The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Wasn't there some video donation address at one point? Is that still going? I'd like to donate something if it is, but I haven't seen a post on it in some time.

The video donation fund was still 302 Darkcoin Dashcoin Dash Darkcoin short, so an anonymous donator that turned out to be Mr E. Duffield  (aka the developer) sent 2 donations of 151 each.
But thanks for the thought  Cool

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

You are going to need to come up with something more unique than Dash, since Dashcoin already exists and other people will confuse it for this or simply call it dashcoin anyway!

The fundraiser was successfully completed thanks to support from Evan and the bounty fund. The animated video project will start again this coming week, without a new brand defined it was impossible to work on a promotional video, so we went into a little hiatus while the re-branding to DASH was being discussed.

But if you feel so inclined feel free to send some love to one of our awesome site operators:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678232.0

There are thousands of failed altcoin projects by now, the names are starting to be like old domain names. The development team acquired the rights to the name from a small abandoned crypto project "Dashcoin" although it was never intended to use the suffix "coin".

Thus we are now DASH, but thanks for watching our backs, it is all taken care of though.

 It's still a considerable flattery though. Think about it.... I doubt Andreas, Gavin, or even Evan knew about Dashcoin, before this episode. Let alone "Joe" the neighbour. All this "heat" we're getting speaks volumes.

 People (considerably younger I suspect) are too absorbed with all this. They "think" within the realms of bitcointalk, exchanges, coindmarketcap, coindesk, letstalkbitcoin, yadda yadda yadda...

 And forget there is an entire planet out there, that is real, palpable, in need of a revolutionary change.

 Actually, lets try out a little social experiment.

 Instead of answering to trolls, simple reply (quoting but deleting content) - Je suis Dash  Tongue  .!.

 Should be quite interesting, and possibly quite effective.

 He called me complaining about your loud laughter while reading Bitcointalk, and the sound of your X11  miners!

 I told him to suck it up.

 (I have no clue if you have miners, but though it would be poetically funny, the loud laughter ... well .... )
