Just paid out day 3 of the PoA Campaign!
averaging about 30 new users a day
As proof of the campaigns success, here are the twitter posts!
https://twitter.com/search?f=realtime&q=%23noblecoin&src=typd
Paid out about 300K NOBL So far. At this rate, I have enough for 2-3 more days.

Nice to hear it is successful, it really gets the buzz going.

Are there a lot of socks?
I'm probably averaging 50-60 'participants' a day, with 30 or so that I weed out for various reasons.
Most I think are people messing around with it out of curiosity, and not so much to get extra coin. I say that because they oftentimes only complete 1 action the 2nd time through I guess to see if it allows for double submission.

That is really impressive, I thought we would be busy for a couple of days and then nothing.

I volunteer to help, though not about tomorrow or most of the weekend. You can trust me Smiley . Mwa ha ha ha ha.

Should we allow people to claim more than once? Once a day? Once a week? thoughts?

Maybe once every couple of days, as long as they are actually doing the actions. Even repeat tweeting is still good!
thats what I was thinking as well, but i wanted to put it up for a community vote.

The amount of sock puppets today is amazing lol.
One guys done about 15 different entries, using various names off this thread.
He's gonna be disappointed when his two hours of work pays nil.. Figured I'd go ahead and let him know to stop now to save him the rest of the day=p
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

BTW if you see my name then it's a scammer. I won't use twitter.
Havent seen your name yet.. But James's name popped up as a duplicate entry within minutes of offering to help me with payouts Shocked
For a second their I thought i'd have to turn him down until I ran out of options based on the rest of the active community got black listed =P

Haha, it will take me a while to scam my 100000 Noble back! But yeah seriously it wasn't me.

It sucks that there are people who would try to do that, but yeah its expected I guess.

I suppose the more people who tweet, the better, even if they are scam accounts.
lol, I know it wasn't. =)
Just amazes me how careless the scammer was. Expected Rofo to pop up any minute now

I guess they think that if they use community members you are more likely to trust them. Pretty dumb to submit some as you though!
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

We aren't listed on their v2 market list. They've started coins not listed there are  scheduled for removal with the launch of V2 (in 1 week). If we go by that info. we have 60 days to withdraw then, thanks.

Well that sucks, how can coins like Maza and Panda which are in a far worse state and not to mention Aurora whose dev has completely vanished off the face of the earth be on that list and not Noble Sad I'm going to have to update my wallet then so I can add the noble from mintpal I've been slowly buying

Point of Information:

The Pandacoin on Mintpal now is (PND) not Wolong's (PANDA). Two very different coins. (PANDA) is a crap coin and was recently delisted from MintPal. (PND) is a very competitive coin with an honest Dev team, super community support and full featured set of functions. Please don't confuse them, thx!

We've added a bunch of cards to the marketplace. If people ask you why you should use an altcoin over BTC you can say because it gives you 15% off near damn anything in the world big/that takes BTC.

Amazon - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/amazon-gift-cards/
Blizzard - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/games-mmos-software/blizzard/
Dell - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/dell-gift-cards/
Microsoft - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/windows-store-gift-cards/
Newegg - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/newegg-com-gift-cards/
Overstock - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/overstock-com-gift-cards/
PlayStation - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/playstation-store-gift-cards/
Steam - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/games-mmos-software/valve-steam-products/
Tiger Direct - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/tiger-direct-gift-cards/
Xbox - https://marketplace.noblemovement.com/product-category/gift-cards/xbox-digital-gift-cards/

Coinbase/BTC now try to pull of discounts similar to CoinPayments/NOBL (savings championed as a way to promote crypto over fiat), so in a way you could say BTC 'cloned' one of our non-technical features. Tongue

Many of these are first timers and low stock until we figure out funding/liquidity. We've got some smaller Marketplace promo. updates to resolve that and bring in some more attention for next week.

All of these products will be ported to the NobleRoad OB fork (mentioned in early May with github/pre-update screenshots for the trolls) *when* it's ready (no timeframe, no real merchant interest in it yet until OB is more used/proven), so it will have both 15% off everything (at least from our products) and be decentralized (hurray for current marketplace buzzword!).

I should have a final answer to PoS for you guys after the weekend, I'll post a short discussion from IRC and we'll go from there. Wait time is almost over.

The final count is in!
Of the 62 entries over the last 48 hours, all but 7 were ruled out for being dummy accounts.
One guy even went through the effort of spoofing his IP address but instead of randomizing it, he just rotated between 3 addresses over and over.. making all three obviously illegitimate =p

Payments have been sent.
PoA Wallet balance is 138K.
Still enough for a few days at the current rate.

PoS convo., my reasoning for the hardfork over the wallet swap. Long story short if the hard-fork is determined not to be an option (because of timing and/or negative feedback) by this Monday we will go direct wallet swap with an external developer (simpler, easier - who hopefully joins us a little also as a core team dev.) and give about 2 weeks notice for people to swap their coins.

