ok guys I've done a terrible mistake.
I changed my drk passphrase using a pass generat but misclicked and didnt note it.
Now there are 1000DRK stucked in my wallet and I don't know how to unlock them.
I have some wallet.dat backup, can I recover my DRKs?

Replace the "mistyped" wallet.dat with the backup one - it should still use your old passphrase.

I think I'm in favor of hard-forking the network to make Darksend transactions completely free. So there will be no fees to track at all. Instead of the miners, they could pay either the masternode network (the one you connected to even), the development fund, foundation fund, etc. These payments would be passed to the masternode and could be cashed later to avoid timing analysis. Another upside to this is it's impossible to do in Bitcoin and the fees could be MUCH lower than 0.0125. Thoughts?

I can sense Splawik21 perking up with "Did someone say hard fork?  All units all units..."

I did something similar last week, though not near as much DRK at stake. The previously backed up wallet.dat files will have your previous passphrase encrypting them. As long as the address is in the backed up wallet, just restore it (overwrite the new wallet.dat in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\ with the backup) and you should be good to go.

Fees for Darksend time seem less useful than fees for Darksend amounts. Depending on how many people are anonymising their DRK, 24hrs may or may not be enough, but if you could pay a fixed fee upfront to anonymise a fixed amount of DRK, that would be better IMO.

the fees are so cheap....just lose them - make it a feature and benefit of the service.

paying for instant transactions is where the money is at - doesn't matter if they are related or not.  instant transactions are facilitated by master nodes. pay them.
I do agree with you coins101, InstantX is what ppl should pay to achieve it. InstantX is the gold here.
Let darksend anonymise for 24h  for 1 a fee with "subscribtion".
Subscribtions with more time period brings confusion.

I finally figure out EXACTLY how to make the price of DRK rise!!

Its so terribly simple... Every single time I'm am away for a week, the price goes up.  Grin
Does that mean I should disappear for a year?  Roll Eyes   naaa...

WOW!! What a week! Its a damn shame I wasnt around to participate. Great to see lots of new guys around, welcome all!

Shameless plug... anyone looking to get their own Masternode, check my sig! Tried and tested service by many, zero complaints.

Great to see DRK on the uptrend, and hats off to you Evan (for the millionth time) for being such a talented and dedicated dev. Loved your InstantTx video, you sound exactly like I imagined  Cool

I'm not 100% against the idea of subscriptions, i guess the foundation can do its bit and get some T&Cs together and limit the network's liability to the fee - you would have to agree to the T&Cs before you could use the service.

But, its moving away from the idea of cash and into the concept of banking.

The "subscription" could be paid to the miners. In that case, you're paying the mining fees, just all at once. That gets us pretty close to how it works currently.

Solution 3:

Pay per round of Darksend, in a separate transaction, paid directly to the miners as a fee. The masternodes would hold on to them and publish them later on. To double spend attack this, you would need to pay the miners more fees, so it's impossible to double spend against and it's timing attack resistant.

This sounds awesome.

Sorry, but with the issue last night we are back to earth. Traders directly did dump to gain a short term profit.
Issue was found on the wrong time of a starting uptrend. Even if evan already has a solution and it makes DRK stronger with each bug is found an solved we are declining until the next good news and the loner it takes the harder the dump will be. Crypto is full of fear with allmost all shitcoins are done.
There is no fresh money and only the existing players shift their money around. In the end it will always come back to BTC and this will also shifted to fiat. With the FED and US government and their puppets in Europe are against Crypto to protect their US$ there is no place for a decentralized and uncotrolled currency.
They had the power to destroy a 5000 year old currency, so they care a shit about a 4 year old gangsters bitcoin.

Yeah, I agree. Lose the anonymisation fees altogether. Charge a bit more for InstantX.

Losing the anonymisation fees would have the added huge bonus that we could turn Darksend on by default, providing instant huge liquidity for mixing. It's dog slow right now because nobody is using it. Make it on by default, and free, problem solved.

edit: your wallet needs to be unlocked, so maybe not quite, but at least if it was free more people would hopefully participate.

I think this is the way to go.

I simply can't get my head around why Evan worded the "Darksend - Security Bulletin " the way he did.
Why why why??
