Drama Watch over in /r/litecoin. "Coinotron owns 51% of hashrate. People are freaking out, ASIC Theories, to Government Conspiracies, and you know along with normal rational thoughts and opinions. Interesting to follow. Now, How do you think all this will affect the Vertcoin community. I see another rise in vertcoin buy ins very soon. Im open to hearing other opinions." for more info http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/25zoke/drama_watch_over_in_rlitecoin/After a month ASIC will make an 51% attack on many coins and most coins just die Now is the time Vertcoin become more popular

Saw something curious on Simplevert this evening, figured I'd see if the collective knowledge of the community could shed some light for a hapless newbie.
There is an address on there that is clocking in at ~300 MHash/sec between four different miners (150, 50, 50, and 50 MHash/sec each). I have a rig with 4X 280X and I'm running at ~1.4 MHash/sec. This would imply that the smaller three mining rigs would be in the neighborhood of 160 GPU's (give or take depending on model). Given the four miners together, we're looking at nearly 1000 GPUs, which kind of defies belief.
I know there is talk that some Scrypt ASICs are able to run the current N-Factor for Vertcoin, could this be an ASIC churning out these numbers? I mean, I know there are GPU farms out there, but this would be absurd.
Is it already time to do the Anti-ASIC hardfork that the devs have promised?
Don't freak out mate, I personally know a guy who owns a huge farm and has over 1200 gpus. Drama Watch over in /r/litecoin. "Coinotron owns 51% of hashrate. I saw some people in reddit asking for the VTC address of which can donate to the VTC DEV TEAM if there is such available then you can add it to the home page in this topic or reddit Now is the time for good marketing and advertising for VTC only for 2 h diff from 275 to 290

Any pool better than simplevert ? I want to mine on p2pool but stales are high .
One of the longest running, most trusted VTC pools around, run by BorisTheSpider (of the VTC dev team)P2Pool (recommended) and traditional pool available for VTCP2Pool: http://p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9171Merged mining proxy (VTC+MON): http://p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9555Traditional MPOS pool: https://vtcpool.co.ukP2Pool setup guide and FAQ
Why use p2pool?
- Mined coins are deposited directly in your wallet in the generation payment for the block,
they are never held by a pool wallet and can't be lost due to failures or hacking/thefts - Even if the node you connect to fails, you don't lose the coins you mined - your shares are distributed on the network
- Distributed (less vulnerable to DoS attacks, less chance of big pools having enough hashrate to be capable of a 51% attack)
- Private (you are paid with coinbase transactions and your public key is never seen on the network until you spend the funds)
Feel free to use https://vtcpool.co.uk if you prefer a traditional pool. Especially, users with lower hashrates may find earnings are better on the traditional pool. There is room for a mixture of pool types, but please help further strengthen the decentralisation of Vertcoin by using p2pool if it works well for you.

before I was mining only in traditional pools Now I mining only in P2Pool the same as profitability check your hash speed / vtc / day- http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/vertcoin-mining-calculatorin p2pool need a little more time to wait to begin arriving VTC

I believe in decentralization but tried few p2pools and had high rejected share . I will mine for 24 hrs on vtcpool and then compare my profitability.

I know how it feels, I had 20% rejected share in one on the first p2pool - VTC/MON then tried another p2pool and rejected disappeared one tip if you mining 24 hours in p2pool, make your compare of the last 12 hours, because they are the real

The 3rd p2pool network had a bad run recently, not finding a block for 19 hours, and now lots of people seem to have left it. I don't have exact time history of hashing power but I think it's been around 50-65 mh/s over the last week at least, but now it's down to 38mh/s.
Not sure if it's related to the bad run or not, but either way it's making me consider switching my node over to the second network.. Am I correct thinking that a proxypool of ~1.5mh/s would do OK on the 2nd network? It's the cumulative hashrate of the node that counts?

There are comments in other threads saying there are reports of gpu damages from nscrypt mining. Is this true? Probabily because too high of intensity or other setting?

no My VTC rigs run cooler than my Scrypt rigs. On one of my scrypt rigs the CGWatcher crashed and didn't correct the temps while I was at work. I had a 7850 go all the way to 97C, and I freaked. However, when I caught it, I disable it till it cooled down and after re-enabling, it ran fine. Still working. My VTC rigs run the R9-280x and those normally run around 85C at I13. No problems, 24/7 for several weeks now without a reboot or hiccup.

VwdR5S6jzHAw4narZvEQKmv52ovNT8UGpb is their vertcoin address http://www.verters.com/block-analysis-slowThey are currently the second biggest vertcoin pool. They offer NO merge mining. They make NO posts in this community. And they really DO NOT CARE about 51% Attacks - as has been proven in Litecoin. Please ensure that you DO NOT USE THEM for ANY COIN. Tell EVERYONE you know not to use them also. We want to see their share go down and DOWN.

Hashharder Updates - Daily Amounts + Multiple Coin Stats on One Pagehttp://new.hashharder.com/payoutsWill now list each coin by daily amounts also (how many coins received on the day, the total number of coins found that day, the number of blocks you were mining in, etc). As well as now offering multiple coin statistics on this one page. Use the same format for the address box that you use to mine. eg: (note - three addresses picked at random from the pool) http://new.hashharder.com/payouts?address=VfvETgoaD1YzotADVjqpowyDS9NGrvGySs.MKxm86hZPSuMFSnjVW5BmBajUtYpKt3ZKt.PGVtgDTkF52gr6YSTybRuq9R4bBXfFURDz The addresses are also stored in your browser's local storage for ease of access later.

If Vertcoin can figure out the anonymous thing. This thing would fly. X11 seems to be popular with the GPU users but N-Scrypt coins like Vert is more profitable right now. I mean It's $1 per coin. That can change really fast to $10.
