down?

Yeah, the site is down. The admin is asleep so it may be a little while.

its like the prize is on hold

It is easy to forget that "real" markets have an "open" and a "close".  In crypto, if the exchange site goes down for 5 minutes everyone wields their pitchforks and crosses and start marching on the estate of the operator, lol  Shocked

With so many competitors your exchange has to be up 24/7 Tongue
It's not like you can just go to many different stock exchanges Wink

has it been down for this long before?  If it's a one-person operation they might consider what is supposed to happen if there is down-time when they're sleeping.

Seriously what's going on with that exchange. Was never down for this long before.

ok so they tweeted an hour ago:
"Will restore service ASAP. Dont worry."
from @CoinMarketio

still, its been down for more than 5 hours or so? Not a good look at all..

have you seen the permissions that wallet wants?

camera
usb storage
bluetooth
full network access
+ more

can anyone explain why a wallet needs all this access?

The Camera for the QR code scanning.  Usb storage to store the wallet data and block data (not the full block chain).  Bluetooth for transactions over bluetooth. Full network access for lots of things. Like the block chain headers, transactions, exchange information (when it is updated) etc.

If your suspicious, which would be perfectly understandable being a security conscious person myself, feel free to go through the source and compile the apk from that. It is available on github, although I still need to update the build instructions.

https://github.com/digibyte/DigiByteAndroid

What exactly is bluetooth transactions? Is there anything special about it?

It would probably be the transfer of funds from two phones through a bluetooth connection, making it easier to send funds to another person who has a bluetooth compatible mobile device with a DGB wallet on it. I haven't tried it out yet though, and am curious as to whether this applies to phone->desktop connections as well as phone->phone connections.
I would guess that it doesn't, but it's a pretty cool idea. I personally haven't really used bluetooth for much however, so I can't vouch for how well it would work.

ok, thanks Smiley Does it mean the wallets don't have to be online or connected to the network?

Yea, I'm not too excited about that considering I still had 100 dollars on there.  At least I didn't have 500 anymore.

edit:  It's back now.  Weird message before.

I've seen that you forked Bitcoin Wallet in order to adapt it to DigiByte. It's great and I like that.

However, can you make sure publish the source to the Android app? Currently its not linked from anywhere.

The link should be in the app somewhere, Ill double check the correct link was added.

Thanks for making it possible!

Thanks! Can you make this link part of your app description on Google Play and on your web page? The point is in order to use the source, you shouldn't be forced to install a binary.
