Can you give me instructions how to help him through?
Thnx.
But where did you get this .dmg file? Look at instacash's post (the second in this thread). There's a zip file to download and it opens into a .app file.
I send my friend the link that appears on the Darkcoin website-
MAC OSX Wallet - v0.8.9.0 thanks to instacash

The link points to a .dmg file...
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkCoin-MacOSX.dmg

That's outdated. This post has v0.8.9.2: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg4585071#msg4585071

I would humbly suggest that the official website contained updated links to the wallets.

I was checking #darkcoin in twitter and seems to me there is a big diverse group who are aware and are just waiting for good things to happen here organically.
I totally agree with your observation.
I think it's a matter of risk - and for most people, even for early adopters, this is still an unproven beta.
I expect that will change within a ~month when Darksend becomes official and its source-code opened. There will be a lot of steering around it then.

Hey guys!

Gamblex has added Darkcoin to our exchange and our gambling site. It will be fully implemented, that means we will also sell shares that distribute a part of the Darkcoin fee revenue to stakeholders.

Check out our thread and maybe Invest!

DarkSend goes open source. No malware found. Code challenged. Haters start using it.

If DRK is too hard to mine, then what is needed is a DRKMultiPool. Similar to what BlackCoin is doing: http://www.blackcoin.co/mining/want-to-mine-blackcoin-again/

Something weird going on with explorer.darkcoin.io?

Hey guys, I noticed that there'd been an extremely high variance this morning when it said it'd been 4 hours since P2Pool found a block (now 6 hours and counting), so I went to look at the darkchain explorer, and something strange is happening. No transactions have appeared in it since 8pm last night for me, on any of my addresses from various locations around the country. What's weirder is that my wallet shows 5am-ish as the last time a transaction came in.

Any ideas guys? Hoping desperately it's just a run of bad luck and something is also up with explorer.darkcoin.io.

Interesting find by some Vertcoin user on reddit: https://i.imgur.com/2azh8An.png

A Chinese Vertcoin community of 900+ that they weren't aware of! (For comparison, their primary meeting spot is reddit's /r/vertcoin and has about 3000 subscribers).

I look forward to having our own parallel Chinese community. DRK is more of a "fuck you, government" currency than just about any other crypto. Perfect for China once Bter and BTC38 wake up. Part of our donation pot needs to go towards incentivizing Chinese translations.

Let us not forget this comment.

Looks like such pool is under attack by the bad share exploit. Has been for 8+ hours now.

Anyone have the skills/time to get this up and running. We could spread darkness over all the shitcoins out there...

No I haven't had HW errors myself - just checked all my rigs and they're at 0.

maybe bad luck, and time zone diff?

OH! Just got a payout this second (and another just a few minutes later). Guess just bad luck then... This variance thing is all over the place! Still doesn't answer what's happening on the explorer though. It picked up my transactions for 8pm-ish last night but absolutely nothing since, even though it looks like they're coming through. Anybody else fancy checking their mining address on explorer.darkcoin.io?

Looks like such pool is under attack by the bad share exploit. Has been for 8+ hours now.

I checked logs and there was nothing that stood out. I also noticed hashrate charts and they look normal http://uswest.mine.nu:7903/static/ Does look like the odds were forever NOT in our favor  Cheesy

@chaeplin

Do all pools need to update to latest source ?

Well, the 1 GH/s fake contributor is taking a lot of shares while contributing false shares. He was on coinmine and lotterymining yesterday. Pool owner should contact the pool owners of lottery or coinmine or fix it by himself:
