The idea behind using a name that starts with a D is to keep our existing logo so we continue to have some recognition.  Creating a new logo defeats the purpose of sticking with a name that starts with D.

Initially, I was of the opinion that we should try to keep the Darkcoin D. But it will only matter to us if we keep it. If we are expanding to reach new eyes and ears, it will all be new to them. A big enough press release, along with redirected links, etc. will catch the attention of those who are already following us. So we should feel free to change everything. Bring on the new names AND artwork, and don't be afraid to try out names that don't begin with D.

I don't foresee it being an immediate issue to switch the logo out in the next 6 months. From a transitional standpoint, having something to reference that we are/were Darkcoin is important. After 6 months or however long of an arbitrary transition period, the logo can be rebranded if need be. By now, most people in crypto associate that little blue D as Darkcoin.

2 million coins that were "instamined"  was bought by tons us right in the beginning Mr. White... Including me and at that time they were worth $0.21 would have made those coins worth $400, 000.00 which was then bought up by a bunch of people including a group of my business counterparts.  I don't know what financial world you come from... Having an open vote and allowing our competitors open access to guide Darkcoin down a path that would be to their advantage and not to the benefit of Darkcoin and the Darkcoin communities wishes wouldn't make much sense. Only allowing Foundation members who have shown they are committed to the good of the coin by supporting it through the foundation does make a lot of sense.
