There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I have a serious question, I think this coin is by far one of the most innovative and serious coins, but how can it possibly succeed if mining it shows very meagre profits, compared to scrypt? Are we hoping that scrypt profits die down completely before this coin can succeed? How can it succeed without incentive to secure the network?

Bitcoin value dropped again. Investor run away from Bitcoin.

There is no hope to mine anymore.

Don't worry.
Falling temporarily,
It has a very bright future,
Believe it! Smiley Smiley

Are you taking into consideration that x-11 miners run about 3x as fast as script with equivalent rewards? (well,, some report 3 times faster, some more like 2.5 times faster, I haven't mined script so I can't say)

(thoughts it was multipool, big whale, or api bug)

Hash spike and Hirocoin stratum abusing.

Darkcoin hash spike : all pools patched, fake diff abusing get banned.
Hirocoin hash spike : some patched, some not.
                             [* edit : patched]

Hi everyone,

A friend just made me aware of this (I don't hold any Arura).
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=546338.0

But I did want to ask in this respect - if someone could plz explain me like i'm 5y/o, how much hash-power the darkcoin currently enjoys (difficulty 425 is relative to what?), and how far we are from such possible scenario of 'game-over' due to a limited hash-power that can be overtaken by one evil whale miner (assuming the pools are not evil pools).

Much obliged.  Smiley

I have monitored Darkcoin network health.

http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhash.html
http://drk.poolhash.org/graph.html

And run p2pool for Darkcoin.

http://drk.poolhash.org/local.html

I think Arura 'game over' is not related to ' a limited hash-power' but KGW time exploit.
[edit : really I don't know....]

Darkcoin has DGW.

Mining is always a business decision, and if you're a rational actor then you should make the choice that you think is most profitable.  There will be times that can earn more darkcoin by mining, and there may be times that you can obtain more just by buying it outright.  Does the profitability of mining seem too low?  Then get yourself some cheap coins!

Right, thanks for the advice guys, now running my 270s at I13, 1070/1480, gpu threads 2, tc 6336, and powertune 20 just for voodoo purposes. Sitting nice and stable so far getting 1.25MH each @ 54C, ~5MH total. The almost identical box sat next to it mining vert is at 64-69C each card at 975/1250.

Plenty of Accepteds scrolling by down below, but the top line showing Accepted shares only incrementing very slowly?

Mined a mighty 1.5 DRK so far in 8 hours or so. Hopefully this rate will increase a bit with PPLNS.

Yeah accepts are low (since it must work through all the 11x before one accept is done?)

as long as your WU is at around 0.018 ish ?
