Masternode limit?

I seem to have missed that piece of info - is there a cap to the maximum number of the masternodes?

Not impressed by those buy walls, considering that the sell orders are so thin that you could get the price to 800k with just 10btc. It would be pretty risky to buy...

An alternative way of saying it based off your own logic: you shouldn't risk selling because it's thin to the upside. You risk buying your coins back at a large spread difference, assuming you want your coins back. Smiley

At a quick glance without actually calculating it, on Cryptsy it looks like in excess of 15K sold since the highs. 5k of buys will bring the price back to 82.6. The more selling down here hoping for lower prices, the faster the burn when people try to buy back their coins from the flip.

My comment was based on the previous variables presented on Cryptsy:

Sell 10btc worth of DRK and get the price from 716k to 701k
Buy 10btc worth of DRK and get the price from 723k to 800k (risking to become a bagholder in case of a dumpage)

If you were an investor that held both DRK and Fiat, which approach would you have chosen at that particular moment?

LTC under 0.01  Grin Grin

Why are you guys so focused on other coins?  The price of Litecoin has nothing to do with DRK.  You guys are to worried about other coins, analyzing charts, etc..  You all should know by now that the price of Litecoin and those charts are meaningless.  Focus on the technical aspects and adoption of Darkcoin.  Anything else is just a waste of time.

Hmm... this can't be good? What am I missing? Let's for the sake of argument, imagine that ALL coins are locked in masternodes. What's the application of the coins in the world? How to calculate the value if no coins are available for normal people?

Held my DRK and converted fiat to BTC and bought DRK. If you're a true investor, you already realize that the difference in prices down here is minuscule in the broader picture.

It's economics, man. Your scenario has approximately a 0% chance of occurring.

All coins won't be because there are a ton of wallet addresses holding less than the 1k min. Further, each coin is essentially 100,000,000 units (duffs). Plenty of liquidity in all cases although at such extremes, the value per whole coin would be extreme.

Heh! You capitalized very well on my mistake of adding "investor" instead of "trader" in my comment Smiley

The name/branding is very important as it is. Over time it should get lots of free press, and that is not to be underestimated. Wal-Mart won't accept it, who cares?

****REFERENCE THIS POST 1 WEEK FROM TODAY****

 Wink
Chart on top is a very small snippet from another asset's chart where I have seen this pattern DRK is in before. DRK chart for last 24 hours or so is on bottom. The referencing chart on top isn't to be used as a direct perfect picture of the future but is a general guideline.

And in general it's saying that we've got a little more rally left but are going to do a short-term top in the lower-.008 region in the next 24-48 hours and then proceed to consolidate, perhaps in a triangular pattern for 2-5 days before.....

All I'll say is I've just sent in a bunch of fiat and have locked in these soon-to-be-ridiculously low prices.
I might post the next small snippet next week. We'll see.
JL

We're now about halfway between those first two vertical gray time-lines, which means we have one more good rally ahead of us, probably to .0084 is my guess.
Don't think we've seen short-term top yet before 2-5 day consolidation begins.
JL

.0084 reached...Short term top in, or just about to be in within next 12-24 hours is my guess. 10% down and overall consolidation for next couple days now?
JL

Another short-term top anyone? (Perhaps the 'final' short-term one before a pullback?)
Just bought back cheaper, 10 DRK more than before.
Buy all dips, folks. Trust me, I'll post what happens next in the above chart and a doubling of price after this consolidation isn't far-fetched.

Edit: just saw that bobsurplus is here now, so there's your pumper. They're basically going to be buying quietly here over the next couple days.
JL

Short-term bottom could be in place. Next target according to above chart would be 0.008 before heading back down here and then........ Wink

I own a DASH Masternode.... And you should too.

Now once I explained the technology behind Darkcoin to her and she got over her initial suspicion she told me it sounded like a good coin but also reiterated her point of the "dark" context of the name.

Agree. This may be that the speed is more important than anonymity in our PR

Speed is more important for mainstream adoption.
