Not sure why people think marketcap is so important, until I can buy a product with NEM (online or pos) I don't care if market cap is one million or hundred million. If NEM works and we can get it in the hands of average joe then to me that's when the real market cap starts. The way I see it, right now NEM is just a commodity and not a currency which is what I will be working hard to do.
+1 I agree. I am guilty of getting lost in the excitement of the first sells and the market cap. But really, all this is besides the point. High value, low value, market cap, no market cap right now are all kind of side issues that are distractions. The real point is turning NEM into a great community and service. Then and only then will the real market cap and value be established and again then it is still hopefully a side issue. Thanks for helping us have clarity and get back on the right track mrvegad.

A few days ago I installed NRS1.1.4, by using NXT, found that there is great progress ya they have done a huge amount of great work with nxt.. i was hoping this would happen.. an awful lot of people tried using nxt a long time ago, didnt like it, forgot about it and now dont know about how much it has improved. Back when I first started using NXT, it was soooooo difficult to get a client running. It would take me a while and if I turned my computer off, I had to start from scratch again. Half of the time, I couldn't get it going. Now it is a one click installer for Windows, so it is really easy for most people. It looks good and is very smooth.

I'd like to direct two personal requests to the community: 1. Please read before asking the same question over and over. At least check the first post of this thread. Seriously some people don't even read the post made RIGHT BEFORE theirs. How are people like that going to contribute anything to NEM if their not willing to put in the time to read 2 freaking lines ? This was a call for participation not a call for pay a fee and then come back every two weeks to ask what happend. I know not everyone has time to follow this thread and that's understandable but when you have time to ask the question you should also have time to read the first post or at least the 2 last pages which almost always contain the info people are looking for. 2. Plz use at least relatively strong passwords on your btt accounts (I'm not saying like brainwallet strong just use letters and numbers and make it longer than 10). If you haven't changed it in a while plz do so now. Also plz don't get your accounts banned. I don't know how everybody is doing it but it seems many people are getting banned right now. I'm flashing back to all the double hashes and dealing with that now that everyone has new nicks that need to be exchanged in the stakeholderlist. Yes I'm a littler overreacting here @2 because it's been like 4 people ( ) but I really thought the stakeholderlist work was done and we could move on to do something more usefull I also want to say thank you to anyone that is really contributing ! In the last days the thread has really started to look like people of a community trying to organize stuff over a common goal. That's great and that's how it needs to be. It's not like me saying that is worth anything but still - thx

has any one ever looked into what crypto records nem has broken?
like most coin announcement thread views for an un-launched coin?
most coin announcement thread views for an un-launched coin that hasnt release any software?
most coin announcement thread replies for a coin that has not launched?
most coin announcement thread replies for a coin that has not released any software?
most participants in an ipo like call for participation?
most devs working on an unlaunched coin?
highest marketcap of an unreleased coin (i think we would only need to beat maidsafe here.. could be wrong)
any other records im forgetting that could apply?
Definitely worth noting but should it be emphasized? why not? if people here of this unknown coin thats broken all these records.. theyl be thinkin, damn.. i better check this out... Indirectly, and changing the topic, this led me to think of an "achievement" list within the NEM client - equivalent to the achievements you see on Xbox Live and in PC / Console Gaming. Achievements is essentially an addicting mini-game in recreational video gaming, which encourages the user to devote more hours to the game in question to unlock these achievements (I don't know how to better explain this idea but anyone who plays Xbox Live or Steam PC Games would know what I am talking about). You could effectively create a wide range of NEM achievements, some of them fairly easy to achieve and others more difficult or borderline impossible. Interesting idea to use gamification to encourage usage of NEM. In general, I'm a big believer of it. Learning websites like Khan Academy have used it really successfully. I hadn't given it much thought in this context of crypto-currency, but it is a very interesting idea. Of course, gamification could be taken too far, like http://www.ribbonhero.com/ . It would be great if we could add gamification to our client. Give every user the chance to start equal and allow them to do simple things which will help secure and expand NEM while promoting them in rank. The rank could be defined as 3 - 5 stages with some cool names and could be calculated as a combination of reputation(or karma) and achievements unlocked which raise your importance to the network. Through this we could add a more social and psychological reward layer to those important to the network in addition to the economic one. Would something like that be hard to implement? If so maybe we could keep it in mind for some later iterations.

NXT has a really big head start on NEM, but NEM has the ability to reflect on the things that NXT did well and didn't do well. NXT did not have a large and equal distribution. NEM does. NXT did not have a good one click wallet for the a long time, and in fact only just recently got one. They did have like 7 just okay wallets, many of them with bugs and hard to install. Many is good, but at least one good one is important. NEM has a good prototype for a wallet in works. The screen shot is here. https://googledrive.com/host/0Bwfe5MzvbH9wc1ZkSGFUYjN6QnM/dashboard.htmlNXT hasn't been doing a very good job marketing but recently got a good theme/logo/symbol/color scheme recently when they hired a marketing firm. Hopefully by the time the NEM alpha or beta is running NEM can start to market well and with a lot of power.

You may either wait for the coin to launch and claim your stake then via bitcointalk-account or you may claim your stake as "pre-tradable" token in nxt-ecosystem. This token you will be able to trade for real nem too after nem is launched. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616467.0Ok, thank you for the info. Time to start studying all about NEM I guess!
