Why is pool 0 difficulty so low compared to the network, and why is pool 0 finding so many blocks?
and pool 0 is?

It maybe a stupid question, but I was just watching one of my miners because it had a few rejects and within the space of a few seconds pool 0 kept coming up with low difficulty and lots of blocks being found.

these might be just the way the network reports activity on all pools, but it just looked odd.

I didn't capture the stream of blocks found and the difficulty being lowered....for a second I thought someone had figured out a way to game the system.

edit - I'm on the official pool

The pools give out tiny "slices" of the full Proof of Work hash. You are doing a little piece of the big pie - that's how pools work.

The stratum protocol is designed to adjust the difficulty of the work you get to maintain a steady hash rate. If your miner starts having trouble (i.e. slow response, stale shares), stratum is supposed to decrease the difficulty of the work it sends to your miner to complete. If your miner is working faster (sometimes getting things like work overruns or it regularly empties the work buffer before the work is sent to the pool), stratum increases your difficulty.

This doesn't always work perfectly, but it is the reason that you see a low difficulty at your miner, and why that difficulty changes frequently.

Network diff :  block target difficulty.
Pool 0 difficulty : stratum shared difficulty, submitted share related
Pool 0 detected new block : working block changed

Pool 0 difficulty has min and max value.

This is sample config of stratum.

thanks. that all makes sense.

why is there such a long gap between work? Is that the pool end, or the network hash rate + difficulty?

my share rate seems to be impacted....0.05 share, but miners account for a fair bit of the overall pool hash rate.

edit - restarted sgminer and work is flowing again.

I have a few miners on power recycle twice every 24hrs in case something goes wrong while I'm out at work, asleep, drunk, etc... might have to make sure they are all on power recycle settings. still, its a bit of a mystery why work was so slow. obviously it impacts on the pool.

Lotterymining is setting up new requirements for password strenght:

Password most be at least 7 characters long, and contain the following:

a capital letter
a number no spaces
2 elements from the periodic table
a word in latin
3 fractions
a protagonist with a character flaw, and a plot twist ending...

should make it easy to remember, yet harder to guess :-p

congrats on insulting me endlessly because i highlighted how much of the coin is just like others.. aka: a clone.

butthurt much ? Source code don't lie kids trolling or not.. which i am not just stating the obvious and verifiable and ya'll gotta play dumb games about it.

being a cheer leader doesn't mean your better at c++ than me sorry neither does insulting me like a 10 tear old child.
i'm busy eating now but i think i will go grab the source code and compare it to the million code bases i have already.
then i can screenshot the recycled / copied code so you guys can't keep arguing calling me a poo poo face...

blow a coin cloner or your a troll ? lol i already knew that Wink this ain't my first dance lol
Wow you're a strange dude. I remember everyone hating you on the cryptsy troll box when they had one. No one here would have a problem with what you are saying if you could provide the evidence you say you can. The fact that you can't speaks volumes. The whole 'Trust me children I know what I am saying' schtick is tiresome.

isnt it cute, every time we ask a troll for the proofs, they either wont, or they show fabricated proofs, or they snip something out of its real context, and when we highlight the error, they call os fanboys and say we cant even reconise the truth when its in front of us. yet, no real proof has been shown,

as ive stated earlier, doesnt matter what coin you take, they are all a copy from bitcoin source, so its easy just to call an alt a clone...

litecoin is a clone too....

Until this coin is very well established, I think a mixture of there and here. Otherwise it can become its own little world, and here new people can discover the community.

want me to run a few experiments and prove it ? already did a million times on similar coins and can easily do it for this one too.

and white papers are propaganda.. i don't read that crap, i look at the facts like source code ..it don't lie.
all i had to do is look at what hashing algo's were used on page 1..

I'm all for that, sure run the tests and let us know what you find. If you fail to find anything also please let us know, most people just disappear.

Fuk
my dark coin wallet did not sync from from my firs lanch 8 february, can enybody give me a normal
darkcoin.conf  sample for this fucking synhronization?Huh?

Wallet synchronization waiting time enough for me to go to Miami to see a ball
Really annoying

I was having a terrible time syncing with the last update too.  Since I always use beta, because I like the darksend, I downloaded it as soon as it was available, and it had no trouble syncing.

So if you don't mind using the beta, it syncs fine??

Spoetnik, please explain what are you trying to achieve?

From what I see, you are doing nothing but pointlessly hurting crypto.

You are acting like an arrogant, all knowing oracle, master of C++, cryptocurrency etc. trying to explain everyone else - who you deem as inferior, dumb, fan boys etc. - how all the altcoins are clones, scams etc.
If you are as good as you say you are, why not develop something or help others, rather than wasting your and others time on pointless discussion and false accusations?
Evan has done more in several months than you did and will ever do.

If you were in the car business when first mass produced car, Ford T was produced, would you bash all the cars made later as they are clearly copies, scams, pointless?
If you had a say about it back then, we would have maybe 10% of the advancement we have now.

Wake up, we are where we are because human can improve, evolve and make something better. This is exactly what is happening in the crypto currency right now.
Yes, there are scams, there are failed experiments, but there are also great improvements which will lead to better currencies.

You know what else? People and market are not as stupid as you think. Bad coins are going to die and only strong will survive.
No one needs your "wisdom" and cleanup operations.

We all know what happens when someone tries to regulate free market. And it's nothing good.

So think it over, and if you really must, bash coins which clearly deserve it.

BTW - All the altcoins are helping bitcoin. People gets interested in the cryptocurrency and bring money into it.
Through altcoins, up to date I got almost 20 people into it, who invested in both alt and bitcoin, some are mining. And guess what? They are smart enough to distinct clones and useless coins from innovative ones.

you scatter pearls before a swine, darling.  The ignore button is right below his name  Cheesy
