A marketplace should exist to put buyers and sellers in contact, and take a fee from the sellers, that's it. All transactions should be directly between the buyer and the seller, with a mutually agreed independent escrow if wanted. Still doesn't guarantee your safety but it at least spreads the risk.

If a marketplace is acting as a centralised bank and information repository then you are going to get screwed, morons.

Yep. I was thinking the same reading through the article. The mere nature of the contraband available and the obfuscation involved almost guarantees someone's going to do a runner at some point. Mad to send funds to them.

I have 'em all ignored, though I have sunk to respond to some before ignoring, LOL.  It does make one feel better.  At this point, the way I see it, is if a newb is frightened away, that's probably a good thing, because it would mean they hadn't done their research yet.  If they don't go, do their research, and come back, well then, they were going to make bad mistakes one way or another anyway.

At this point in time, DASH is growing, changing, and maturing.  When it becomes so useful, it can't be ignored, that will be the big day.  I'm so looking forward to it too!

I am no tech/programming/cryptography guy who can easily check allegations myself, so I am kind of the target audience for criticism about DKR/Dash and I`ve never put anyone on "ignore" so far, just to be sure not to miss any serious question/problem/accusation.
But I don`t get who those folks are trying to convince/convert. It is so blatantly obvious "FUD". I am following DRK since almost a year now (as an investor trying hard not to fall in love with my investment...) and so far every criticism has been refuted, adressed, explained etc.. Thx for that, to all the nice articulated members in here.

I think Evan may sell the Darkcoin project to Ripples or Stellars investors.

I'm sorry, that's funny.  1st, Evan committed 2 years minimum to this project.  So he'll be here at least another year, though I doubt he'll leave after that if there is more work to be done.  2nd, he has shown himself to be super reliable and seems to enjoy this project a lot.  I have no idea what makes you think he'd sell this project to Ripple of all projects, that's pretty funny.  No, I don't see that happening.  He's too interested in seeing DASH become THE digital cash currency.  It's seriously his baby, his magnum opus, the way he will leave his imprint on the world.  I've never seen him hoard money, in fact, just the opposite.  So I think it's clear that money is not his motivation, although I'm sure he hopes to make a nice nest egg off of the DASH he owns for his family.  They're so young, they haven't even started with kids yet! 

So, seriously, no.
