Don't forget that masternodes have recently been running at a loss too despite our 20% slice of the pie.  This is probably now solved but still, we aren't raking it in at the miners expense.

Serious question...how do you build a rig with that kind of hash rate?

If it was from betarigs then they allow you to configure multiple rigs as one for rental purposes, and I saw some bad ass data centres on there when I used to rent out my farm.

But never 7 Gh/s.

Prices have come down a lot now though on rentals, I used to split my farm up into 100 Mh/s chunks to make the price palatable for the punters, but now prices have plummeted it's not strange to think old world miners with massive GPU farms just configuring the whole lot as one machine through a proxy.

Replace 1000 Mh/s of consensus voting power of a GPU farm with 1000 DRK of consensus voting power of a masternode and you have your proof.

Masternode owners wanting to be the greedy elite by getting rid of the miners is not exactly true, consider the following: If I'm a "smug" masternode owner getting 20% (= ~1 DRK/day), and the percentage is upped to 40% which results in there being double the masternodes there are now, I would still get ~1 DRK/day with double the variance. Not that good of a proposition from a selfish perspective.

Isn't being both a miner and a Master-Node owner the nirvana when it comes to DRK?

By my estimate, which is partially based on my progress, partially based on likely increases by changes I have considered but not completed, and partially pulled out of my ass, I would hazard a guess that it's possible to do 3.5 GH/s with a little over 200 280X cards. That would qualify for "mid-to-low sized farmer." 7GH/s would therefore be slightly over 400 280X, so, decent-sized farmer. Neither qualify for "balling farmer."

You're calculations are well off.

It's 2700 x 270x Toxics, I already worked it out  

Before I sold most of my farm to buy masternodes I had 180 x 270x toxics and I walked around feeling like a black Pornstar most of the time...  But 7 Gh/s is  !

I don't buy into the FPGA bullshit rumours, so that amount of GPU's is just nuts!
