This is cool. I sent a message about accepting potcoin to Chronic Star at http://chronicstar.net/index.php?route=information/contact and this was their reply:

>Hi there,
>
>Looks like we will be accepting payments with Potcoin pretty soon, it'll be a little bit of a different process since our payments processor >coinpayments.net does not accept Potcoin yet, but it will be possible soon.

>Thank you,

Hey SmokeMon I owe the devs a 1000 coin bounty for implementing the Kimoto Gravity Well.   Should I just send that to the address for the Snoop-a-Loop campaign or is there a specific coder who should receive it personally?  BTW, I was humbled and impressed at how quickly you guys reacted to my suggestion.   I really love this community and you guys inspire the kind of confidence that assures me this coin will be successful.

Give it too snoop!!!

what do we think about "dopecoin 2.0"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=467641.0

I feel that we can sway anyone wanting to mine those to mine potcoin instead.
It seems like the launch is failing and I think dopecoin is a bad name, it could mean weed or heroin imo.

I was in the mx market and watching chat they said a coin called cocaine coin is coming. I did a search on startpage but couldn't find any info. Just wow I though. pot, dope, cocaine coin, whats next methcoin, special k coin, x-tacycoin.....

I don't really think Dopecoin can be called "before potcoin" as 1.0 was a bust. Also the name is pff..

hello, everyone!

first off, the community is awesome.

but the website is not user-friendly enough for the average cannabis customer or dispensary to intuitively grasp. or rather, not friendly to people new to cryptocurrencies in general.  i think that for it to catch on better, it should (for now) refer to the existing bitcoin, litecoin, etc. infrastructures that people are already familiar with.  Start with how it's similar, then highlight its' differences.  particularly, that of the community which potcoin is composed of.  'specially if organizations like NORML and advocates of the legalization of cannabis (universities, consultants, etc.) are involved.

since one of the primary goals of this coin is to help facilitate transactions for the cannabis industry, how about a really simple step-by-step guide for those new to cryptocurrency to learn how to accept it?  maybe a youtube video as well.  also, a video or eli5 as to how to 'grow' pot via mining...

maybe a video showing a miner growing POT and using it @ a dispensary, 'specially once the android app debuts?  or a tutorial on how a person who doesn't mine would get their hands on some coins in general at the lowest possible prices (i.e., showcasing existing exchanges?)  not to hate on buy-pot.org or undercut the people running it, but... i feel that doing these things would help the community grow more organically and be rather resilient.

other thought:  from what I think I understand, 420 coins will be created each block until 420M are created.  maybe it's a personal thing, but I feel that a coin like this shouldn't have a cap.  makes it feel like it's got a limited lifespan, much unlike the unlimited potential of plants growing, you know?

that's it for now.  peace and more fire  Grin

and of course, snoop's charity:  http://www.reddit.com/r/potcoin/comments/1y0w3z/not_sure_if_people_realize_but_if_we_raise_500/

OK but new people start mining everyday too, and current miners constantly upgrade their mining power. I just find it concerning potcoin isnt growing especially since 25 mh of the 750 is from me. That's down to 725 it just doesn't seems popular. I'll sit on my 200,000 potcoins and just hope for the best

Funny, I leave when the hashrate gets too high, and come back when its low.

I leave only when it more profitable to mine another coin , price/reward , I couldn't care about the difficulty.

I am long on potcoin and don't plan on selling any time soon I would prefer the most coin for my hashes instead of the most btc/fiat for my potcoin

Will just stating the concept did come "before potcoin".  Either way, there is no reason why both communities can't spread the love around for what we both like,  I'm not sure why such hostility ?  Sad
For people who love pot , you all are pretty crappy when it comes to being giving and receptive to things.

We should show support for this dispensary by purchasing from them.

http://chronicstar.net/how-to-purchase-cannabis-edibles

1. OBTAIN AN ACCEPTED CRYPTOCURRENCY.
The easiest way to obtain some cryptocurrency is through someone you know. There is a list of places you can buy it from here: Detailed Bitcoin Information

If you're buying in person rather than online make sure:

1.You've either have a Wallet App on your phone or  you wallet address and qr code

2. You checked the current prices here: Cryptocurrency prices, Make sure you don't follow the default price on Multibit wallet because it may be Mt.Gox price, which is much higher.

3. You are in a public location, please be cautious about buying from stranger.

4. The seller has your exact address before sending the full amount.

5. Make sure your bitcoins are secure with a strong password and is then backed up to secure places: More on Bitcoin wallet safety

6. You recieved the correct amount to the correct address.

7. In most cases you can spend your new bitcoins about 40 minutes after they are sent to you.

WHAT ARE BITCOINS AND WHERE CAN YOU BUY THEM?
2. PURCHASE THE ITEMS YOU WANT
1. Add items to your cart

2. Make sure your cart has a subtotal of $50 or higher.

3. Proceed with entering information, if you comment that you require a signature (optional) you may need to use your exact name if your postal office requires I.D., otherwise you may choose to purchase under a different name.

4. Once you've read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions and confirm your order you will be taken to the payment processors website.

5. Choose the button for which cryptocurrency you want to pay with, the website will then indicate how much of that coin you will need to send. If you are paying with Potcoin we will email you the qoute and address since it is not supported on coinpayments.net

6. Send that exact amount to the address displayed and make sure you copied it exactly.

7. You should eventually get an email that you succesfully paid, your order is then added to our process queue.

3. RECEIVING YOUR ORDER:
1. With several days you'll recieve your package tracking number and from there on you can track the order to your doorstep.

2. When you're ready to use your item refer to that product's information page for tips on preparation and the FAQ for tips on use.

3. Please enjoy responsibly!

hey guys

thanks for all the great feedback!!

1. We are going to make a video and also a PDF to download on how to accept potcoin and making paper wallet etc.  If people would like to help out with that project get in touch with us. or email me smokemon@gmail.com

2. Snoop dog charity fund raiser is at 40400 coins in less than 48 hours!!! wow  thanks so much for a great birthday gift!! we will be donating the money monday night around!! going to make something for it.

3. we will be launching the rasberry pi client monday also so you will be able to download it at the potcoin website.  this could be very useful to create a simple POS in stores to accept POTCOINS simply via - NFC or Bluetooth or just a confirmed transaction on a small LCD.  We have a member of the STREET DEV TEAM rznag helping us build a custom POS that we could mass produce and sell to stores for not to expensive.

4. We will keep you update on the android wallet we hope to have it done by the weeks end but no promises, we are at the last stages of bug fixes etc.

5. Im also 50% finished the new POT TALK website that will be the NEW main HUB for the POTCOIN COMMUNITY. Forum, social site, chat, and tons of fun features to connect with other potcoin users.

6. We are also working on the designs for our new rolling papers, filter papers, and T-shirts. We should have a preview shortly.

thanks again for all the great support, this community is just awesome!

The same blockchain is compatible, at least if you update before the deadline, the update is pretty painless and fast.

If you update after the deadline, there is a chance you'll get stuck on a fork, and then may have to re-download.
