does it spell DARK ??  Grin Grin thats soooo cheeky I just LOVE it !!  Grin Grin

Let's combine some interesting thoughts here:

Someone mentioned morse code is outdated technology ("representing the past")

Someone else said the morse code should spell "money" because it has more dashes.

I say: Yes GhostPlayer! Let the morse code actually say
"DARK"
_..
._
._.
_._

which reflects the past of Dash with a past technology. Most people won't think about the morse code anyway and accept it as a designer gimmick when in reality it's an "inside joke" or a nod to the currency's beginnings.

Oh and also it has way more dashes than "dash"

Here's my lame MS Paint Edit (Make the text italic to account for the longer "K" at the end and boom!):

Love it Smiley

interesting read, thanks for pointing that one out.

P.S. did you read that reply from bassclef about the "On Balance Volume" indicator (OBV) ?

That is very interesting as well. I've never heard of that indicator but IMO that guy's totally right - volume is a potentially more interesting parameter than price since it actually reflects more on proliferation of the market and actual number of coins changing hands.

Luckily, the phenomenal Bitcoinwisdom has that indicator on hand....

http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:on_balance_volume_obv

yeah, i read his reply too .. a lot of brainfood in there Smiley  Found the following also interesting

Quote
There is often frustration of traders who cant figure out when the market hasn't behaved like it should, or their favorite technical indicators have stopped working. They simply aren't looking at the market in the correct way.

Today, the composite man (biggest money movers) is bullish and has been since capitulation. This can be seen on the charts, as the rising bottoms during this trading range indicate that rising price levels have been supported and there's not enough supply available to push the price down. He won't fight this difference in supply and demand by trying to sell short as it would be too expensive a maneuver. Instead he propels the market upward, leaving the bottom behind, using the path of least reistance and capitalizing of the fear of missing out.

It kinda reminds me of someone that does the same for DRK (or at least seemed to be doing the same till the rebranding hit us)

Learn from the past, set detailed and vivid goals for the future and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control : now

More angle is good and no words under it

I think it looses a little authority with the increased slant.

The goal of the rebranding is to remove the reference to the word "DARK" because it can be misinterpreted by some people/organizations, IMO it would beat that purpose to put dark again in the logo even if it's morse code.

I'd rather say

Obnoxious - Repetitive - Desparate for Attention

Argumentless is not a real word :-)

Neither is "google" ... but argumentless is definitely a word in the coding lingo  Wink

 Google it!  Grin

But really, how does one say "without arguments" in one word in english? Is there one?

You mean as in "this function takes no arguments"? Hm, never heard that one, but it kind of makes sense. No idea about "without arguments" in one word. Maybe we should call this state AdamWhite? :-)

That being said, I've stalked his post history a bit, and it seems he's really obsessed with this coin distribution thing. So "instamine" to his mind could be what "child molestation" is to regular people. Plus, he seems to have been jumping from one obscure altcoin to another, and no doubt got burned (or scammed, as he would say) almost every time.

Sorry if this was off-topic, but I don't normally read forums so much, so I find this troll psychology kind of fascinating right now :-)

The symbol of a currency inside an other currency.

I'd rather have the coin itself carry on its past in the logo instead of denying it and have critics and FUDsturds come crawling from their holes flinging wild accusations like "attemped whitewash! It was a drug currency once, lol!"
Besides: How many people do speak morse these days? 0.01% would notice the meaning.

Was there any second statemant that from Evan:

- is it fix that DASH is the new name of the coin?

- When the name will change official at the exchanges and Wallet Software?

- what will be the new 3 letters for the currency on the exchanges? "dsh" oder "xsh" for example

THX

Nothing is decided yet. Nothing. The discussion is only extremely focussed, that's all.

People will notice, there are plenty morse decoder on internet. I can already read the "Look at this they are showing the true purpose of the coin" "Why the word "dark" is hidden in the logo ?" etc. I chose the coin for its dev/tech, possibilities not its name and I don't need the word "dark" hiding somewhere to remember that it was once named "Darkcoin".

-snip-

Dash sounds lame.....

Don't think of it as dash.

Think of it as Cash.

The D is just an irreverent way to be able to spell cash with a digital handle.

The media will love it. Kids up and down the lands will love it. Ladies who lunch will love it. Darlings that air kiss will love it. In time, even you will come to love it when the price reaches 1,000 / Ɔash

if you say so Tongue
