According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

(have to cut using iptables) -banscore=<n> Threshold for disconnecting misbehaving peers (default: 100) -bantime=<n> Number of seconds to keep misbehaving peers from reconnecting (default: 86400)
but, 'get same block repeatedly' is not misbehaving.... sorry, over my head, but maybe bumping it can get you help

Under "negativity publicity" the word "attention" is missing the first 'e'.
lol got it, thanks Quick question - After the next fork, will the <75 difficulty algorithm go away completely? yes

Not sure if just anyone can access this, but I've started a darkcoin wikipedia page. I haven't submitted the initial draft for review yet - I would appreciate edits, corrections, or feedback from the community to make sure I have everything in here correctly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/DarkCoinIf the link doesn't work, I can try posting the entire page in here for input. works fine, and looks good, edited a spelling error.. This section under coin distribution is muddled, please clarify it, 'cause I'm afraid I'll mess up your meaning or point “While multipool and “whale-miner” resistance has been achieved and reduced inflation means that the coin supply will experience a a stable or upward trend in terms of value, the incentive to mine has to be there in order to secure the network”Great job though!!

Also, I don't want to change your words without your approval, but the last section was again hard to understand. How about:
Negative publicity
A less transparent model of transaction could come under attack from governments or institutions who desire to monitor financial transactions. This increased attention may come in the form of negative media portrayals; While this might be good for the indirect promotion of DarkCoin through exposure, it could be bad for the broader crypto currency ecosystem which may come under scrutiny and even enforced regulation. Yet, anonymous coins might be the thing needed to bypass attempts at regulation and may render obsolete any attempt to regulate and control crypto currencies in the future. Regulation equals centralization and decentralized systems cannot be dependent on the decisions of central / government authorities.

Wth....can someone help me. I bout 425 Darkcoins at poloniex and sent them to my wallet which i just downloaded a few hours ago.
Then as i saw the incoming transaction i encrypted my wallet. Then the wallet closed (which it had to) and when I opened it back up my coins weren't there. ....so I figured I'd let it sync. So it is synced and I have no coins nor any transaction history??
Help please

There's still a bit of tumbling for us to do before any rebound.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like you have a new wallet (as your address is different). Like you just set it up on a new PC or something. Very strange. I hope for your sake you have a backup of your wallet. (I'd like to think that a backup before you sent your coins might be okay, as at least it's your correct address, but I'm not sure. I hope others can help you more.

^I have no backup. This all happened very quickly. Fuck, man, I'm worried now, how does this happen. It shouldn't matter tho. I sent coins from one address to another. The transaction went through. What confuses me is why after encrpyting my wallet and reopening it I find a new address that is unecrypted. Would my wallet.dat file be able to help me? When I originally downloaded the wallet obviously that got downloaded. Maybe that is connected to my 1st address, the one with the coins. How would I go about using that to get to the address?

Did you notice if it downloaded the whole blackchain from the start when you opened it again, showing the new wallet address?
