Guys, now that I have a little more spare time on hands, I'm looking on build my own node.

I noticed two options around:

Paul Bradley's EasyNode. (https://github.com/Paul-Bradley/EasyNode)

and

V2p Alpha (http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/28revx/v2p_alpha_release/)

Did some of used any of those? If so, which one did you found easier to use/build?

From what I read, Paul's EasyNode is just for Linux? Is this correct?

From reading that I got the distinct feeling we need to get people to understand what VTC stands for and why it's worth holding on to.

We need to educate and make VTC better known. This is where PR comes in. I'm not talking about a article written every month but an actual campaign. Where we release information (different articles, white papers, development, vendors) all at once in a decisive strategic strike.

You cannot create hype without this. Without hype people won't bother to learn more. Without knowledge we're in trouble.

I hate to agree with anyone named 'Jiggy' (who the fuck are you, will smith from the late 90s? nah nah nah nah nuh nah nah nah), but especially someone constantly trolling with negative comments, but it's not really "addressing" the issue by supposedly discussing it in secret.

With that being said, I personally don't think they should do a thing to the block reward. You bought at a higher price, too bad. Cheap coins and/or a large (according to inflation people) block reward allow for more people to get some coins, i.e. a broader distribution, which goes hand in hand with decentralization. It just feels scammy when "the devs" of any coin try to change the rules of the game to pump the price up short term. If you want a five minute rocket ride go jump on the next piece of shit PoS X11/X13 coin...

He complained that the devs havent been saying anything, and I pointed out that they have been. Nothing more. We'll see what is decided. I personally want the block reward changed. If it is done carefully, the negative impacts can be mitigated.

Guys this is not inflation. This is wafflepool. Look at their VTC address:

32,000 VTC dumped into BTC so far.

That's certainly not helping things. The constant sell pressure. It's odd that having a profitable coin to mine can be such a crutch sometimes.

In the past few weeks it is more profitable to mine X11/X13 with GPUs than nscrypt.  It's baffling why some miners continue to use nscrypt if the intention is to collect BTC.

With that said I've been mining with X11/X13 to buy VTC.  With VTC dropping I'm also losing dollars so I'll now just hold and wait, no more buys at the moment.
