Hi!

I'm currently mining on the dark side with a Sapphire HD 7950 using the same settings as with cgminer and scrypt:
Code:
"intensity" : "20",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "24000",
"gpu-engine" : "1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-vddc" : "1.094"
Getting 1.777Mh/s with that configuration. As I can't find any GPU comparison for DarkCoin, are these settings ok or how can I tune them?

Another question, can anybody open http://drk.lotterymining.com/? After some tries I could reach the site and create an account. But now I can't reach it anymore. Tried Chrome, IE and Firefox now. Ping gets through.

Estimate around 2.5x scrypt with less GPU stress / heat / watts.

Guys,
Which is the best pool?
I'm mining on the official, but I read past posts someone suggested to mine on other pools...

Alot of people don't seem to understand how mining / diffculty works.

Miners look for daily profit. If the exchange price goes up, difficulty will go up to match. I keep a spreadsheet with the 3-4 most profitable to mine coins and you would be amazed at how close they are, despite completely different prices and difficulties. The difference is often less then 1%.

That's because many minors keep a similar spreadsheet,a nd swap to the most profitable coin, sometimes on an hourly basis.

At this point, darkcoin is slightly less profitable then the top 2-3. I am sure this is because mining darkcoin is more pleasant because of the less/heat/stress on video cards.

For example, as of right now (prices and difficulty checked 10:50am central) profitiably for pandacoin and darkcoin looks like this:

      Panda   Darkcoin
Calclation rate   hash/s   1670000   10500000
reward      500000   11.68724617
reward fork         24.08105121
BTC/x      0.00000068   0.00185
LTC/x      0.000026
$/x      0.0004216   1.147
$/x      0.00041834   0
difficulty      150   134
Time   s
Coins per day      111982.2264   37.95891787
$/day      47.21170664   43.5388788

so Darkcoin is $3.5 less per day for me. And that's a big difference. the other top coins are more like $0.50 different from each other; it's uncanny.

I'm mining panda to sell for btc to buy darkcoin. transaction fees are low enough.

Thanx. Then the settings seem to be alright. Got 680kh/s with scrypt. GPU is about 10° colder. (~55°C vs. ~65°C)

I'm able to open it now. I had to disable Web Security on my AntiVirus software (G-Data Internet Security).  Undecided

darkcoin > scrypt

GPUs are doing "ok" with the ratio of 2-3x. CPUs are even better... cpu miners for darkcoin produce 10-15 times more khashes compared to scrypt. That creates the paradox where my 5830 is competing against i7 laptops and my 6850 is being beaten by overclocked desktop i7s...

Im totally failing at GPU mining. Can someone help me out/toss me a bone?

I'm using SGMiner and I'm not registering hash at any of the darkcoin pools I've tried.

I downgraded my catalyst drivers as mentioned in one of the earlier sections. That significantly grounded my hash rates, which made me think it worked, but I'm not registering anything with the pools..

Am I still doing something wrong here?
Still no help about HW errors Huh I even tried the latest driver versions.. but that caused two of my 6 cards to not work, and sgminer wouldn't start.. rolling back to my previous driver that allowed all 6 gpus to work..

you need to use the miners posted on the first page because of our unique algorithms.  this is the same for cpu mining Smiley

Of course im using the sgminer on the first page.. I have it running on my linux rig, but I cannot for the life of me get it to run without HW errors on my 6 gpu windows rig

Guys you are all in the dark! Tipscoin already has the mixer/enrypted transactions that darkcoin is supposedly working on! Stop speculating on the last horse to leave the starting line! lol  It was released yesterday... fully integrated wallet mixer. Tipscoin (aka fedoracoin) version 0.6  check it out at  http://fedoraco.in/, cheers!

Wow thanks for the tip, thanks for the coin pitch in the dark thread.

BRB switching my miners from dark to dark. Selling my dark to buy dark.

tips mixing service cost 2% fee!! And tips is based off old GPU melting scrypt algo. I don't think tips has anti multipool. It's definitely not asic resistant. I like tips too, I think it is a great coin... but darkcoin is in another league right now.

Don't use pools that have centralized operators! This has been stressed over and over. Use p2p pools and you won't have these issues.

They've been repeatedly DDOS attacked and all their pools are currently down.
