How long do we have till our master notes must be updated?

Version 12.1 Release
https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/version-12-1-release.12985

End users, miners, pool operators, exchanges, and masternode owners have until Sunday, February 12th to update. After that date, we will switch completely to the new version as soon as our engineers determine it is safe to do so, and older versions of the software will drop off the network.

What an incredibly short period of time in which to impose a hard fork!

Imagine if Bitcoin released a new version with 2MB blocks and only gave everyone one week to update, or be kicked off the network.

Oh wait, we can't imagine that because Bitcoin would never do anything so foolish.  That's how you run a shabby hobby coin, not a production system.

we will switch completely to the new version as soon as our engineers determine it is safe to do so

WTF?  Some unnamed "engineers" make at some unknown time the final, arbitrary decision based on their personal whims?

What if these mysterious anonymous engineers get hit by a bus?  Will 12.1 never activate?  That's why Bitcoin forks are scheduled in advance for a specific block height and triggered by code, not two random dude's psychic powers or tingling spidey-sense or whatever.

And DashHoles have the nerve to tell people this is a DECENTRALIZED project?  That's a fucking lie, and you know it, and this proves it.

How dare you?  Have you no decency?  Have you no shame?   Angry

The picture is correct in a couple of important ways though, Dash is money. And more than 100 Dash is a lot of money Smiley Shame about the rest of it though.

As far as I understand how this works, you won't be able to know Bob's source address after he had mixed his coins because the coins will be scattered around numerous newly generated addresses. So the attack vector displayed in your picture is invalid.

but the source address lost let's say a 100 DASH (scattered around numerous newly generated addresses) ... the question is who lost and receives a 100 DASH..the question still stands

Quote
The Coinfirm platform will allow for ongoing AML monitoring once fully synchronized with Dash’s blockchain. The platform will provide Dash’s corporate clients, including those who require AML/KYC compliance, with an array of solutions that fulfill and streamline processes. Verification of counterparties, automatic risk assessments, and fraud management tools will be managed and fully scalable by way of Coinfirm’s powerful solutions.

Beyond its use for commercial adoption,Coinfirm’s unique “Wealth Reports” will provide Dash users with the ability to build their verifiable Dash credit history and rating. With an accurate and trusted algorithmic scoring mechanic, entrepreneurs working with Dash will have the incentive and the infrastructure necessary to deploy new financial products and services that will meet consumer demands and grow the economy.

John received coins from a number of unknown addresses not connected with Bob in any way. The coins also came from other users (i.e., mixed) and have no connection to Bob. Bob's original coins were spread among other participants of the mixing process.

I think it should be clear that AML and "verifiable Dash credit history and rating" will be possible only for non-private transactions using unmixed coins, and Dash lets its user choose whether to use them or not. So this whole Coinfirm thing seems to be optional.

Dash people, correct me if I'm wrong Smiley

Poor iCEHOLE thinks he's so smart by deleting his post and reposting it just so it appears on top of the next thread page. Guess what, you ding dong: We all can do the same and I'm gonna break your toy now!

Original message begins here:
________________________________________________________

Looks like iCEHOLE is angry his IPv6 node can't connect anymore.

Missing your payments much? Don't be too butthurt about that. You got plenty of shit to be mad about on the other part of your portfolio: Manuro isn't gonna see any mobile integrations anytime soon thanks to RingCT being a complete trainwreck which, next to being horribly implemented, exacerbates the disgusting unscalability Moronero had from the get go. Watch out for an in-depth interview about that very soon!

Since you love to appeal to perceived authority and have quoted your beloved theymos for endorsing your failing shitcoin, you might like this:

EPIC LULZ! How do you like dem apples?

Shown already that's not even the biggest problem for Trollero!

Please make some more collapse predictions for Dash that are unwittingly going to apply to XMR!

And speaking of which: Where's your down-syndrome sidekick Arielshit, anyway? I found the perfect avatar for him. It's in the center of this picture:

NEVER FORGET:

Are you ready for a good laugh, guys?

Riccardo Spagni aka OneTrickPony puts ignorance over a "minor detail", I would say, onto full display here:

No, Ric*, it's definitely not "[residing] in a single address". The whole point of mixing coins would be ruined if they'd be put all back together into one single address after mixing. They remain mixed the entire time with hundreds of denominated outputs which are, for all intents and purposes, impossible to backtrace and ready to be spent anonymously. We're still waiting for you to de-anonymize this transaction btw.

You wanna tell the world how unsecure Dash is, but you are neither able to break any of its features nor do you even grasp the most basic concepts of its privacy model. You are a pathetic failure of an attack dog and Risto should stop paying your puny trolling attempts immediately after this humiliation.

Should've stuck with wine tasting instead of being a stewardess for the plane crash that is Manuro, Ricky.

What a joke.

That stewardess is btw suspected to have stolen thousands upon thousands of XMR that people stored on his completely, disgustingly centralized, horribly programmed, bug-ridden, completely broken "MyMonero" shitcoin webwallet.

Of course he called it "MyMonero", because as soon you store it there it's no longer yours.

Quote from: Fluffyponzi
Monero is significantly easier to steal than other cryptocurrencies because you have free reign once stolen - no need to disguise your theft. Individual Monero users are also a much larger target than almost anything else, as there aren't lots of exchanges or custodial services. Finally, MyMonero is a particularly soft target because your private key is literally used to login.

I've been trying to find whether there are any special instructions for upgrading MNs hosted remotely on moocowmoo's masternode.me service. So far I haven't found anything, but it seems at least one locally-upgraded wallet (Dash Core version v0.12.1.0 (64-bit)) is running as dashd v0.12.00.58 according to its stats page on mastercode.me

The usual fix for that sort of thing is a "masternode start" command (I think) but it reports:
{
  "overall": "Successfully started 0 masternodes, failed to start 0, total 0",
  "detail": {
  }
}

Suggestions welcome - thanks!

AFAIK he has not updated the remote servers to 12.1. I've been trying to reach him on Slack for a couple of days, but no luck.

Thanks for that. I'll just wait a while then. I saw he was updating the atlassian site instructions recently - nose to grindstone, I guess.

Starting _remote_ masternode using local dash.conf (masternodeaddr option and "masternode start" command) is deprecated now.
You should use masternode.conf and "masternode start-alias <alias>" command instead.

"masternode start" works for starting _local_ masternode only now which is NOT recommended on mainnet.

Thanks! I had tried both while mucking about fwiw, since moocowmoo's service is something of a hybrid. His old instructions used "masternode start" and the new 12.1 instructions specify start-alias. I don't think I've broken anything yet but I'll stop fooling with it. In any case, neither seemed to start the node, so I'm guessing moocowmoo will have to upgrade his servers (as well? afterward? beforehand?) as ddink8 suggests.

The local wallet still seems fine, so I'm optimistic that it will be a small thing to tweak.

Hi i'm new at mining and want to ask something pls someone help this newb   Grin

so i my question

1. do Coinwarz (http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/dash-mining-calculator/?h=370.00&p=120.00&pc=0.00&pf=0.00&d=83067.10815410&r=1.94005104&er=0.01608719&btcer=1055.00000000&hc=0.00) have a good profit calculation?
