Thanks for that Unfortunately, I am a true noob ... and I have no idea how to download/install/compile that under BAMT. I think I may just have to take the time to install Windows again, and use that version. I wish someone would create a BAMT installation for DRK, like the Vertcoin guys did

I successfully compiled this under BAMT a couple of days ago. Running 2 R9 280X at 2.2M each. Nice and cool too. Fan hardly audible. Not much coin from that btw. Maybe 15 / day. I can get you a zipped version with source / binaries you can run out of a separate folder from the standard sgminer on BAMT eg it the won't mess with any other configs you may have. But you then have to execute from the command line. BAMT stop / start won't work then. Just let me know and I shall zip the thing and upload it to Mega mining and post the link here

That would be awesome! I don't mind so much about manually starting the process. My system is pretty stable, so that would save me a lot of reading I think it's a good step towards mining DRK under BAMT, and I can continue to learn from there. Thanks so much for your help! I really do appreciate that Just about to buy another 1,000 DRK. This coin has so much more potential than the other scrypt coins.

I wish someone would create a BAMT installation for DRK, like the Vertcoin guys did By the look of it, BAMT basically supports vertcoin mining out of the box. It's not the same with DarkCoin since it uses completely different algorithms. I suggest learning how to clone the git repository and compile it, there will be a bit of a learning curve, but hey, you're already using linux so you might as well learn the basics! This is generally better than using someone else's precompiled binaries (but of course, it's up to you). git clone https://github.com/prettyhatemachine/sph-sgminer.gitThen follow the instructions under "Building" in the source Readme.md Post back here if you run into problems.

People who like money: get on this coin now.
Look the current price of Auroracoin. It's based on the hope the good folk of Iceland (population 300,000 odd) take up the coin for transactions.
Imagine the price of DarkCoin if it becomes the global coin of choice for anonymous transactions - adult entertainment, black market, anyone who wants privacy.
You do the math. I could be wrong but I imagine there will be a few more than 300,000 people wanting to use it.

I suggest learning how to clone the git repository and compile it ...
I think I would rather just be lazy, and take a precompiled version with the bits and pieces. Learning Linux is not a high priority for me. I'm a Windows guy, but I just love the idea of a USB stick OS. lol ozkraut - I would still love it if you could zip the source / binaries so I can run it out of a separate folder. That would be awesome!

do we believe in 0.003 that is the question
No question about it...last night I suspected it won't dip into 0.0016 like couple days ago and bought up @ 0.0018... So glad I did. Great buy support, coin is outstanding and that's before major exchanges etc. Question is how long until 0.005. I don't think very long. Once darksend is implemented the market cap should be at least 8000BTC (.002 BTC/DRK accounting for inflation of DRK supply)

You need better pump material. DRK just tanked. But thanks, the tanking is like DRK going on sale for me.

When I first heard about bitcoin I thought it was anonymous…
(time passes)
Recently it has become obvious to me that bitcoin could become a nightmare, a tool for control in a dystopian future and not the brave new technology to free us from the tyranny of governments and central banks.
The open ledger, lack of fungibility and lack of anonymity in bitcoin point to a future in which private finances could become an impossibility in a world where everybody's money is held in the clear and visible to all members of the network and governments.
Disturbing calls from some members of the bitcoin community for government regulation only prove that bitcoin is losing its way. Seeking validation from the very same institutions the bitcoin protocol was designed to flout only means it will ultimately be co-opted by those same institutions, any vestiges of its former glory stripped away. Government regulation is anathema to the cypherpunks and to the spirit in which Satoshi created the bitcoin protocol.
Even if it were possible to add strong anonymity to bitcoin, the core developers are understandably nervous about adding features to a currency which is still seeking acceptance. Now that governments are getting involved it is a moot point. Adding anonymity to bitcoin simply will not be permitted by governments.
Pseudo-anonymity means nothing. You're anonymous or you're not. Pseudo-anaonymity is a broken promise, a crumbling cookie. Thus bitcoin falls short of its ambition to become digital cash.
Hence… DarkCoin.
I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying:
"DarkCoin is digital cash."
so bloody +1

Zerocoin was supposed to sit on top of bitcoin. That went out of the window, so they are launching their own coin.
The trouble is that DRK could just make Zerocoin a second run coin.
Devs - do a good job testing and get it out before Zerocoin. The top spot prize is yours to lose.
