bassduck:

saw your post on the KarmaCoin Page. You really shouldn't have done that.
Every coin has its own supporters and just as i am sure we would find it annoying if other coins came into this thread to spam our thread with their advertisements they also feel the same.

Noble is great for the simple fact that it stands on its own merit along with a dev team that have proven themselves trustworthy to the community.
Posting about it in another coin thread especially in a penny coin threads (which have a tendency to collect the most rabid cryptocurrency investors) will only put us in a negative light.

I am sure the general trading community has already given a look at Noble and those who like it have already got their stake whereas others have dismissed us another "pre-mined scam coin" without bothering to read the thread and how Rofo has made use of it so far aren't people we really want in this community anyway..

i believe now is a time instead of looking for new investors/miners we focus on building up on what we have. After all, we need to have periods of distribution and then consolidation.. if we really want to take over the world...

Fair enough, I removed my post as it was off the cuff and quite thoughtless, and I can understand how it could be looked upon negatively. To be honest though I wouldn't have found this coin hadn't some one done that in one of the threads I was following, thought I would offer a link for others (smaller miners) who might be interested in a coin with similar principles but a much more fair approach to mining and distribution.

Anyway low diff = more coins for me, just trying to help.

Well the only reason i posted that was because i saw their responses after that.. and i really dint want to start a flame war with them..

All things being equal.. I believe i found Noble in a similar manner.. as i skipped the first 2 days of mining it despite seeing the {ANN}

One thing with Noble is that i dont need to defend it... if you have a problem with it.. go read the thread and get back to me when your done with that..
Otherwise, we arent talking the same language...

I still mine and invest in other coins.. but noble's become my safe haven from the FUD of the cryptocurrency world... Grin

Yes, sometimes at the first place.

This is a nice thing, but at the same time, it functions as a double-edged sword. Hopefully, this notability assists more in propping up the network rather than diluting NOBLE with an artificially high hash rate with the intent of pure profit.

The way I see it it can't really be a bad thing.
The 1 block diff retarget makes it very difficult to make huge profit without a grwth in value.
that's what makes it very interesting and long-term profitable.
Eveyone can enjoy decent profit all along without seeing big whales profiting from a low difficulty because of a diff retarget on hold.

Pool switching systems can't make any indecent profit out of us to the detriment of the community.

I have a big problem.
My wallet is not connecting.

Message: "0 active connection (s) to NobleCoin network".

This is happening to anyone else?

Had the same problem on first install.

Have you looked at your router firewall to see if it's blocking certain ports.

I did nothing!
I closed the book, I waited a few hours and opened again.
Now is synchronizing.

True, the quick retarget makes things very difficult. I can see ways to take advantage of this, but it would have to take a significant resource. At the same time, we don't want the network hash to grow too low also. But I'm not overly concerned about that. Honestly, I like the trajectory that NOBLE is taking.

What exactly was written in that post on the karma thread?

"If you guys wanna take part in a real coin, that has real charitys and a real dev, that really benefits the average miner and isint stuck in the grips of instamined difficulty Head over to noble coin, No better coin out there right now."

I suppose I could have put it a little more gracefully, and I can see how it could be taken as flamey or inconsiderate, my apologies to the Noble community, no excuses, twasn't very Noble of me, won't happen again.

Has anyone had success compiling the wallet on Xubuntu 13.10. Feel like I've tried everything here and can't get it to work.

EDIT: This is the error I get for qmake

Well to be honest I did it once or twice too, I don't think it's that bad.
You did not disrespect either their coin or their devs nor their community.

I agree that we should avoid conflict with others though.

But as far as i'm concerned I don't think your message is really too much. Except maybe the part on the "real dev". We may try not to judge the persons. Smiley

Overall I think we have to acknowledge that we also have to find ways to enlighten the whole altcoin community. If sometimes we can use the many flaws of all the shitcoins that appear every week in order to achieve that, I don't really think it's playing dirty or anything.
.
We should just be careful and not try to hard. Smiley
