Yes that guide...I'm pretty sure I watched him setup the 0 address wallet and transfer the 1k DRK. Would be real nice if some more info on MN setup out there. Something up to date...

The only thing that needs updating with that guide is to change rc3 to rc4.   Everything is the same as far as configuration goes.  Your 1k is broken up....that's the issue.

Bingo. I used that guide just swapping the version numbers to account for the latest build and it worked fine. If you follow it verbatim, you will have a working masternode.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Help please...what does "not capable masternode" error code mean? Following WeirdGod tutorial to the letter but this pops up when trying to start the masternode from the console. My son who has been the one who is trying to set this up for us has said when he searches forums for "not capable masternode" issues it doesn't help him troubleshoot cause he's not sure what it actually means. Sorry if this sounds stupid...my son is technical person...did my best to explain problem. Thanks

"not capable masternode"

"IS there no specific error that throws this code? " Is the question my son just emailed me from work to ask you guys...
Use the same wallet verison on local and remote server 10.12.32
Very often we have newest 10.12.32 version and on local we use 9.12.32 Wink this will not help you and you`ll get this error...

Let me know if helped

On vultre you pay 5$ per month. Traffic included is everything you need. No contract. If you shut down a node no more cost on next days or until end of month. Only that you use. 10nodes = 50$/month
You can reduce your costs a bit if you run multiple masternodes per server. At vultr, you can get 3 IPs per server at a cost of $9/month. For 10 masternodes, that would amount to 3x$9 + 1x$5 or $32/month. You can look at chaeplin's guide for a rough idea on how to set it up (instructions for 5 IPs at amazon):
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/ec2-multiple-remote-nothing-nm-max-5.1660/

Beware that you should ONLY use chaeplin's iptables setup as-is for amazon services. For vultr you need a more protective iptables configuration.

Your Darkcoin 'investigation' was quite a chuckle to read. Made my morning. Can't wait to read your NXT article. Thx.

The same author recommended Navajo, Byte & Jackpot coin instead.  That says it all.

For me the "Not capable masternode" is because it didn't find the 1000 DRK...

It's not complicated but must follow this summup/check list : (local=where you'll own your 1000 drk, remote=the linux server that will run your darkcoind as MN, before ALWAYS BACKUP you WALLET.DAT if you got one, on one of the two machines (local and remote)
1-launch new local wallet (without wallet.dat to start with new wallet), generate privkey and adress 0
2-install darkcoind on remote put in its conf file the line with privkey generated in 1, and launch it (wait that it download all the blockchain ~10/15 min or less)
3-send 1K in one shot to address 0
4-re-launch local wallet with 2 things in conf file : privkey in 1 and the IP of the remote. darkcoind-qt.exe -conf="YourLocalConfFile"
5-wait that the 1000 drk got 6 configmation
6-on local "masternode start"

Check with your son that he didn't forget one point.

6 - when startking masternode before doing this use this command on local: walletpassphrase HERE YOUR PASSWORD 60 ......... after this use: masternode start YOURPASSWORD

after all goto: HERE to find your IP and see if you are all green if yes you`re online men and you rocks  Wink

this guide?
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/drk-guide-rc3-masternode-windows-local-linux-remote-vultr.1367/

"Now, you need to put 1000 DRKs to your wallet, in order to enable masternode! From your other darkcoin wallet (or from exchange where you bought DRK, send 1000 DRK to this address). You must disable DarkSend, as it is currently limited to 10 DRK. 1000 DRK must be transferred in one transaction, in ONE piece!!!! Not first 1, and then 999! It has to be 1000 in one transaction, or you will have problems later (you will see "not capable masternode" error message)."

you should be setting up an RC4 masternode though.. or you'll just have to upgrade it soon.

Can anyone recommend an RC4 guide?

Or approach ghostplayer here - yiddakee on darkcointalk

If you think DarkSend is still limited to 10DRK then you are hardly qualified to give fucking advise.

This is a quote from the local windows remote vultr.com guide from Weird God on DCT.  I HAve set up multiple MNs from this guide it is good and very straight forward. He just needs to update this one bit after RC 4.

It sounds like it..

I also said underneath: "you should be setting up an RC4 masternode though.. or you'll just have to upgrade it soon.

But yes perhaps I should have made it clearer.

************ Alert ************

Great Ambrose Evans Pritchard interview about the state of the world financial system.

Ambrose recommends buying Darkcoin to protect oneself from worldwide financial collapse and Mayhem.

According to Pritchard, Darkcoin is unlevered base money, whereas Fiat is highly levered credit money. Says that when the Chinese and Russians toss their US T-bond holdings onto the tinderbox that is the current treasuries market, everything will go up in a huge bonfire that explodes a rocket under the a*ss of metals, commodities and cryptocurrencies - in particular Darkcoin which will eventually see numerical parity with Bitcoin.

Says that emerging markets have doubled their debt levels since the last panic of 2008 and that China deliberately created a "Bitcoin ban" scare back in December so they could shake-out large quantities of cryptocurrency to add to their "commodity lifeboat" which would serve as a massive airbag when the worldwide financial system hits the buffers.

Says that that event will occur at a time of their choosing since they hold all the (US Treasury Bond) cards but they won't be doing it till they've hoovered up enough DRK @ 0.00465 BTC.

Enjoy !!

Seems like things are moving very nicely, based on Jira. Not sure why the price is so low.
There should be a correction jump in a minute i think. The price is due to a 20k dump last night i believe.

I thought the same thing but movement is slow.  I decided to park 1000 drk back in a masternode until the price rises some more.  It's all profit at this point so I'm in no hurry to sell.  At least I can make a few drk instead of it just sitting on the exchange or in a wallet doing nothing.

I actually am starting to like the masternode concept.  Park your drk after a dump when the price is low and generate revenue.  When the price goes up sell drk.  When the price goes down buy drk and park in a masternode.  Wait for price to rise.  Sell drk.  Wait for price to fall.  Buy drk.  There is always the possibility that the price will never go back up and in that case you will have lost profit.  But when everything you're working with is profit to begin with it's much easier to take those kinds of risks and absorb any potential losses.

Go DRK!  One of the best Altcoin Cash Cow's in history.

I can say what I want since I am an investor this is how I feel don't like it create your own forum, the fact is these people are scammers they been saying that price is cheap buy buy buy but it's just going down down down...if someone invested around .02 he basically lost 75% of what he invested and in my case I was stupid to be one of these people so shut up with the price is still cheap and do some marketing with our lazy developers in marketing side...where is Eltito?

Thats true, but show me another coin that has potential to come back multiple times.

Ahhh, there is no one. Crypto generally is short before completly dying.
A over 8 month declining market does not attract new people to join markets.

If a coin will survive than only DRK beside BTC.

The guide works.  It just needs to be updated to reference the latest binaries.  I am running the latest binaries which is more than I can say for a good portion of those out there.  The latest build is 0.10.12.32.  Update your masternodes you lazy fux.

  • 800 masternodes running and number is increasing every hour
  • RC4 working
  • Third party Code review audit underway
  • No limit on darksend
  • First and Only anonymous coin
  • Dedicated dev team that use their own name
  • Master Node network additional services being developed

There is no alternative to Dark as an investor and currency user, aside from Bitcoin and Litecoin (well aside from Bitcoin)

Darkcoin will reach parity with Bitcoin, and it won't go slow and steady but in fierce bull runs, and quite possibly considerable drops.

If you are reading this today you are lucky. If you think, yeah right no chance....bookmark this post and read it in a month or 6-8 from now.

Happy holding!
