Here is an example of a Darksend transaction using 8 rounds, sent 3DRK to the development fund. Super cool, you can have some fun trying to track it.

hey guys...

I am thinking about creating a mascot for darkcoin... sort of an animal like creature.

What are animals who are commonly associated with darkness or hiding, etc?

Bat.

Mole. (creates tunnels, etc..)

what other creatures can you think of?

Already got it covered, mate:

Hey splawik or ghostplayer, could we activate the pool police? Do we know how many pools have updated so far? It is important to reach a high percentage of voluntary compliance that way is easier for the spork.
Tomorrow I`ll post to all of the pools with good friendly reminder and deadtime Smiley
It`s time bed and than going to work.

*********** Amber Alert ************

London Stock Exchange 1-month FTSE 100 MACD now fully crossed. The last time it did so following a long growth period (see Jan-July 2012) marked the height of the Mediterranean sovereign debt crisis which heralded the Mario Draghi "ECB is ready to do whatever it takes to preserve the euro" speech.

It's quickly becoming clear why mssrs Cameron and Osborn soiled their panties last week over the prospect of Scotland leaving - fear of a run on Sterling (which had already started) and the spectre of having to put up interest rates to defend it (thereby bankrupting themselves).

ONS statistics out today: UK Public debt up another £100 billion in 12 months (now 1.43 Trillion, nearly 100% GDP). Borrowing is also growing at an increasing rate - 6% up on last year whereas GDP growth is around 1.7% (and even thats only thanks to Mr Cameron's sub-prime mortgage pump & dump scheme).

So lets think:

[1] - UK GDP growing at 1.7%
[2] - UK borrowing increasing at 6% (on a debt of 100% GDP  Shocked )

Looks like UK was the Titanic and Scotland was the lifeboat to me but UK 10 year guilt traders don't seem to agree - the yield is down 0.36% today. Maybe they're still wiping the sweat off their brow that Mr Salmond didn't manage to run off with a small country under his arm and a gamut of oilfieds with it. Mark Carnage's fingers may be starting to twitch nervously over the QE levers since, lets face it, we're next in line after Japan & the US and we all know how this story ends.

Just to add to the mix, England now looks as if it might be about to do a far better demolition job on the Union than Scotland's "Yes" campaign ever could with "English votes for English Laws". Cameron now has a debt problem, a "Scotland" problem, an "England" problem, a sub-prime mortgage problem and a "not-enough-growth" growth problem. How to fix all this ? - why a CENTRAL BANK of course. If all you've got is a hammer then every problem is a nail. PRINT-LIKE-FUCK !!!

Maybe switch crypto positions from short to long and strap in for possible bot-propelled UK stock selloff over the next 6-10 months with associated "safe haven" asset grab which will benefit crypto in general and DRK in particular.

No worries!

I thought long and hard about it, we needed something that represented privacy, blending in with surroundings (The Darkness).

There were a few finalists, but this little guy won out because he describes privacy to a tee, and has a lighter side (they are so cute).

The Gecko is working for Geico, LOL!

Let me know,

EDIT: This goes for anyone with artistic skills, let's jazz up this mascot!

OK, my intention was to give away 26DRK to newcomers to help introduce new people to DRK and have them try Darksend. What do you suggest would be the best way to do that? Any ideas?

How about sending 1.1 drk to 23 journalists to try out dark? Would that not be more beneficial?

Lump sum competition is good too though. hmm. Will ponder.

OK, I like the way you are thinking, we just need to figure out the mechanics.  I am up for both either  giving 1.1 DRK before denom and another 1.1DRK after. Or sending them to journalists. But how are we going to get the journalist to create the wallet and send and address? I guess the first one is easier.

EDIT: What I liked about the winner takes all is that is just more fun.

we could create the wallet / address for them send it to them along with instructions on how to create a new personal wallet.dat file and address.

Go for the owl ! Cheesy.

Definitely go for the owl! Perceived as wise yet secretive, and not overtly threatening, Denizens of the dark. Known for silence, wariness, and accuracy. Their readily recognized form allows for both simplification and significant stylizing; easily iconized, or turned into a poster, road sign, teeshirt, bumper sticker or coffee mug. Believe me, I should know... :-)

Strix, yes!
The owl is also my first choice. You are right, an owl is not much more difficult than a smiley to draw. A few circles and lines and the owl appears.

Owl scooping up a troll and tossing it in a food blender imo.

Perfect. I already see the GIF.

Good argument against the chameleon, right TaoOfSatoshi?
It can't grab its enemies... it basically only has a long sticky tongue... how am I supposed to stay PG if you only give me a long sticky tongue?  Grin

Shall we make a new final poll with all the animals mentioned?

Since I just missed the last opportunity to earn a free coin, and because I think I would be eligible (and maybe even have a chance at winning). I say PLEASE proceed with this idea. I would suggest at least a few day window inorder to garner as much participation as possible (and to give me time to come up with something really good).  Grin

You do qualify for the contest! OK, I am getting excited about this again.  If we have a couple more people interested we can do the 26 DRK giveaway contest.  It doesnt mean we cant do the journalist thing later, but that just seems logistically more complex.  Any other people interested besides strix? Going to lunch will check a little bit later to see if we have more takers.
