Stockmarket plummet.

I thought it was only supposed to plummet if they raised rates, but the fact they've not seems to be having the same effect.

Does that mean that central banks are losing control ?

<mod-mitigation-content-in-context-don't-taze-me-bro>

What does this have to do with Dash ?

Well, after 1944, the Bretton Woods system was effectual almost worldwide. Gold backed the $dollar and the $dollar backed every other currency in the world. When I say "backed" I don't just mean in a confidence building way, I mean "backed" as in "convertible to".

When the US started running out of hard cash to pay forthe Vietnam war, it took advantage of the fact that it was creator of the world's reserve currency and simply unhooked it from the gold peg and started printing (counterfeiting - from the perspective of the gold standard), backing it with debt instead of gold.

From 1971 onwards, the resulting debt based monetary expansion provoked an equally rip-roaring rise in interest rates up until 1981 when they peaked. Since then they've been reducing as recession after recession ensues due to the boom-bust debt expansion splutter that financial free-for-all induced. (That was also what gave rise to the massive derivatives market in the 1990's and 2000's).

Now rates are back to zero but the bubbles and balloons are everywhere, ready to burst.

Clearly, the only natural way for all this to end is that the bubbles collapse into something real, where monetary tokens have some fixed anchor - at least as their value base if not as their day to day trading manifestation.

The top 20-30 cryptocurrencies are in line to catch the debris from all this and Dash more than most because of its direct monetary priorities such as those that address scaleability and accessability independently of any financial superstructures.

</mod-mitigation-content-in-context-don't-taze-me-bro>

Here he is - the man himself making the announcement that kicked the whole process off. Enjoy !

Great post.  Key words here are debt expansion.  You can only sell more debt for so long until someone stops believing it has value.  The flight to assets(gold,silver,Bitcoin,DASH,land,etc) has/will begin.  Bonds, stocks, fiat are only promises.

Shocked  Shocked

At this rate my prediction of 3500 masternodes at the end of this year seems to be on the low side..

Thank you MangledBlue  Cheesy

Welcome :-)
Mangledblue and fuzzyduck are our resident raspberry pi experts.

Btw,quite a long wait of 5 and a half days for payments due to over 3100 masternodes, but it beats mining for income and you get a vote and play a part in the community.
In the early days people were getting paid everyday, when I started earlier this year it was already upto 3.5 days per payment.

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%

Congrats.  A couple resources if you want to monitor your masternode.
www.dashwhale.org - site with monitoring, voting, and notifications.

dashninja.pl - Put your IP in where the xxs are and you will have a personalized MN lookup.
https://dashninja.pl/?mnregexp=(xx.xx.xx.xx)#mnlistdetail

Not affiliated with either, except for my donations to them.

I think we should estimate our real count of full nodes, which should be collateralized nodes (masternodes) plus regular full nodes(people running clients with the full blockchain), I bet we are above 4000 Full nodes total by now.  Cool

Hey everyone, if those don't get a laugh (how could they not?) then, if you haven't already seen this, you'll no doubt identify with some of the character traits highlighted:
