This solution Evan has devised could be a game changer. The biggest thing holding back crypto from mainstream use as a currency is the relatively high transaction time vs traditional payment methods such as card transactions and paypal etc. If transaction time can be reduced to under 30 seconds then it becomes a viable option for payment of day-to-day transactions such as groceries, restaurants, fuel, impulse purchases.

Very exciting!

DRK to the moon baby. Next stop is $6 usd. LTC we have you in our sights  Wink

Some noob ideas here..  Grin

1. What if we can provide something like DNS service based on masternodes which converts wallet addresses to unique names/accounts. Not every address of course, only on your wish. It'll be so easier to send coins to something familiar..  Cool
2. What if we can provide F2A for a wallet passphrase to unlock and send coins?

Maybe this will be what's needed to top LTC. Can't wait for that to happen.

Basically there are two possibilities now for the price in a short-term (next few hours/days):
1) Instant payments won't be feasible: Price will drop by 10%
2) Instant payments will be feasible - it is going to be a breakthrough increasing price by 100% - xxx%.

I feel like it is a good time to play  Wink

Again, I am talking about the short term.
Instant payments in the mid-term is an unprecedented winner, particularly if it involves hard-to-replicate MasterNode system in place

9/14   8:51 pm  <evan82>  I just solved one of the largest problems facing Bitcoin. Instant transactions. I know how to do it...
9/14   8:52 pm  <evan82>  It'll be compatible with Darksend too. So we'll have anonymous instant transactions.
9/14   8:52 pm  <evan82>  Oh and there will be no bloat, that is the problem with POS. I bet we can get a confirmation within 10-20 seconds in most cases.
9/14   8:52 pm  <evan82>  It also fixes the finney attack, which is another huge problem for bitcoin
9/14   8:56 pm  <eth2>      =) thats some good news
9/14   8:56 pm  <eth2>      lemme know when you need testers
9/14   8:57 pm  <evan82>  Yeah, I'm obviously pretty excited about it. I just had a eureka moment
9/14   8:58 pm  <evan82>  It's simple, elegant, instant and will cost a ton of money to subvert. Perfect Cheesy
9/14   8:59 pm  <eth2>      does that have any technical implication on how transactions are processed and blocks?
9/14   8:59 pm  <eth2>      from a pool standpoint
9/14   8:59 pm  <evan82>  nope.
9/14   8:59 pm  <evan82>  It's not even a hard fork

9/14   9:25 pm  <moli>       interesting.. https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/4942/what-is-a-finney-attack
9/14   9:27 pm  <evan82>  It could possibly stop a finney attack. It's funny you post that, it's what I'm thinking about righ now
9/14   9:27 pm  <evan82>  right*
9/14   9:28 pm  <evan82>  It can definitely stop all other double spends, but finney attacks require the client to reject blocks.

WHOWWWW
this is great !!
now we just need an official statement from Evan to make this Public for real !!!!

Yes, it's real and the solution is really cool  Smiley I'll be publishing a paper soon to explain all of the details.

gotta love those eureka moments Smiley

Well the audit from Kristov is finished, and there is much to be done here actually.
It will be interesting to see what will Evan and the team address first (some are already fixed from the looks of it). When all of them are fixed, and instant transactions.. I don't know. DRK would almost be perfect.

We've got a genius dev, almost 1 million coins out of circulation in MasterNodes, anonymous transactions, AND now instant transactions?  Why would you still be in Bitcoin?

I can hear the VCs lining up as we speak....

It has to.

Since instant transactions won't involve the blockchain or a fork it can only be something that the masternodes do.

To be real, bitcoin is already instant.. it is just confirmations that you have to wait for..

NO-ONE is going to try and double spend on the bitcoin blockchain for a pack of smokes..  only large transactions do you have to wait for confirmation..

I have sold bitcoins locally thousands INSTANTLY on the blockchain using the iphone app...
