FWIW MintPal wallets still holds at least 108 millions of Noblecoins

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nobl/wallet.dws?364186.htm

or about 5% of all outstanding NOBL

Keep in mind you can still withdraw from MintPal!

Have you tried to withdraw with success? :/

I had no NOBL, but a few GRS, and they were withdrawn alright after about 24h, so withdraws are being processed manually AFAICT

Actually this information is accurate, it's from the blockchain, and tracks the actual funds in their wallet.

The balances you saw in MintPal for your account are only numbers in their internal, private database.

And keep in mind that an exchange deposit address is not "yours", and does not represent "your" funds, it is the exchange's, and exchanges track user balances in off-the-blockchain internal databases (and most exchanges that had funds stolen, had them stolen by tricking or manipulating their internal database, while withdrawing the actual coins on the blockchain)

When you withdraw from an exchange, the exchange only rarely withdraws from your deposit addresses, it will withdraw from other user's deposit addresses, so your deposit addresses can have a positive balance, while your account is empty, and vice-versa.

I was wrong, I admit it. Thanks for the clarification.  Smiley

Just a final warning following the Moolah fallout. I had been warning about the securities angle next for about a week and a half on Twitter for anyone who might listen.

I also don't expect this within a few days even though people are starting to be wary of it today. I expected it by Dec. or as we came out of Christmas break next year.

Just take care and don't overly panic and/or check your investments wisely until any fallout settles.

here goes my investment in 'swarm' Tongue

I can't speak for any in particular but some have done due diligence/registered and/or market/issue themselves in a way that protects them. I might be wrong but if this is the case just keep an eye open.

Got matched for 5 sats after waiting patiently for months. A lot of coins were dumped......by Moolah/Mintpal?

The price will hovers around 10 sats unless the supply of coins is cut. All this months of dithering and waiting for POS is doing Noble no favours. There has to be a balance between demand and supply....simple economics....too much supply = price falls.
bloody hell yr patient!! What exchange did the price go to 5 sats??

correct, you say it! In 2-4 weeks it all will end Wink just be a bit patient

i expect in the 100% pos stage 3 million coins a day will be generated in average each day + 144000 POW coins

once we reach 2 500 000 000 billion total coins and the 30% POS is triggered

it will be around 1.2 million coins each day

which is at 10 satoshi only 0.12 BTC buypressure required to compensate
every pressure above that will rise value

the first few days when pos launches will create way more POS rewards because people can claim all their big coin-age gathering up already now
but fast reach 2 500 000 000 billion total coins and the 30% POS stage is faster reach the value raise phase

all calculations above about average POS coins each day cant be exact because noone can predict how many coin-age is burned in transactions and how much of existing coins are in dead wallets means they will never mint

at DMD Diamond we see around 40% of coin age will be burned
but not all of remaining 60% are claimed
the calculations above are done with 60%

A month ago I moved all my coins to a different cold storage, silly me Tongue all coins age reset..

So basically if someone opens his wallet for minting only after we reach 2.5B coins, will he get 30% for all his coin's age?
Or 100% for the time before 2.5B and 30% for the time after 2.5B?

Another question...
If I understood right, lets say someone has 1M noble and its age is exactly 1 year, will he get 1M+1M? or will he get 100/12 for every month which will stake new coins for the month after? (so it will be much more then 2M).

I think coin age determines you chance to forge a block and the size of the reward in it?

answer 1:
the POS rewards deepens on the actual active % setting so in ur example 30%

answer 2:
coin pile which gathered over 7 days coin age will be able to compete for POS blocks
(small pile wont have success so early but after coin-age 30 days such small piles would merge together raising the chances)
this mean as answer for ur question yet mint at least each month 1 or 2 days will give more rewards than once a year
because ur rewards will already to start generate pos too soon

special as described in answer 1 u could miss claim POS rewards at higher reward % stage so wait y year wthout mint isnt a suggested tactic

I think coin age determines you chance to forge a block and the size of the reward in it?

coin-weight determine the chance to mint a block

coin-age/365 * coin amount * pos stage %
determine the reward

example
30 day old
1 000 000 NOBLE
100% pos reward stage

30/365 * 1000000 * 1 = 82191

so ur 1000000 will be 1082191 when u minted successful

learn how POS works by read it here

I think it is good to see more and more exchanges dying. Too much exchanges mean that there are too much potential scam chances.
If only a few survive they get more cash and can invest more money in security measures. and with every dying exchange the others invest more to get the costumers to their exchange.

And if you store your coins in exchanges it`s your fault. Everyone warned about MintPal and the loss of security at exchanges in general.

But if you want to trade and make profit you have to risk that. Hope people will learn in the future.

I'm not sure to understand this comment and reading the thread sporadically I don't know if this has been clarified:

POS couldn't go backward (i.e. generating higher stake for coins that were held before the move to POS), right?

If Rofo or someone from the NOBL team could clarify this point it'd be great as it makes a hell of a difference. Thanks!

It`s all about the coinage. If you stored your coins in wallet for a long time you get higher POS. So it goes backward.
If you switch your coins around a lot you have small coinage and get little POS

Thanks for your reply, but my question is slightly different even if i didn't express it so well above. Let me try to rephrase:

Once the transition to POS is done, will the the coins in the wallet prior to the switch to POS have a weight (coinage) or will all the wallets start staking from zero coinage at that time?

The coins will keep the age from before the switch to POS, but the age only affects whether they can be used to POS mine or not, you don't get any backpayment or anything like that

Great, so if i've sent 1,000 NOBL to a wallet today Oct 23rd and the POS goes live on Nov 1st they will have the same weight as 1,000 NOBL that have been sitting in a wallet for the past 6 months, this is correct?
