, password does not matter.

Example:
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o http://smartcoin.freily.com:9585 -u SWRAdrk56FgrGz3VFpwca4BJDSdNZfGb5y -p x

Just replace the address with your own otherwise you'll mine for me ;-)

If you want to set up your own P2Pool instance (recommended so that the pool can grow and get stronger) the source code is here:

https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav

Start the instance with:
Code:
python run_p2pool.py --net smartcoin

Important ports are 9585 for workers, 8585 for P2P network.

I moved my limited resources to the new port, but do you think it is still possible that a block will drop on the old port if that pool was incompatible?
If not, then it's a shame I wasted about 20 hours on there, and now I have a total of 0.02266294 SMC from the new pool (my share of one block since I changed the port) Sad

btw. here is my address if anyone is feeling generous.

Unfortunately I already had to take the "meta-pool" down because two instances proved too much for the server and/or daemon. :-(

DEV wrote in first post: SMARTCOIN EXCHANGE COMING IN 2 DAYS ONTO POLONIex!

I think Cryptsy or other exchange is possible after few more days - week maybe more.

Be patient.

coin has only 23 hours, chill out
