Thanks Crover, just ordered 3 more. No problem I'm sure Bitmain will make new thread or update first post and update message. Hopefully we see a new product come out... maybe 20/28nm chip ? Correct me if I am wrong but the price for the 500 Ants needs to be updated still so please hold off as the price has now been updated since the 2.2BTC Ant S1 Also with the wait for next dispatch the 8th. I hope bitmain opens an online customer service based chat or ticket support would be a great way to take the company forward as the have the product,price and delivery they just need the customer service to match then they will be the best all round ever Bitcoin mining company I see many order already flooding into the Bitmain wallet....

I thought the rear fan was supposed to be an exhaust....hmmm but hey if it works and make more power sweet.... btw, speaking of fans...I am having issues on 3 of 6 ANTMINERS received in this last order with what seems like bad/dead fans.... so on one unit the Antminer was running perfect, other than this unit had a particularly louder than usual fan for one of these rigs, the it stop running and of course the unit stopped mining and started beeping (awesome safety feature). So I thought bad fan, wrong, run good when testing it on the 2nd FAN PWN connection on a running unit... so then I though bad power supply, wrong.... test a known good antminer, and it power up and mined perfectly.... then I started test the unit and found out by accident that just as I disconnected the fan it moved...I saw that and started messing with the plug and got the fan to work....Somehow if I shove the fan connect all the way down it won't work....I thought it was a bad/bent pin, wrong, then I thought a bad pin in the fan connector, wrong again...If I dangle the fan connector just right, it will run and the rig will mine, but if falls or is not a good connection or I shove it all the way down, no fan = no mining same for the next 2 units. EXCEPT 1 unit did run with the fan connector all the way down and I could see the FAN RPM's in the web browser, but now I cannot. While it did run, unit 1 did have a weird burning smell....so I am concluding that these are not the same fans that came in earlier batches....and that maybe the speed sensor/control on the fan has burned out...and that was the burning smell.... and the fan works when I dangle/connect it just slightly to give power but not to the sensor??? thoughts, suggestions fixes ideas are welcome. I am ordering some new fans which are not as easy to find as some say, I did order one before and it was the right dimension, slightly wrong connector and pinned out wrong ( i had to swap the pins around in the fan). thanks, sbfree ps. these 3 units are currently running, but I can't see fan RPM's nor can I shove the connectors all the way down or fan stops as soon as I try to do that.

I melted the pci connections running two ants on an 860 platinum and that was without OC. Load of 720 -750watt. Running them on OC will kill your psu Well, I'm now a happy Bitmain customer. I placed my order on the 23rd, so shipping took 5 days to Canada. The units were very clean compared to some that have been posted here. A bit of excess TIM here and there, but nothing major. There was a tiny amount of dust, which I'd compare to either 2 weeks of running in a pretty clean environment, or a day or 2 running in a dirty environment. I bolted a second 130CFM 12CM on each unit (push/pull obviously) and fired them up. I messed up configuring the static IP on the first machine, and had to reset it to factory to regain access. Once that was done, both units were up and hashing within 10 minutes with static IPs. Next step was overclocking, which took a grand total of 5 minutes per unit. Both are now running at 400MHz. Power requirements for overclocking seem to be pretty exaggerated from what I've read while waiting for the miners to arrive. For initial setup (before transferring to my 240v server PSU powered "farm") I'm powering both units on a single Corsair AX860i running on 120v (PSU is 91% efficient @120v) with a killawatt meter. Running stock (350MHz) both miners consumed a total of 730w at the wall, or 332w DC each accounting for PSU inefficiency. Consumption @ 400MHz = 825w at the wall, or 375w DC each. I forgot to take notes for stock settings, but one unit runs a little cooler than the other. The warmer unit has a higher HW error rate than the other by a pretty decent margin, but I don't think temps are the reason. Overclocked unit 1 runs at 41c/41c 2400RPM, while unit 2 runs at 41c/43c 2600RPM. Ambient temperature where the miners are right now is 26c. They'll soon be happy in my cold Canadian garage. So far I only have one regret... Only ordering 2.

Each connection had its own pci connection. With a load of about 175w per cable.
In all fairness the psu in question was heavily used. I had three 860w fail in the same week, all were RMA and replaced.

