That's funny how we are still laughing at funny wallet designs while Evan is pretty much is saying: "You are screwed if you use Darkcoin for any 'dark' purposes until i push a fix" Or are whales keeping the people distracted on purpose while they are moving their Darkcoins to the exchanges for dumping? lol It's complete and utter trust that the DRK team will resolved the issue, coupled with being happy that bugs are being found when they should be found... +1 It's indicating that the Darkcoin team and community are pretty thorough. We ate so much shit that we're pretty bulletproof now.. Let's be careful not to fall into a cult though Not saying we are, but fair criticism should still be welcomed. I'm glad the bug was found, and I know others might be found in the future - this coin is, after all, pretty young, and Evan is fighting on so many fronts (Masternodes, darksend, instantX,..). I'm not worried at ALL, but let's keep an open mind!

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

We are not blinded (see the episode about the merging) Spit it out. None of that 'speaks with forked tongue'. No forked tongue there lol the italic part is just an edit. It sounded first like "we are (falling into a cult)" Just to say that the community was pretty vocal against it and not like "If he says it that's the best solution".

I think I'm in favor of hard-forking the network to make Darksend transactions completely free. So there will be no fees to track at all. Instead of the miners, they could pay either the masternode network (the one you connected to even), the development fund, foundation fund, etc. These payments would be passed to the masternode and could be cashed later to avoid timing analysis. Another upside to this is it's impossible to do in Bitcoin and the fees could be MUCH lower than 0.0125. Thoughts?

eduffield, I think its a great idea. Providing another layer of anon, possibly more incentive for MNs. Anything that gives us a one up on BTC is good in my book.
Are there any plans to integrate the network to be able to work i2p in the future?

Can you elaborate further on how this would work? Further, if you were to implement this method, what sort of timeframe are we looking at and would it need to be tested on testnet?

Sounds good. And I miss the smell of a hard fork in the horizon

Posted this over at DCT as well, but... Three thoughts/questions: 1. How exactly would this new fee --say, to the masternodes -- be enforced? 2. I thought the DS transaction fee was there not just to prevent Sybil attacks but also to ensure DS blocks get processed immediately by miners. I remember the days of 0.001 fees when RC4 was released and DS rounds >1 not working because of this issue. 3. This seems like a lot more work compared to adding a fees mixing phase. Is there some technical reason why the fee mixing phase can't be done or is a bad idea?

making things more affordable for the enduser is always a good idea. But I don't understand, you want to make darksend transactions completely free, yet pass payments to the masternode network? Are you talking about voluntary fees? If something becomes completely free, doesn't this enable DOS attacks? I have always looked at fees as some sort of DOS hurdle, so that it would cost a fortune to flood the network with millions of transactions.

Evan is only talking about darksend transactions, which are outside the blockchain anyway. (if I am not mistaken)