Quote
<+myeagleflies> Regarding PoS - I doubt switch is going to cause huge spike in price since whole market is in bear mode. However it would be good to have some, even sketchy timeline. Do you know when the new dev is going to work for us? Or he has not confirmed his availability yet?
<Rofo> he has not confirmed, hes very good and has the skills do to a hardfork but is very busy
<Rofo> timing is too important at this point and weve waited too long though, so if its a no this week we'll go into overdrive and just wallet swap on bittrex
<Rofo> that can be a final timeframe because the hardfork route has been very negative
<+myeagleflies> cool. sounds good to me
<Rofo> if youd like to know my reasoning for the hardfork over the wallet swap
<Rofo> its because generally 20-30% or more of the coins are never swapped over
<Rofo> and those people lose their coins forever, its seen as a sneaky way of gaining greater market control without it being public
<+myeagleflies> I know and agree. we discussed this in the past
<Rofo> it looks terrible to people ive been in conversations with
<Rofo> either the exchange keeps them and sells them for easy profit
<+myeagleflies> I can suggest maybe finish code and announce swap a month in advance?
<Rofo> or they are lost forever with unhappy users
<Rofo> yes i think a month at least gives a good timeframe
<Rofo> time to just bite the bullet if we have to
<+myeagleflies> so I agree hardfork is cleaner but right now it does not look like a promising route
<Rofo> yes
<+myeagleflies> maybe even 3 months?
<Rofo> i dont think people will be happy with 3 months
<Rofo> if we do hardcore promo and warning i think a month at least gives ppl air to breath that its actually coming
<+myeagleflies> ok, justo wondering how to make it more probably to send the message to all interested parties
<Boreiv> many people have done wallet swaps in the past
<+myeagleflies> from my point of view noble is kind of stable and even slowish so giving warning long time in advance may look good Wink
<Rofo> yep wallet swap is easy, i chose the people i did though because im very fussy and believe in trust/rewarding people who seem genuine
<Rofo> and the hardfork was the tougher option and looked better under intense longterm scrutiny
<Rofo> but we dont have the luxury
<Boreiv> yes, and community appreciates your effort on that part.
<Boreiv> exactly
<Rofo> but if we get PoS done we can move into what was planned next
<Boreiv> at some point, the traders themselves have to take responsibility to take care of their own coins....
<Boreiv> :p
<Rofo> yes, but at the same time they should be able to trust the sanctity of the blockchain to not 'disappear' their
coins Tongue
<Boreiv> ofc Smiley
<Rofo> but weve got 100 other ways we've proven/gained trust so it doesnt look so dodgy anyway lol
<Boreiv> i cannot think of single other coin that has followed what nobl has done
<Boreiv> there's not much someone can do to make people trust you when you are dealing with crypto altcoins
<Boreiv> unless they want the dev to work while eating grass and drinking honey and milk
<Boreiv> from bees
<Rofo> lol
<Boreiv> to some people, nothing less than rofo's neck on a leash tied to their bed post will suffice
<Boreiv> in the name of 'transparency'
<Boreiv> at some point they will have to accept that they can't have their cake and eat it too for the sake of their own quick flips
<+myeagleflies> Boreiv: in ideal work I'd prefer hardfork option. or if we had much more money and could attract someone great and knowledgable to do the coding. however as things are as they are I think progressing with wallet swap is best what we can do now
<+myeagleflies> and I like giving 1 month notification
<Boreiv> agreed.

This monday either we confirm the hard fork or organise a wallet swap to be done with 2-3 weeks notice.

So, 8 months for a hard-fork gets you excited? Psychology can be funny, I'd encourage you to check this- http://danariely.com/2010/12/15/locksmiths/

I'm a supporter of NOBLE from day 1 but this situation with the move to POS looks incredibly bad.

The Noble team probably wants to make it right and think it through thoroughly, and release a fully stable and perfect version. It looks serious (and I'm sure it will be), but damn it looks slow compared to other coins, and not so reassuring re the team's programming skills.

This is probably the low programming efficiency and the ongoing lack of clarity on the coin future that lead to V2 not including NOBL... think about it.

I hope when this is sorted out Noble will continue to grow in popularity and appeal, but certainly the past few months were not good at all in that regard.

By slow compared to other coins I'm assuming you mean the wallet swaps rather than a hard fork we wanted to attempt (a first at the time and I believe still so), or the PoS switch already built in to the code when they're released after 7-14 days of 'fair distribution'?

And you're right PoS was not on the table and we had no experience for it. I was ready for a BTC core update, merge-mining and reduced supply because I believed they were a better option during the BC PoS hype rise and PoW was what I knew. I like PoS, but personally I think the misinformation and market manipulation of the PoS wave is the worst thing to happen to altcoins in 2014 (death of PoW, misinformation on 51% immunity & protocol security, complete supply restriction & control for P&D crews, guarantee price rises thanks to multipool, 'get-rich-quick' marketing junk).

We needed a new developer with experience and knowledge of PoS before committing to PoS and that was the reason for the delays/discussions. We're committing to funding & improving the PoS protocol as best we can once the switch happens, but there are just as many challenges to overcome as there would be staying PoW. Funnily enough months later PoW and merge-mining security potential is being 'discovered'.

Perhaps we should have been more clear on the coins future like Auroracoin & Maxcoin (perhaps we didn't discuss/share enough here? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=198862;sa=showPosts) and we could have made Mintpal v2, but from day 1 we focused more on use-case, education and charity rather than constantly forking to new specifications that generally resulted in protocol-level bugs or market control > pump&dump. Moolah has not responded to my emails or tweets since they came out in Jan.

But hey, for 8 months we've been wrong and we really need to 'make things right'.

Edit: It's hilarious that the scene has turned into a 'must hard fork every month or 2' to stay innovative rather than let things run its natural course like BTC/LTC and discuss/test/plan/educate & build over a more realistic long-term timeframe. Notice all these teams that work real fast? 9/10 work real fast for a month or two until they're done selling then disappear. Altcoins have really beaten me down to be honest, so you're probably going to see me be more assertive and get things done now rather than try to take things slow, help, discuss & educate.