That should not be possible if you plugged them in correctly. Each blade will draw approximately 185w DC when overclocked to 400MHz. You should have each blade on it's own wire. My configuration: AX860i 1x Dual 8 pin PCI-e connector (only one pin used on one blade, other 8 pin unplugged) 1x Dual 8 pin PCI-e connector (only one pin used on one blade, other 8 pin unplugged) 1x Single 8 pin PCI-e connector (powering one blade) 1x Single 8 pin PCI-e connector (powering one blade) If you're powering two blades on one single dual 8 pin PCI-e connector then the result will surely be a melted plug at the PSU end. Hm, very strange. Which model PSU? Corsair AX860 or AX860i? Only thing I could see is that maybe the PCI-e connectors had loose connections (even if well clipped) which increased the resistance and heat per pin. Each connection had its own pci connection. With a load of about 175w per cable.

Nice looking setup, here is a question that has been bothering me for a while, Why pay £239 for a 1350W Psu when you can buy a budget 600w PSU for under £20 Delivered ? I run all my ants blades with there own PSU. I take it I must be mad or something, fair enough it takes a bit of room but will it not be cheaper as the PSU will only be pulling what it needs ? I have 5 ants in total so that's 10 600w PSU's. Going to get a multi meter to measure what it is pulling all my miners are running between 205 and 210 Gh/s Cheers

Nice looking setup, here is a question that has been bothering me for a while, Why pay £239 for a 1350W Psu when you can buy a budget 600w PSU for under £20 Delivered ? I run all my ants blades with there own PSU. I take it I must be mad or something, fair enough it takes a bit of room but will it not be cheaper as the PSU will only be pulling what it needs ? I have 5 ants in total so that's 10 600w PSU's. Going to get a multi meter to measure what it is pulling all my miners are running between 205 and 210 Gh/s Cheers so you have 10 600w PSU's so that lot will be pulling 6000w Max i have 1 1500w running 4 Ant miners hmmm i would who is going to win in the long run lol

You don't want to skimp on the PSUs! Cheap PSUs will have very poor voltage regulation and ripple suppression, and will not be able to put out the power they say they can without either blowing and taking everything connected out, or if you're lucky just powering down. That is not how switching power supplies function. Devices will only draw what they need. Using a 600w power supply with a 100w device does not mean you're pulling 600w at the wall. You'd be pulling around 125w at the wall with this example.

They probably only have 1 pci-e cable with 2 connectors If that's the case, he should cut the end off of the 8 pin CPU connector (4x 12v and 4x ground) and wire them directly to the second blade. Not sure if the CX600 is single or multi rail, but multi rail PSUs will generally have PCI-e on one rail and CPU 8 pin on another rail which would be ideal.

Can some of you please monitor your watt usage more closely?
My ant oc'd to 400mhz will pull 420-450watts, but I've seen it spike to 550+watts. It's sitting in the 490's right now.
If everyone else's does this, the PSU's some people are using might be too small for these spikes.

It was an 860w platinum not the 860I 2 failed and melted while running 2 x antminer (720 -750 load). the other did the same but with only 3 x KNC boards pulling less than 600w as i said the PSU were heavily used, but still the one with the 600w load was worrying and i had noticed the cable connections were running pretty hot before it happened. Either way all PSU were replaced by Corsair.

That is not how switching power supplies function. Devices will only draw what they need. Using a 600w power supply with a 100w device does not mean you're pulling 600w at the wall. You'd be pulling around 125w at the wall with this example. Well, I have been running my first antminer since november/dec and not 1 power outage and still going strong. The brand is Antec with 30A on the rail so my math dose me right that is pretty good if they are only pulling 125w each. I will know exact figure tonight when the multi gets installed. Fair enough firehazard it's in a cooled environment max temp 8c cable from the extension is warm and has thermal cutout built in so the cables don't melt. I am going to run a second extension from power source 2 as currently everything comes from the 1 plug industrial wire and plug in use. With also laptop server connected and 1x network switch. Thanks for the links will give them a read over Edit: Each of my PSU have Dual PCIE 6pin and 1x 8Pin I have connected a few also with the 8 pin to help spread the load.
